To be fair to the makers, they stayed away from the stereotyped-heroine avatar for a long time.

They had Mihika, who could beat up a bunch of people when mistreated. Even at the beginning of this Ashok track I remember she said I will beat up Ashok if he tries anything with me. Why should I be afraid and sit at home?

And then there was Ishita, the woman who, once upon a time, told her mother she didnt need a husband. She was happy to adopt a child alone. She didnt seem to be the type who bowed down to anything or anyone.

Even Ishita's marital home was quite refreshingly different from a typical in-laws/new bahu model. Any grief Ishita got from Simmi & Toshi was because they believed Param, and not because Ishita was considered a witch who could lure Raman away from the Bhalla family

*** and then, things changed (I am of the opinion they started changing both these women in preparation for the new time slot)

They wanted to make sure they didnt turn this into a typical saas-bahu soap even with the new timeslot. Instead they tried selling these 2 characters to us as evolved, unique, morally righteous, selfless and strong women.

Only, they went too far.

No one with an ounce of self-respect would bring their husband's ex into their bedroom. Not just once, but twice. This has nothing to do with purity, goodness or humanity. Shagun could have stayed in Ruhi's room/Simmi's room/even Romi's room. Even when we have guests at home, and we need to accommodate them, the 'single' people lose their bedrooms first. that's just like an unsaid rule no?

No one would tolerate an outsider insulting their parents (EVEN if their parents were at fault)

No one would go out of their way to 'trap' a molestor only to show the truth to the molestor's partner (both cases Param-Simmi & Ashok-Shagun)

A fair and evolved woman wouldnt say she need not give character certificate to anyone. She would try and understand why someone even thinks she needs a character certificate.

A modern and morally righteous woman would have slapped her husband the day she was 'attacked' by him

I am not even going into the relationship they showed between Mani and Ishita in the beginning. I think they went way overboard.

A modern woman doesnt have to display loss of intelligence to show gain of maturity... That is what I am trying to say

Once a firebrand Mihika is now nothing but a doormat. We all know about her famous dumbness, so I wouldn't go there. But after the recent kaand, she seemed to repent her action. Then why did she marry her molester? If she's faking it then it looks more bad. Most probable reason could be that Ashok blackmailed her saying he would send Mihir to prison otherwise. Well, Mihir is not a newbie when it comes to stay in a jail. If she remembers well, she and her Ishita akka sent him there without any of his faults. And, Raman, the best CEO in India, has more than enough capability to solve this matter on his own. Yet she opted to marry her molester!! If she's faking it, I want Mihir to man up and dump her at the end of this track saying he needs someone REAL as his life partner.

Ishita Bhalla has NO self-respect. Period. Being mahaan doesn't mean that you will bring your husband's ex-wife in your bedroom again and again. Does she care about Raman's feelings? Does she care about her parents reputation? Don't think so.Shagun is the same woman who tagged her parents as gold-diggers, accused her sister as a wh*re. Last time when she brought Shagun in her bedroom, Raman was badly hurt and she did apologize to him in the end. Then why did she bring her this time and become maid to her? Oh! I get it now..!! A woman who could bring her attempted rapist back in her house and tie a rakhie on his hand, she can do any obnoxious thing with her pea sized brain. 😆
