Chapter 6
Ved told Uma that press is waiting for us. He was surprised and in the conference room he was flooded with questions.
Reporter : Is this an attempt to suicide ?
Uma : No it's just a food poisoning nothing else.
Reporter : what you think will she will be hanged or life sentence for this brutal murder.
Uma : court will decide it not me right now I am just investigating.
Reporter : why it's taking so long it's a open and shut case.
Uma : This case is given to me just 2 days back and right now I am just working on evidence.
Reporter : you have a good reputation but still it's taking long .
Uma : Before coming to any judgement I want to be clear nothing else.
Uma said be rest assured I will make sure culprit will get punished. He walk out of the conference room.
Uma said to ved that I want all the details not only of victim but everyone one related to this case and one more thing where is rahul's cellphone. I mean it was not in evidence. Ved said I check with local officer. Doctor called Uma and said that Kanak is conscious now. Uma said I will be back.
He goes to hospital. Kanak was sitting on bed. He said you should take rest. She said I don't know for how many days I can relax I mean I have to go back to prison some time. He put his hand on her shoulder and said relax I am here and everything will be fine. She moved her right hand to hold his hand but screamed out of pain. He asked what happened. She said on Saturday night I hurted myself I think it's paining. He moved up her sleeve and saw wound. He was worried. He asked her what happened.
She said you know how the hostel washroom is. While coming out a nail stuck on my dress and I got this wound. He said have you applied any ointment. She said when to apply on Saturday I was depressed and on Sunday I got arrested and today is Tuesday. Do you think now it matters. He said it still matters to me. He put the ointment to her and laid her back and said relax.
Something came to his mind. He gone back to her hostel room which was sealed for investigation. He checked the washroom and found a cloth piece still stuck to it. He called ved and said that once again collect all the evidence. Ved said okay.
He came there and checked the night suit. Ved said what are you checking. Uma said ved we are sure that the killer was wearing this cloth while murdering. Ved said yes I mean it's blood stains on it. Uma said than it's sure that someone else was present there as Kanak night suit was torn before the murder and this cloth is perfectly fine. So that mean someone has bought a night suit similar to her murdered rahul and changed the cloths.
Ved said you may be right but only this cloth piece will not prove her innocence we need to find out that third person if your theory is right. And one more thing you told me to find out everything next month on Kanak's birthday she will inherit her parents property and it's worth 750 crores. Uma was shocked.
