A few things to keep in mind...

Vishal:

- SCRIPT!! SCRIPT!!! - If Story/Screenplay is flawed, no one can save this movie. #2015Flops

- Don't go overboard with sets and costumes. #SLB

- Less talk, more action. DO NOT RELEASE SHOOT PICS DAILY. #ADHM

Saif: ACT

Shahid: ACT

Kangana: No more honest comments that get twisted by media and stay away from DP and of course, ACT

Expecting a content driven, aesthetically pleasing, solid film that will woo the audience, critics and award juries in 2017. 👍🏼

Yep, I'm sure they all know what they are getting into ...

Saif after Phantom ... Kangana after Katti Batti ... Shahid after Shaandaar.

Just hoping Vishal doesn't become over confident like Vikas did.

Forget Vikas, dude just wanted to party, that's why he made a film with no story. 😆

I hope Vishal doesn't make the same mistakes as Anurag, Big budget, period film...hope he has a very strong script/screenplay. Otherwise this has the potential to become his Bombay Velvet.

I swear to god ... first when Shahid mentioned how his team loved to party ... I thought it will be good like Queen ... He seemed comfy with it ... But when they all kept on repeating it throughout the promotion, I figured something's off.

Hopefully, he needs Sajid for the right reasons. I'll trust Sajid over Kjo. 😆

I get nervous with these "most ambitious venture" claims... 😆

Vishal seems like a grounded person and less attention seeker. I know he has aspirations to be a big filmmaker himself but I hope in the process he doesn't give up his plus points.

His screenplay is usually very tight except for occasional mishaps like MKBKMD ...

He keeps saying that they have worked on the story for 8 years, I just hope it is solid... otherwise... 😡

What this movie needs is a bit low profile until the promotions, else there may be anti-BV like campaign for this film. We all know no one in BW likes to see other filmmakers succeed.. especially the arty ones. 😃

Rangoon to go on floors on November 15

The Saif Ali Khan - Shahid Kapoor - Kangana Ranaut starrer Rangoon is set to go on floors on November 18. Director Vishal Bhardwaj said in an interview with Hindustan Times, "Rangoon is a classic tale that will have the musical charm of Moulin Rouge, the romance of Casablanca and the intensity and drama of Saving Private Ryan. Like Saving Private Ryan, Rangoon too is set against the backdrop of World War II. I wanted to make this subject for eight years now."

He added, "However, I knew from the start that this is a film that would take the vision of a producer like Sajid. It needs to be mounted on a lavish scale and after meeting Sajid, I felt he was the right man to take this project forward. The film not only needs a huge budget, but also requires someone who believes in it and allows me to make it the way I have envisioned it. I have made eight movies until now. However, I must add here that the scale of all those films put together is on one aside and that of Rangoon, alone, is on the other. That's how ambitious Rangoon is."

Shahid and Saif have mentioned many a time that they are very excited about this one. The team will shoot for it in Mumbai, Arunachal Pradesh and in the US.

So its a combination a combination of three movies, two of which I liked a lot in parts, and third which I absolutely love and is in my All time favorites. The subject sounds interesting. A tragic and passionate love story is always welcome if executed well. The budjet and dream project chant scares me, but I have a lot of faith in Vishal when it comes to serious movies and complex characters. He has proved himself many times over, and the fact that KJo is not the one producing it brings a lot of relief. Though not my favs, both SAK and Shahid have already given very good performances under VBs direction, and I see no reason why they can't repeat it esp as both have a point to prove. Now the reason for my extra special interest in this project, Kangana Ranaut. I like her a lot as an actor and this is the most promising project of her as of now. The kind of scope this movie offers for its lead actress is something to look forward to. If she aces it, I am sure it would be one of the performances that she would be remembered for. If only they get the script right!
PS- Do we already have the music director for this movie, or are they still undecided about that?
