I just don't understand this partial hatred towards abhimanyu...he has been suffering since the beginning and still doesn't know the entire history of goenka sisters.

People are too judgemental when it comes to abhimanyu.

1. It was Abhimanyu who took the proposal to Aarohi on his own will. He wanted to show Akshu that he doesn’t care and will marry anyone and he convinced the Goenkas that he is ready to marry Aarohi. Yes maybe Aarohi manipulated a few things but I don’t think it matters to Abhimanyu what Aarohi did or didn’t do because he doesn’t love her.

2. Oh Aarohi lied and went for her exams VS while getting ready for his marriage, Abhimanyu continued to have not so PG thoughts about her sister. He constantly went after Akshu, assaulting her and trying to force her to do things for him. There was nothing physical you might argue but there was still emotional cheating going on and yes that’s cheating.

3. no matter what Aarohi did, she does not deserve to be humiliated on her wedding by her groom not showing up and running off with her sister. The least Abhimanyu and Birlas could have done was talk to the family in private instead of taking the bharaat without a groom.

4. lastly here is why Abhimanyu is the wrong one: Akshu still says let’s go talk to Aaru first. Let’s tell her first…he’s like no no those grown up’s won’t understand us. Beta you are a freakin surgeon, your not a 5 year old. You too are a bloody grown up. Abhimanyu has no concern for anyone except himself. He doesn’t care how his actions can impact Aarohi’s life. Hell he doesn’t care how this can impact Akshu.

No but the 'use' connotations are so funny here. Even if you take away the fire incident and the bogus conditional this entire marriage farce was based on, Arohi knew his decision was a result of emotional pressure and he didn't want to marry her. Then he offered her the most insulting deal in the history of insulting deals where he said his love and emotional fidelity -- whatever he decides whenever he decides what emotional fidelity is -- are for Akshara and she gets the bare minimum he decides she gets from him and she had zero self-respect. Then he went on to prove it by going after akshara and always making her his only priority to the exclusion of everything else. Where did he cheat her? She knew this entire marriage agreement was based upon her saving him in the fire incident. The moment he found out that was a lie this was over too. Akshara and Abhimanyu have both been an ass to each other in different capacities and are both at fault but out of them Abhimanyu's been far more honest with Arohi than Akshara has been. She decided to sacrifice Abhimanyu to earn her salvation and kept on lying to Arohi about how she was fine, in fact happy, about it all and then decided no she isn't and that's that. It's just been one wrong decision after another leading to a gigantic disaster for them all.

arohi and akshu will bear the brunt of their own actions. Why should arohi ke jijaji be punished ? Interesting poll and very interesting responses/results. I never thought the 2nd option (that Arohi doesnt deserve to be publicly humiliated) would get that many voters. Rn it’s 50-50.

(I voted for 2nd option too - she doesnt deserve to be left at the altar on her wedding day and humiliated so publicly. Most of this mess is self-created by many characters. The resolution - that Abhira wants to unite could’ve/should’ve been done in private - among the core family members- like Akshu suggested).

Yrkkh has always been about family problems and how every couple suffers due to the family while having their best interest in mind.. On their own, they are just fine . Pick any one track from yrkkh from 2009 to 2022 in which the family was not involved , where problem was not due to them or they didn't influence the couple. Such tracks can be counted on fingers. Mostly it was between akshara naitik in the initial years bec theirs was an arranged marriage and his family was very conservative. Again..family...if abhira have problems it will only be bec of akshu keeping secrets

She clearly told Arohi that she wishes Abhi never looks into Arohi's evil heart. There's literally no toll on Akshara now that she's gone back on her promise to Arohi of giving her Abhi as a toy. In fact, Akshara now looks liberated and free, since she herself admitted that she's saying the truth for the first time now instead of lying and pretending like she always does.

The truth is Akshu doesn't respect herself to stand up for her own beliefs or feelings. She was just being a cry baby and a doormat, giving into her crazy sister's unreasonable tantrums every single time, even if it went against her morals and beliefs.

The show has portrayed that Abhi is the only one who's been able to look into her soul and understand her motivations behind all that she was doing. He knew she was constantly lying and so he had to go missing for her to admit the truth. If looked at with reference to real life, both of them are idiotic characters, and Akshara is no saint as she's made out to be. She just pretends to be mahaan which she, in fact, is not.

How does the arranged marriage setup apply here? In an arranged marriage two parties get together and promise each other emotional fidelity and exclusivity. It's I don't love you right now but I might/will. And the ones where this is not a condition, it's really the parties who decide what their marriage constitutes. Abhi's proposal was bereft of any offer of an emotional component in this marriage. So no he didn't promise Arohi anything except his name. She'll be Arohi Birla, and get a legal tie. Beyond that, he made it clear that he was going to decide what counted as emotional fidelity and what she gets from him. She never once tried to raise an objection or clear this up with him.
