MAUNVRAT ...
In the last couple of weeks .. this word has crept up so many times in this serial .. that some of the antennas started catching the signal finally ... (PHEW .. said the writer)
What was the significance of Maunvrat ... why did it creep up so often ... if this is a question thats popped in ur mind as well .. then here goes ...
I would also like to thank GANBARUNFAN .. for using the word REFLECTIONS in her post today .. she made her post after the 7;30 telecast .. & though i saw her post .i had not watched the episode till then . it was with the idea of REFLECTIONS in the back of my mind that i saw the episode .. so thank u ...
It was a day for past reflections today ...
She for the moments she spent with him ..
He for the man he was .. the nerd ...
The biggest moment in todays episode for me was ... they spoke ... yes they talked .. even tabled the fabled word .. LOVE ... but wrapped it up in mythical terms ...
YEs they spoke .. but they both were in MAUNVRAT ...
She spoke of a third person .. & she spoke referring to a third person ..
He answered thinking of the third person ... thinking it was for the third person ...
When is speech important ...when u are able to talk ... but when is speech useless when u r quiet .. but words are coming out ...
Maunvrat .. isn't that what ISHITA & RAMAN have been 'IN' for the last say 5 months of their marriage ... coz the day he brought her home once again ... after the Param fiasco ... That is the first day this couple SPOKE ...
yes they did speak .. he said sorry . she said sorry ... BUT DID THEY SPEAK ... no they did not ...
She did not voice what she expected from him .. he did not voice what she meant to him ...

Just 2 days back she cried out to him .. i have not expected anything from u ... he said .. if u don't expect from me .. why are u asking ...
I wrote on saturday post that the "pal pal badhe yeh hai mohbbatein" started after the Param fiasco .. & u saw a reflection of that in that episode...
because it was that day in her room .. when he had come to take her back to her HOME .. that she needed to tell him .. WHAT SHE EXPECTED FROM HIM ... cause when she walked out of her HOME .. she looked back EXPECTING HIM TO STOP HER ... ENTREATING HIM TO HOLD HER BACK ...
But she kept quiet that day in her room .. she said sorry .. she said a thank u .. but she did not tell him why she said sorry .. or why she said Thank u .. nor did he ask her .. WHY ...
That day was the first day of MAUNVRAT for these 2
As days progressed .. their relation stabled .. there were many a times they spoke .. an evening stroll in their building .. they spoke about a "gift" ..he asked her . was my gift gaudy .. she said .. the gesture was sweet ...
He did not ask her .. Why was the gesture sweet ... nor did she ask him .. what prompted him to get her a gift .. clearly this relation was about RUHI .. a simple overhearing of a convo of Ishita with Bala .. prompted a gift the very next minute .. but once again .. they side stepped that talk ...
Yes they still maintained their MAUN ...
Then one evening .. at a glittering party they spoke ... of course they did .. she said .. be nice to ur past .. let it not affect u ... he was amazed at her ability to think of all even someone who clearly did not think a gud thing for her ...

She did not ask him .. did Shagun HOLD SO MUCH SWAY over him ... nor did he ask her ... WHY WERE U HURT that i dint share & why were u not hurt about the fact that i was going against u ?... clearly the relation was about RUHI even then ..
She stood by him as his anchor ... just the way he stood by her as her anchor when her mother was struggling ... both realising what the other way doing .. but both not speaking about it ...

Todays episode ...
A couple struggling with the word LOVE ... he wants her to say it .. he tells her .. one day i will make u say it .. one day u will say it .. one day i will hear it from u ...
she wants to see a sign that he loves her .. she yearns for his love .. she is desirous of his love ...
but today when she spoke of Love .. of second chances .. he rubbished her ... hmmm isn't that what we all thot .. well .. NO he did not rubbish LOVE ..
So lets recreate the scene ..
She is sitting in front of the mirror & this time she is facing the mirror & looking at raman .. who is a changed Raman .. but she is still seeing a REFLECTION of RAMAN .. she is NOT FACING HIM ...
She asks him about Love .. but she says .. MY FRIEND MANi .. was speaking about second chances ... what do u think ...
Raman says .. Love debilates ur body .. ur ability to perform .. ur ability to exist .. it takes over .. so better to stay away ...
Now lets pause here please ...
One he did not rubbish love.. he just said .. LOVE TO HIM IS ALL CONSUMING .. it takes over every part of u ... & then rules u ...
( honestly this guy is truly a very very very big romantic 😳 .. madam Ishita's a lucky one)
Two ... he thinks she is talking about MANI .. Mr. CHUSSA HUA AAM ... Mani = Murli = Nerdy Raman ...
This is the man .. Nerdy Raman .. who was in an all consuming relation .. a relation which ruled him inside out .. ruined him inside out .. & destroyed his ability to perform ... coz according to Raman .. a man like Murli / Ravindra / Nerdy Raman .. cannot HOLD A WOMAN ...
So as he sat there and answered her query .. he was posturing Mani as himself of the past .. the man who was ruined at the hands of an all consuming love ... a man who did not have what it took to hold a woman ... & he also thot .. here was a guy who was sucker punched at the hands of a past love .. but that did not have much of an impact on him as in he did not look like he came out VICTOR .. he was still a NERD .. A NEEDY GUY .. if he fell in love once again .. the poor guy would not recover ..
It basically all boiled down to .. MANI = MURLI = NERDY RAMAN
What will happen when Raman knows Mani is not d nerdy self?? Not a chusa aam??
Will he use money n material to woo his wife??? Or will he bring up d needy Raman on the forefront??? Will d jealousy bring more bitterness in Raman??? He is sure to fight for his love indeed... But will his momentary anger allow his heart to hear ishita's dil ki baat?? He will surely confess his feelings as a result of his frustrations... But will he show d same patience to listen to ishita's heart???
Or ishita initially will have to bear d pain of being ignored??
It will hard to convince Raman after witnessing Mani n ishita's closeness their comfort...
With the upcoming shagun ashok wedding n awaited twists I don't think their confession will b on smooth grounds...

And as this discussion wound down between the 2 ... there was a knock on the door ... & there stood THREAT ...
Mani > Murli > Nerdy Raman this was SO ... not part of the calculation ...
Now lets look at REFLECTIONS ...
She spoke to Raman's reflection in the mirror ... reflection is artistically shown as the past in creative world ... she spoke to the man who she thot still loves his past ... because she was not speaking to the man .. but his reflection...
Similarly . Raman was staring at his computer screen & answering while . looking at his vague reflection . a very hazy picture comes out when u see urself in the reflection of ur computer monitor ...
Now just pause for a moment here ...
The other day after MiMi roka .. he lifted her face & told her to look in his eyes & say .. she did not love him .. she could not answer him...
To talk feelings they both will have to look at each other .. they will need to SEE EACH OTHER .. & not see a reflection of the person ..
She will need to FACE the fact that he is LONG OVER HIS PAST .. & he is LOOKING AT HER >> HIS FUTURE ..
He will need to FACE THE FACT ... that she loves RAMAN / RAAVAN / NERDY RAMAN ... the COMPLETE MAN ... he will have to see THAT HE COMES FIRST In her AFFECTIONS ...
HE will need to FACE her to see SHE IS FACING HIM .. HER FUTURE ...
This marriage started in a small coffee shop . where they pledged to each other 7 times .. SIRF RUHI KE LIYE ... They kept looking at each other that night in the cafe & repeated the words like a mantra .. SIRF RUHI KE LIYE .. They will need to FACE EACH OTHER AGAIN ... & see in each others eyes ... it was so not about SIRF RUHI KE LIYE ...
So a seemingly .. nondescript episode ..packed so much REAL ROMANCE in it ... yes it was all about MAUNVRATS & REFLECTIONS ...
but what do they say .. the winds have turned tide ... the winds of change just blew in thru the door of IYER HOUSE ... 😉
