Excellent post Megha...

To be fair to the makers, they stayed away from the stereotyped-heroine avatar for a long time.

They had Mihika, who could beat up a bunch of people when mistreated. Even at the beginning of this Ashok track I remember she said I will beat up Ashok if he tries anything with me. Why should I be afraid and sit at home?

And then there was Ishita, the woman who, once upon a time, told her mother she didnt need a husband. She was happy to adopt a child alone. She didnt seem to be the type who bowed down to anything or anyone.

Even Ishita's marital home was quite refreshingly different from a typical in-laws/new bahu model. Any grief Ishita got from Simmi & Toshi was because they believed Param, and not because Ishita was considered a witch who could lure Raman away from the Bhalla family

*** and then, things changed (I am of the opinion they started changing both these women in preparation for the new time slot)

They wanted to make sure they didnt turn this into a typical saas-bahu soap even with the new timeslot. Instead they tried selling these 2 characters to us as evolved, unique, morally righteous, selfless and strong women.

Only, they went too far.

No one with an ounce of self-respect would bring their husband's ex into their bedroom. Not just once, but twice. This has nothing to do with purity, goodness or humanity. Shagun could have stayed in Ruhi's room/Simmi's room/even Romi's room. Even when we have guests at home, and we need to accommodate them, the 'single' people lose their bedrooms first. that's just like an unsaid rule no?

No one would tolerate an outsider insulting their parents (EVEN if their parents were at fault)

No one would go out of their way to 'trap' a molestor only to show the truth to the molestor's partner (both cases Param-Simmi & Ashok-Shagun)

A fair and evolved woman wouldnt say she need not give character certificate to anyone. She would try and understand why someone even thinks she needs a character certificate.

A modern and morally righteous woman would have slapped her husband the day she was 'attacked' by him

I am not even going into the relationship they showed between Mani and Ishita in the beginning. I think they went way overboard.

A modern woman doesnt have to display loss of intelligence to show gain of maturity... That is what I am trying to say

Now coming to Ishita taking care of Shagun yes being a Ishita fan I didnt like that one bit. I dont know in the name to drama what CVs want to show! You know I have never defended Ishita when she did right things in wrong way. I definitely dont mind when ppl in forum criticize her for Mahanta and not giving importance to Raman and stuff like that. But yes I do get hurt when people call her ghatiya, disgusting etc which she definitely is not!! I just want Ishita to soon realize what Shagun is or want Raman or Toshiji to put some sense into her. Hope CVs dont drag this track too much! Only good thing is we would see father-son bonding and many be Ishima & Adi.

Ya Asmi look gud I have joked etc 😆 But seriously Y portray a wrong image in society, if they had to make Mihika marry Ashok - they cud have used some other trick like Mihika is unable to pay for dress she ruined etc. 😆 Some other dumb excuse than making her marry her molestor 😕

I think each of us have different sensibilities - some people can't bear Ishita's wrongs some people can't bear Raman's wrongs, keeping all that aside I am not thinking from a wife perspective. I feel n completely my interpretation of ISHRA as a couple - Ishita is more dominating in this relationship. When it comes to love she wants her partner perfect n to act according to what she wants: Nothing wrong in it. While she goes all mad and beat up the guy in public not once does the guy says that stop ur idiocy and think for once "WHY" m I divorcing u? When the guy himself does not speak up Y shud I expect Ishita to be the always understanding one in this marriage? She has been wrong at many places (sending Ruhi to shogun without asking Raman, Mani obsession) but Raman ignored her wrongs n bearing it. She too is ignoring his past baggage and she ignored his rude behavior n manhandling in the past.

But when it comes to a woman bearing insults lashed upon their parents I don't think any daughter can take it up.

Totally agree with you...

Mihika knows, her respect is intact, her family is supportive and most importantly, the love of her life still wants her in his life desperately, so what is the need to go and get married to Ashok ? Sending Mihir to jail for a small beating is not a huge crime, u can easily get out of it by paying some amount plus Raman is as big as Ashok to fight him out... Marrying Ashok is plain stupidity.

Secondly, Ishita behaving this way is another big put off... Y wud the whole family be bothered about Shagun ? She stays with Mihir and can continue to do so. Raman can easily fund Adi's and her expenses. When Ruhi's case can be re-opened, y is Adi's custody case not being re-opened by Raman, when he is seeing how badly it needs to be re-opened.

- Adi committing Accident

- Adi framing Ishita in child Abuse case

- Adi disrespecting ppl

- Shagun's inappropriatness to give him adequate time and now provide him with basic necessities.

Shagun ca n claim Alimon from Ashok easily as he has dumped her and get the comfort which she is yearning for.

Y is she behaving as if she is on roads. Y can't she be shown using her brain for once properly ?

seeing the OLV pic, I felt ishita is taking lice out of shagun's hair🤢

ishita is capable of even asking raman to spend time with shagun and show some love so that she dont go into depression... maybe give company in bedroom😕

About adi... he does not exist for me... i feel he is just a character CVs use to bring dirty twists... nothing more
