"There are two things you can run and not hide from- God and a dysfunctional family". (R.Alan Woods, The Journey is the Destination: A Photo Journal)

YEH KYA THA??🤪 After watching today's episode, that's the question that has been running in my mind.šŸ˜†

Here I was, worried to death that we may be dished out a memory loss track after the CVs were done appeasing us with the consummation scene...what followed was absolute CHAOS. Trust CVs to turn EVERYTHING serious into a joke by inserting oodles of drama

For starters, like it happens in countless Bollywood movies and TV soaps (how the diya starts flickering and then gets extinguished, symbolising the death of the main characteršŸ˜†) right before the "anhoni" was to happen to Raman, Toshi suddenly started feeling constricted in her chest, her mind running wild...ISHITA, who was working in the clinic also started feeling uneasy...as if something bad was about to happen..and both their reactions were linked to the bijli kadkoing outside...somehow, cinematically THUNDER AND LIGHTNING HAVE TO be associated with two eager souls consummating their love, or something dark and sinister like murder or maar-peet...ufff

Khair, from the clinic itself, Ishita called Raman...who had just reached the apartment and was in the parking lot...She was urging him to come back home soon...Raman in WHITE is a TREAT FOR THE EYES...Cannot sekofy my eyes enuff, I tell you!šŸ˜‰šŸ˜† And when the wind blew in his face, his smart cropped hair looked slightly swept..and the grin playing on his face as he talked to Biwi...wowwoowo!!

He was sending feelers to his wife, right over the phone "Tum ghar aa jao..aur bas tum...aur main" haaye...such invitations! Aise mein kaise control rahega hamara khud pe🤪

Anyway, at Iyer house, all the ladies have congregated...with Toshi discussing her premonitions..Simmi tries to calm her down, but Toshi ka dil dhak dhak kiye jaa raha hai..

In the meanwhile, 2-3 jeeps arrive and a bunch of 15-20 goons, approach and gherao Raman ...with lathis and other weapons in hand...without a word, they start beating him up...he gives it back too , to a couple of them...but they are one too many and he is slowly cowering under the impact of the attack...Ishita, who till seconds ago was laughing at his jokes, suddenly her face darkens as he hears the noise through the phone...scared, she calls out his name "Ramann..!!" "Ramannn kaun hai woh?" "Raman kya hua...kuch boliye naa!"

Anxious and desperate, while still holding on to her call with Raman (his phone had fallen down somewhere) she called Simmi up and asked her to go down with the others, coz some people were beating Raman up...

Suraj and Parmeetey, like pakka chors, were watching the fight sequence from the other side of the road, through the bushes...Parmeetey, somehow got the info from some "source" that none of the men in either families were at home and so it was a good time to attack him...

My husband, who was sitting with me wondered, "Aise hi apartment mein ghuske maar sakte ho kya kisiko? Where;s the security?"šŸ˜†

EXACTLY. I mean, Lambu doesnt have ANY marbles to speak of, but what's up with Suraj? Kya planning hai! Waah! Dushman ko peetne ke liye gunde bheje, woh bhi usi ke gufa mein? Usi ke ghar mein?!! And baarish hote hi security ghar bhaag jaati hai kya???

It seems the scriptwriters were tired giving us such Ishralicious moments from the past 4 days and so they decided to give their brains a rest and concocted this bit...It would have looked more believable had Raman been beaten up somewhere AWAY from his home...no, am not happy that he was beaten, in any case...just saying🤢

Immediately all the ladies came down...Toshi's reaction on seeing Raman getting beaten up was funny...she looked like she had seen a ghost...sorry, that made me laughšŸ˜† Madhvi's reaction was more spot-on and devoid of unnecessary theatrics...and what followed next was HILARIOUS, mostly...and gut-wrenching and emotional, in bits...

The ladies picked up brooms, wipers, chappals, sticks and godknowswhat to hit the goons...it was funny...it looked like Vaanar Sena had dropped down from Ramayana to set these goons rightšŸ˜†šŸ˜† I liked Mihika's expression when she saw Raman, beaten and bloodied...she was so concerned...

It was sad and heartbreaking to see Raman covered in blood...his body bruised with the brutal attack...since I was shit scared of the memory loss track following suit soon, I wasnt able to laugh off certain other things in the scene...

But yes...the ladies taking the goons al by themselves reeked of Women Empowerment, Mahila Morcha...and abso hilarity šŸ˜†šŸ˜†šŸ˜† Madhvi 'swept' up a lot of goons with the broom itselfšŸ˜† Toshi even used her strong, sturfy Punju hands to "manhandle" some of the gundas...

There was a point where one of the gundas tried to hit Raman on the head, with a lathi...Bhalla ji miraculously materialized on the scene and caught hold of the lathi and started beating the goon back with it...I liked the rage and indignance in his eyes, when he let out a sort of a war cry, "MERE BETE KO MAREGA!!" That was nice...it showed in his eyes how PROTECTIVE he was of his son...šŸ‘

Romi and Appa too joined in...Appa looked SCANDALISED hitting the gundas...šŸ˜†šŸ˜†šŸ˜† Maybe he was scared of breaking his code of peace and non-violencešŸ˜†

I also liked how Toshi singularly fought a gunda ...hitting him with his bare hands...and looking like she was gouge his eyes out...she was screaming like a banshee "Mere bacche pe haath uthaega...tere haath kaatke boti boti kar dungi" or something like that...For that one minute, Toshi had that MAD, RAGING look in her eyes...the kind a mother gets when she sees anything or anyone attack/harm her child...gave him goosebumps...and made me realise why Mothers can be such maniacal, powerful beings for their children...

A mother whose child is in any kinda danger can, and will go to any extent to protect her child...no matter how she does it! Good one, Toshi šŸ‘

Anyway, the attack and counter-attack scene between the gundas and the Iyers and Bhallas was mostly chaotic and funny, save those bits where Bhalla ji's and Toshi's maternal and paternal instinct came right back in place...but we should have understood that YHM CVs will soon be back to their usual standards and give us melodrama-filled episodes...so yeah, the ONLY consolation is that Bhalla family is united. Finally.😊

Anyway, they instantly rushed Raman to the hospital...It looked pretty serious, judging by their tensed faces and the amount of blood loss Raman visibly suffered...the doctor at the hospital said the same thing...but it all turned funny once Raman, lying on the hospital bed, saw the doctor readying his syringe ...

bas...injection dekha aur Raman ki batti gull ho gayišŸ˜†

He tried to get up off the bed...as Toshi and Ishita tried to restrain him...kisi bhi tarah se doctor ne injection laga hi diya...some bits in the hospital were funny...

The nurse who tended to him in the hospital was the same S.Indian nurse who helped in Vandu's delivery...remember, the grumpy-looking woman with a heavily accented Hindi and grandma glasses and two ponytails bobbing up and down on either side of her head...

After Raman's head got bandaged and he was injected and all, the nurse came and tried to dress wounds somewhere at the back of his head...

Raman got fidgety AGAIN. The nurse said, "Calm down"
"Kaam seekho" he yelled backšŸ˜†

The nurse, unable to argue much with this jumpy man, left him to his state...the doc came a while later and informed Raman he'd have to stay in the hospital...under observation, till they were doubly sure he suffered no internal injuries...anyway, Raman did a lot of nakhra...and said he wud rather go home...Ishita cracked down on him like an intelligence officer and said he would HAVE to stay here as the doc says...and she will make sure he gets all his injections...

Bhalla ji, Romi did their bit...in staying by his side and caring for him...Romi even yelled at the nurse for not doing the dressing properly 'Kya kar rahe ho aap? Dressing kar rahe ho ya deewar se paint nikaal rahe ho"

So yeah..it was MELODRAMATIC...down to the last bit...coz well...CVs HAD to unite the Bhallas and couldn't do it in a sensible manner...šŸ˜•

Personally, am GLAD they didnt go for the memory loss track...but then, I felt the scene could have been executed WAYYY better without making it look all haphazard and hurried...chaotic..and without inserting those funny elements in the hospital...I like humour, yes...but it felt misplaced...they could've spent time panning the camera on Toshi's, Bhalla ji's and Romi's faces...and displayed the range of emotions playing thru in these characters...the fear of losing a loved one...could've been shown in a much somber manner, which, ideally, would have complimented the fight sequence...except for a couple of Raman's lines, I wasn't laughing much...was just wondering WHY they had to insert melodrama as a concluding part of EVERY GODDAMN TRACK🄱

Khair...YHM ki aadat hi hai...serious se serious cheez ko mazaak mein udana...

I wasnt particularly moved or bowled over by today's episode...šŸ˜• coz I felt they could've done so much BETTER with this Uniting-Bhallas-is-our-mission track...but then, subtlety, without an overdose of excessive drama...as well as sensibility as well as a proper conclusion to a track has never been YHM CV's forte. We will let it rest at thatšŸ˜•

Anyway, it seems Shagun's love life will start soon...more than Bhallas reuniting, THIS gives me MUCH MORE HAPPINESS and reliefšŸ˜†šŸ˜†

First, the dhobi comes and gives the doc's clothes to Shagun..she inspects them and realises they aren;t hers...refuses to pay...dhobi says Shanti herself had given the clothes...she says - let her come back, maybe these are her husband's clothes...once she comes back, you can settle it with her

The doc flatmate, she is unaware of was on his way back to the flat, since he caught viral...she is at home...and gets a call on the landline...and wonders "Maine toh kisiko number nai diya hai" ...the doc is soon going to barge into the flat and then they'll have nain-matakka...each, wondering what the other is doing in "his" / "her" flat

I'd have looked forward to it...UNFORTUNATELY...the doctor looks younger to Shagun and like he could be her apprenticešŸ˜† is not the least bit good-lookingšŸ˜† and doesnt know the A of acting...and his chemistry with Shagun is most prolly gonna stink...Gosh!

I just realised - Rinky was the only one who wasn;t there at the hospital...but khair, she is the sort who will bemoan the fact that her Bhai came out of it alive...such a wretched woman she has turned into😔😔😔

Hi Akashna,
Nice review as usual.

My opinion is slightly different from yours. I liked the episode the second part could have been much better executed but still I liked it.

I also felt that if he was beaten somewhere it could have been good but I just convinced myself that the goons were following him and the only place they could find him alone were in his parking lot.

Toshjii intuition was good to see because normal usually a mother knows when there is something wrong with her child even if they are many miles apart so that was nice touch same way Ishita was also feeling unease that is called a woman intuition when her mate is in danger that was very well portrayed by DT those two scene touched my heart today.

Ishita worry about her Raman and she keeps chanting away Raman I was hoping that he would be fine even though I knew from OLV he will be fine but her acting kind of pulled you into. The way she was still listening on the phone even though she knew Raman could not answer but she wanted to hear Raman voice even if it meant he getting beaten up because that gave her hope he was alive and the minute the phone breaks she pulls over and the expression was awesome how terrified she was super acting by DTšŸ‘

When Ishita came home she only had eyes for Raman even though papajii and her appa were hurt she did not bother about others that shows how much he means to her.

I did not find any fault with woman fighting that was so real because they are not professional fighters so they used whatever they could find in the house to beat of the goons and for me I think the goons also got a little baffled I think as to how to handle these woman who they were not paid to fight.

Toshjii enacted very well as a protective mother and Bhallaji as protective father this shows no matter how old you are you will be always kids to your parents and Raman even though hurt stepped in front of both his mother and father to protect them from gundas this showed he is grown up and he is going to take care of his parents. I liked the CV subtly touch in that.

The hospital scene looked funny and people might think that CV introduced this as a comedy track but that is how Raman has been portrayed from beginning of YHM that he is afraid of needles and hospitals so if he suddenly accepted that he is okay with the hospital then I would have been cursing CV for another assassination of his character but they kept that in tack.

The thing I did not like in the second part is instead of Ishita scolding Raman to be there for treatment I wanted to watch the Ishita taking care of him in the hospital like when they went to the hospital for the first time and she was with him every step of the way so that he is not scared at that time they did not even realize they were in love with each other so this time around I wanted to see the same caring Ishita who takes away all his fears of the hospital instead we get a Ishita who is acting like a parents instead of a lover that is what I did not like in the second part.

Even though the scene was small I kind of liked Romi shouting at the nurse as he could not bear to see his brother in pain that showed Romi doesn't love his brother for only money so I guess once the momentary misunderstanding clear I will be happy to forgive Romi but not sure about Rinki though.

I don't understand Parmeet complain to a ministry what effect will it achieve because the company is run by all the employees. I understand the company boss is needed for signatures on the contract and money but if the boss is sick he has his minions to take care of everything so production is not stopped in the company and he has executives and CEO who can sign contracts on his behalf just because Raman is sick why would the ministry give the contact to Ashok

Oh I thought Suraj was a villain with brains but today he also proved that he doesn't have any brains by agreeing with Parameet and sending in goons after Raman instead of taking him down through family or business.

Shagun love life is going to start frankly I am not interested and I kind of don't like the doctor as well poor guy may be he is good actor just because he is linked to Shagun I don't like him that how CV have turned me against Shagun from a character I liked because it was grey and turned her into a full fledged vamp and shoved down our throats unnecessarily I kind of started hating to see her on the screen.

Raman was yummy in white shirts and black pants flirting with biwi he was so handsome to look at.

I am waiting for Toshjii to slap Rinki probably that would be in tomorrow episode.šŸ˜†

Res...Edited...
The IshRa phone convo of just a minute or so was so good...Puttar just wants to romance Biwi dear once she is back home...😳...

I think it is clear that the Cv's somehow wanted to be neutral with yesterday's fight sequence n it's aftermath...
1. They(Cv's) wanted Raman to be helpless in fighting against 10-12 goons so that his whole family, more importantly his Papaji, steps in to rescue him.
2. Even after fighting with 10-12 goons, they did not want to show a totally unconscious bed-ridden Raman but just wanted him to be hospitalized for a few days with some injuries, only so that Ishita can take up his responsibilities in his business thereby obviously paving way for some upcoming drama.
The whole fight sequence execution went a li'l out of control from the point the mahila morcha entered, to the point before Ishita reaches the spot. Toshiji's non-stop threatening to goons sounded like cricket commentary; bad sound mixing I must say...

Anyways the things I liked in the whole chaos..
1. Raman single-handedly trying to fight back the goons but then failing(not that I liked Puttar being beaten up)...The two creeps enjoying the sight was just😔...
2. Ishita becoming super tensed for her hubby dear...Good job by DT...She was tensed till the moment her husband regained consciousness in the hospital n started throwing kiddish tantrums..thereafter she was confused too n switched from a wifey mode to an almost parental mode...šŸ˜†...
3. Irrespective of both the parents being old and the son being injured severely, the trio turned fiercely protective for each other...
4. Ishita on reaching the spot had eyes only for her hubby n he just fell into her hands. That microsecond of a content smile from Raman on seeing his whole family around him before falling unconscious was heartwarming...

In hospital, the Cv's are cashing in on Raman's fear of hospitals n needles (n KP's comic timing indeed)...It was so cute to see Raman turning into a kid...😊...I think I liked it bcoz of KP, the actor...Again he had a slight smile on his face seeing Romi arguing with the nurse for him...And if yesterday he was throwing tantrums sitting on the bed, then today I guess he is gonna run all around the room..šŸ˜†...
"Someone who really loves you, sees what a mess you can be, how moody you can get, how hard you are to handle, but still wants you in their life", came across this line today, and surprisingly it was IshRa who came to my mind...😳...

Anyways seeing the latest OLV (Ishu conducting opinion poll for flavor of juicešŸ˜•), pretty unsure of how the Cv's gonna shape up the whole thing but I think I like one fact about it...The lady clearly knows the amount of hard work, dedication n sincerity her husband invests in making a business he committed successful and thereby how he is the strength of the family...So by stepping into an area which is completely alien to her with the support of the family, she is trying to show him that for all the unconditional love, care n concern he has given her n each n every member of his family, they will be there to support him in a difficult phase in both his personal as well as professional life...😊...

šŸ˜† šŸ˜† at the title and the opening sentence

EDITED
-----------

I watched 2 shows today: YHM & some random daily soap with good looking actors. Posting comments for each of them below. (For both the sets, Shagun & her love-life will be ignored, because I fast-forwarded that bit šŸ˜› šŸ˜†)

Random Daily Soap (with good looking actors)

šŸ˜† šŸ˜† šŸ˜† šŸ˜† šŸ˜†

This was my reaction throughout, even when the hero was getting beaten up (who btw looked smoking hot 😳) and the parents were fighting for him, and he, for the parents. Hilarious episode! And totally enjoyable 😃 Toshi's manhandling, Amma's tamil, Vandu's scattered hair, Sarika's tiny hands fighting, Bhalla ji & Appa's fighting - I was laughing throughout. Then Raman's antics in the hospital and Ishita's scolding, as if he was her kid instead of husband, and he was acting like a kid.

Not for one moment did I feel bored šŸ˜† Of course, for this part I kept logic aside and did not try to find any deeper meaning in any situation.

YHM

When I was looking at the episode through the lens of YHM, I was disappointed. Just because the actors have a good comic timing, doesn't mean everything has to be funny. There were more misses than hits for me today.

Hits:
  1. Raman flirting with Ishita on phone - They've reached a new level of comfort that I cannot even define, or maybe we're looking at them this way post their consummation. Whatever be the reason, they're now treating each other with more authority, as I mentioned yesterday. The way he called her 'Madam' to Mihir, felt she was missing him because she had called 5 times, asked her to come home quickly, hinted for some alone time for the two of them, blamed her for being unromantic, AND the way she kept telling him to take her seriously, about her nervousness and palpitations - Such a natural conversation! 😳 😳 😳 [Gush Alert: Puttar in white in his new hairdo - If looks could kill, I'd have been dead by now. Never been a KP fan per-se, more of a DivAn / IshRa fan, but KP is pulling me towards himself day-after-day-after-day ā˜ŗļø ā˜ŗļø]
  2. Ishita's reaction on phone - So tender and heart-touching. She could hear something wrong happening with Raman. The way she was shouting for him, kept calling his name out, her fear was contagious 😭 😭
  3. Raman's fighting hard, but getting beaten up. My heart went out to him 😭 😭 I couldn't get his blood soaked image out of my mind
That's all the hits I found. Rest everything else was a miss.

I felt that this track had HUGE drama and intensity potential. If they wanted to re-unite the Bhalla family, could've taken an emotional route instead of comic relief. Personally, I wanted to see Raman seriously getting injured and Ishita breaking down for him, the way she has broken down for Ruhi in the past. It had so much scope for all the actors to emote strongly, AND would have been a TRP fest too, because TRP aunties love tears and heroes struggling for life and heroines taking care of them. This could have been that moment for Ishita which Raman had during the earthquake. It'd have been so beautiful to watch. Heart-breaking, gut-wrenching, but beautiful. And the CVs ruined that potential with forced comedy.

Situationally, Ishita scolding Raman was not funny, Toshi treating him like a baby was not funny, him asking Bhalla ji to stay because he's scared of Ishita was not funny. Also, he was beaten black and blue, had so much blood loss that his shirt became red, and he seemed fine to me in the hospital, barring a few scratches, which I couldn't digest šŸ˜• Nothing against the actors because they did great as always, but disappointed with the writing.

Not that I'm not fond of laughing because I am, and KP, DT and the remaining YHM cast has stupendous comic timing šŸ‘ šŸ‘ But I had so much hopes from this fight sequence, which all went down the drain 😭 😭

So, as a viewer, I choose to watch today's episode as a random daily soap, with super good looking actors, and enjoy myself. No deeper meanings, no expectations 😃 😃

Very nice review...but i disagree with few points...n i did tell u dont see wierd n stupid spoilers...šŸ˜†

i wud like to differ here Aku... i liked the epi.. yes it was super melodrama.. yes it had no logic to beat him up in front of his apartment just coz his ghar ke mard are out or watever...n yes they turned a serious thing into comedy as they generally do..but i was moved eneuf to have few drops of tears...
1. first their conversation over phone...my god they will kill me one day...i love it when raman calls biwi ..madam...i just love that...n watver happens he just cant miss her call...so off he goes to recveive her call n request her to come...just u n me... for me... suddenly their chemistry has increased 10 folds after their Consummation...the same smiles , same lines makes me go more dhak dhak than it did before...n its my theory they did the night before as well...coz well raman was tired tht day too...lmao...okk enuf guttery talk...

2. that expression of ishita when she understood soemthing is the matter with raman...n her cry...her raman raman raman..made me cry..m not going to lie...i felt the pull... aku...u knw my puttar returns home verylate from offce n drives down the em bypass...n no matter how much ppl say...sleep, he will come when he has to come...i cant seem to sleep...even at 4 am... well..will i be able to save him, if something has to happen...no..but still staying awake n beside the phone makes me feel a lil better..so i get it if ishita feels uneasy for him... coz i do feel that prty often when it is too late or raining heavily...u knw the em by pass road urself...

3. toshi ji s expression...yes she was doing a dharam paaji ...but a mom goes crazy when it comes to ur child...u have extra power then... so when she said who r u all...n y r u hurting my baby...i felt the tears pricking...

4. puttar getting beaten up...my dil did go dhak dhak...i knew the comedy is coming...yet i cudnt control it...

5. n i was relieved with the comedy coz that means puttar is fine...n he wanted biwi to do his patti... m telling u puttar has one track mind...

6. even in hospital...i dont knw if it is me or it is real..their nokjhok n everything...both as if have some extra haq over each other...

so over all..i liked the epi... even if it was melodrama...

PS: m least concerned abt shagun n her saintly activites n her love story...coz from where i see..Raman Kumar Bhalla is in love with Ishita raman bhalla..irreversably...so no going back. Bas.

hi

On a serious note [ just the kind of YHM ] what an episode
I thought it would be really serious that goons gonna beat him to death
and then the family finds him down the apartment.
among all it was vandu I think who took the rods to beat them up.
principal mam is very bold. more than her Mrs iyer came up with broom. ROFL she swept all their faces so well.
OMG TOSHI ji . she is too amazing. its actually her fight scene.

i expected hospital scene to be serious . i was expecting raman will forget his past. hospital scence is very funny . and nurse of vandu. 🤣
