I lost a dear member to cancer and it took some time to be out of shock and grief to be back to pen down the story. May his soul rest in peace and his family finds the strength to move on with his memories.

Chapter 35B

Worried glances were thrown by Khushi at Arnav who did everything from accompanying La to the grocery shopping to helping La's mother in the kitchen to avoid speaking to her. No words were exchanged after him literally thrusting the mobile phone packed in a colorful packet which was actually meant to be given as a gift to Khushi by a surprise as he wanted them to have no barriers to communicate with each other at any time. But Khushi's adventure left him anxious leaving the planned surprises to the wind and resulted in him throwing the object at her in a gentle manner before he melts to her tears.

"I need to speak to you" before he could finally escape for the day Khushi was blocking his way to the gate.

"Let me go Khushi " he tried pushing her to the other side with his left hand.

"You have no time for me now?" she held the hand which came her way trying to side her. This is not the way she wanted the talk to happen. It sounded like an accuse, she wanted to bridge the gap between them not to make the situation worse but with Arnav's continuous dismissal of her attempts and in a need to stop him she spelled words which doesn't bring her true intentions out.

"Have you ever had time for me other than for our mystery solving?" his intention was to leave and he took a step forward too but with her accusation, he turned back glaring at her, the pent up emotions started to flow.

"How can you say that? whatever is between us is it only about Nk?" she took a step forward coming to the level of his eyes glaring back.

"What are you trying to conceal here? Our friendship, everything that is transpiring in my life now, didn't it start because of your stupid worry for that kid?" he took a step forward with his eyes boring into her, his hand still in her hold.

"My worry was not stupid, it indeed turned out to be true, you should have seen him yesterday in that state, there was no way I would have left him there and returned back, and aren't we doubting your father too in this before you left for Lucknow, if I'm not wrong." she wanted him to feel her pain of seeing the only closest member to her in pain and justify her actions.

"Nothing is confirmed yet about my dad, you could wait till I returned, I have planned something which wouldn't put your lives into danger" he was near to shouting at her.

"Why don't you get it? No one is more important to me other than NK, I can do anything for him and I will do the same if required." her voice rose up a notch.

", but guess what the feelings are not reciprocated," he shouted at her, released his hand and walked away before he hears any more of her unconditional concern for the kid.

Payal woke up startled. Confused seeing her surroundings she tried to get up but was pushed back by Khushi."You need some serious rest" she spoke handing her a glass of water.

Quenching her thirst Payal tried to recollect the incidents and her presence with these people. Without giving her a chance to join the dots, La walked in and explained how she got a call from an unknown number at the middle of the night who turned to be Khushi who was in need of her help. Once reaching there she was shocked with the presence of her superior at work in a bad condition so they drove back with the kid on her bike and upon reaching La's mother helped in giving the first aid.

"So, I guess it's our turn to know how u reached there and that too in that condition?"Payal started with how her family was against her wish to marry the person of her choice and how she eloped with him to later find out he was vicious. Seeing a chance to escape she ran away from the place she was held hostage which led her into the woods, where she met Khushi.

By this time Arnav came rushing once he was informed that Payal gained consciousness, maybe he finds answers to some of the questions.

"How are you related to Hari Prakash?" no more wasting of time.

"He, he is my uncle, my mother's brother." she wanted to ask further on how the guy knew about her family but Arnav gave her no chance to ponder on thoughts but to simply answer him.

"Why was living the life of house help in the disguise of an old man who is left with no one in this world when he has his family in the same city." he wanted to add further how the old man trapped him in believing in his case but refrained from saying further, the lady pretty much looked shocked with his statement.

"He is helping his lone friend who is unwell off late, which reasons out his unavailability at home most of the times."

"Sorry to burst your bubble of faith on your uncle but he was staying at her house making us believe that he has no family"

"How are you related to Shakshy?" without giving her much time to process his words he was back to questioning.

"I..I don't know anything about it," she said avoiding his looks.

"You know and you have to tell us because that is the reason for our lives to be in trouble," Khushi pleaded.

"I can only thank you for the help, I can't say any further" Payal wanted to avoid as much discussion as possible.

"Oh, I'll thank you because I was able to reach La through your mobile only, I will always be thankful for it but please let me know about what you know about Shakshy."

"WHAT" did she hear it right? a call from her mobile? the same mobile which had the sim card given by Shyam because her mobile was taken away from her right in her home. Will Shyam be able to trace her back with this?

Sorry to hear about your loss. Hope you are better now. Losing a loved one is always hard. Hope his family finds strength to continue their lives without him.

Coming back to the story, Payal knows something about Sakshy but not disclosing it. What is she hiding? I admire Lavanya for helping Khushi, NK and Payal. Nice of her.

Waiting for Arnav to forgive Khushi and both solve the mystery together.
