Chapter 7

Uma was shocked to hear about her inherit property. He said she told me once that once she will be of 21 she will inherit her parents property but it will cost this much I had no idea. Ved asked what would be the next step. Uma said call to her uncle Mahesh . let's see what he has to say about it. Ved said okay .

Uma : Do you know about the property which she will inherit next month ?

Mahesh : I know it since her childhood but what difference does it make.

Uma : it does make if anything happens to her as you are her only relative it will be transferred to you.

Mahesh : This is nonsense you mean to say that I murdered that rahul just to get her property. This is disgusting . I know about it since she came to me and as far as relation is concerned so I am not only her living relative . Yamini is also alive and she has marriage me only for money and she is greedy whole world knows it.so why don't you ask her.

Uma : Don't panic it just a question not an allegation. Have a water.

Mahesh had some water.

Mahesh : Uma I thought you will help me. You can make this case weak so we can easily win. And you know yamini had cancelled your engagement as she never wanted Kanak to get married but it was me who made this happened and I always encouraged her to study hard as she has to look after everything. And you are blaming me. Sorry Umashankar it's not me . You are in wrong direction.

Uma asked where were you at the time of murder.

Mahesh: I will not lie I was in Ooty I have a girlfriend and I had came to meet her.

Uma : Can you give me her name and address.

Mahesh : No I can't as it will malign her reputation. You can think whatever you want but I am in trouble marriage and everyone knows about it so I don't regret my relationship. Infact I am planning to divorce yamini but I know she will not set me free as all her expenses will be cut off.

Uma said okay you can leave now but not from city we may call you back.

Mahesh said okay.

Uma called sonal

Sonal : This is rubbish why I would kill rahul . he has problems with Kanak not with me and I hardly talk to him and that night I was not in town I was in Goa for shoot and why would I do it I don't have anything against Kanak nor I am going to gain anything. And Uma you know we are friends since first year.

Uma said relax it's a part of our job that's why we are questioning everyone nothing more. He offered her water she drank and left.

Uma said to ved take fingerprints of both the glasses and I want to meet yamini ASAP. Just call her.

Ved said can I do it tomorrow as I'm tired for today. Uma said yes you can because I need you to be fresh by tomorrow because we will investigate crime scene tomorrow and how to forget that sleeping is you hobby and ved replied just like photography is your right. Infact if I remember you met Kanak while photography and accidentally she was photographed right . Uma said exact and you still remember. Ved said how can I forget you almost ate my head. I never saw you like that. Okay so for today night you will cherish your past memories and I will have my sleep.

They both left . Uma visited the hospital Kanak was sleeping he saw her and left.

Chapter 8

Uma saw Kanak was sleeping peacefully he put her blanket and left from hospital. Ved and Uma arrived at their guest house . ved gone to his room for a sleep after the hectic day but his words were running in Uma's mind. He remembered his first meeting with Kanak. He had completed his assignment and was on paid leave with ved. They were deciding where to go. Ved was tired so he just wants to relax but they got leave for just 3 days so they want to go nearby to Mumbai hence theHedecided panchgani would be suitable for them as they will be back in 3 days and Uma could do a bit photography as well. They arrived early at the morning before sunrise. Uma just unpacked his bags ved was sleep. Uma take a shower and was ready to go for some pictures. He attempted to wake up ved.

Uma : ved wake up we have to go.

Ved : not we only you have to go we are here for relaxing and right now I am doing it.

Uma : but we decided that we will take some nice pictures and by sometime it will be sunrise. It will be a beautiful view after that I have to buy something for Maasa as well. Please wake up.

Ved : No I am not coming. And as far as shopping is concerned get something for me as well.

Uma : okay I am leaving but don't blame me later .

Ved waved goodbye.

Uma came near sunrise spot and it was beautiful view orange sky and cool breeze he was taking photos of what ever he liked. Humming birds on flowers and much more. There was a small waterfall nearby so he decided to take the picture of that as well. He zoomed his camera and saw a very beautiful girl under waterfall. He gets close to the waterfall. The girl was wearing a mini saree and was sitting under waterfall. The water was falling on her body . her wet hair beautiful eyes. He was mesmerized by her beauty she dived in water and swimmwd to the pond nearby she was also seeing sunrise from the pond. Uma started taking her pictures. She was humming the song. She was playing with butterflies and flowers . but after a moment she was disappeared. He came there to see her but she was nowhere. He was searching for her and was about to slip but someone hold him. And she was the same girl. He smiled and said you are very beautiful what is your name. She said non of your business. He asked I am a tourist over her are you a local or a tourist. She said non of your business. He said okay by the way you often come here. She again said non of your business. She asked have you taken my pictures. He said yes. She said may I see it. He said sure you can he handed her camera. She throws it into the water and said next time if I see you near to me you will be arrested you don't know me. Moron. She left angrily. He saw her for a moment and dived into the pond and take his camera from the pond.

He came running to the hotel and waked up ved. Ved was surprised to see him and asked I thought you have taken bath before leaving the room so what's this. He said don't ask just retrieve the data from this camera. He said that the camera is broken and has water in it. He said it's not possible I mean it will take time. Uma said do it as soon as possible. He throw water on him not letting him to sleep.

After sometime ved was working with his laptop and was retrieving the data. He said the picture is broken I have to merge it. Uma said just do it asap. Ved saw the pictures and smiled. He said Uma you told me you will bring something for me. Is it for me. Uma said yes bro she is your sister in law. Now we have to search here. Ved asked are you fine. He said I am not I have not seen such a beautiful girl in my life and was mesmerized by someone for the first time. I have to meet her.

Chapter 9

Ved retrieved the images from camera and said I can't believe that I have wasted my leaves on retrieving the data and finding about the girl who will be your at the end. I mean why don't you did it. What I will be getting in the end. Nothing. Uma said don't worry your name will be written in the golden words in my love story and I told you because you have a very good contacts and are very good in technical issues. Ved said congratulations I found out regarding her she is not a criminal so nothing is found in police records but I checked with social records database. So found this things. Uma checked the data sheet . Her name is Kanak her father was a millionaire and she is their only daughter. Her parents are dead and her legal guardian is her uncle Mahesh and aunt Yamini and she is 20 yrs and is a alumni in National college in panchgani.

Uma just hugged ved and said thanks bro you made my life. I owe you this. Ved said nothing is mentioned about her personal life. Uma asked what do you mean. Ved said she is rich and beautiful so there is a high possibility that she has a boyfriend. And what if she has a serious relationship so I advice you that let remain her like a attraction or a crush. Don't go or else your heart will be crushed. Uma said I agree with you. But unless I meet her how can she come to know that what God has decided for her. And first let me go and meet her. I promise I will not pressurize her but just want to know her. Ved said okay than you can go today itself she is taking part in inter college singing and dancing competition and today is her finals so just go and meet her. Uma asked how you know about it. Uma reached the venue but the security guard stopped him and asked for ticket. Uma tricked him by saying that there is a security treat here and he is a CBI officer so came here to check. Security guard called the manager. Manager was worried and asked whether he should cancel the event. Uma said no not at all as it may be a prank call but still he wants to be assured. Manager take him inside. Kanak was dancing on the stage and it was a face off . she did everything from classical to contemporary and in the end she was declared as the winner. Uma was sitting on the front encouraging her. She also saw her and was annoyed. For singing competition there was still time so she went to green room she told sonal about Uma. Sonal said don't worry it may be a coincidence just concentrate on singing. She said I will. In the singing competition as well she won and cheif guest gave her prize.

After the event was finished everyone congratulated her and Uma also came there. He said I am confused you look beautiful or you sing well or you dance well. Would you please clarify me. She said even I am confused you are a deaf stubborn or shameless. Would you please clarify me. He said I am none of them. But a very decent guy who respect girls very much. She said if you respect than why don't you listen to them I warned you that if you follow me you will be jailed give me a second I will call the police and they will clarify you. She was about to make a call manager arrived and asked everything is fine officer. Uma said everything is alright don't worry. Kanak asked do you know him. Manager replied that he is CBI officer Umashankar there was a treat to security so he came here to check. Kanak was shocked.

Chapter 10

Next morning ved waked up Uma and said again in past. He said no. Ved asked don't lie as I saw you smiling while you were sleep . He said yes there are some memories which brings smile today as well. But that's a different story today we have to go to crime scene so are you ready. Ved said yes infact I have called that servant as well who has informed about the murder. Uma asked and what about rahul's cellphone. Ved said I have checked with the officer it was not present at crime scene but don't worry we will find it. Ved said may I ask you something. Uma said go ahead. Ved asked have you told Kanak that you still love her and want her back . uma said no infact we have not talked properly once she will be fine I will tell her. And believe me I am waiting for that moment. Ved said and what about others. Uma said first let's concentrate on case. They both went to rahul's home.

Uma said rahul's house is hardly 15 minutes far from hostel so anyone can come her anytime. Ved said yes let's go to his bedroom where he was murdered. They both went. Uma checked everything. He found a button . He kept it as a evidence. He saw everywhere. Under bed he saw some pieces. He asked the vacuum cleaner and cleaned under the bed. When he emptied the cleaner he found Mobile pieces. He put them together. He also found blood stains on mobile. He put all things together. He also collected the dust from dustbin. Ved said that the servant is arrived. He came to him and asked about rahul's character.

Servant : Rahul was the character less man. Alcohol, smoking girls he has all bad habits and had a very bad temper hence he use to stay here alone.

Uma : what about his friends ?

Servant : yes he had some friends but just like him. They used to party every Saturday night. Almost all weekend drinking and smoking would not stop.

Uma : on last Saturday when he was murdered at that time was he planning to party.

Servant : No there was a farewell party at college so everyone was there including Rahul. But he came home after sometime.

Uma : was he alone.

Servant : yes and asked for drink but couldn't have it.

Uma : Why

Servant : sir every weekend as he party a lot so on Saturday we keep the bar full but on that day the maid was not there so the glasses were not clean and when he saw unclean glass he lost his temper and smashed it on ground. I told him that I will clean the glass but he denied and told me to leave and also told the watchman to go as he doesn't want to be disturb. So I cleaned the floor and left.

Uma : Do you find anything strange in his behavior.

Servant : only one thing that he told us to leave but didn't locked the doors and on next morning it was unlock I mean if he was supposed to sleep so why he didn't lock it.

Uma checked the bar and found a half bottle of whiskey.

Uma asked you said he didn't drink so what is this.

Ved come there and said he drank that night according to his post mortem reports there was alcohol in his blood and if you look at the table you will find a glass there which was used by him as it has his fingerprint. Uma closely looked at the bar and left. He said ved please try to retrieve the data from his phone . Also I want to talk to hostel watchman. Make sure he comes to police station. Uma said I am thirsty lets go to any store. There was a general store so he asked the owner have you seen any thing. He said nothing strange it was as usual.

Uma said if you remember anything just inform us. He said okay.

Uma went to see Kanak. Kanak was awake he bought her something to eat. He said I know you don't like hospital food. She thank him. He asked did you remember anything about that night. She said nothing I have told you everything. Uma said okay just relax I will come by evening . She said Uma one thing I don't know whether it is relevant or not but I remember that it was feeling like I am on the back of the the moving car. Like how do you feel when you are laid on the back seat and the car is moving. He asked did you see anything . She replied no I was so sleepy that I didn't see anything. Uma said don't worry and if you remember anything just call me. He left from there.

Ved said I have called watchman he will be here by sometime and these are Kanak bail papers she got the bail. Uma said really uncle has managed it. Ved said no not her uncle but him Mr gaurav. He asked who is Mr gaurav. A man entered and said I am gaurav her fiance. Uma was shocked.
