Yu Menglong Death: Song Yiren's lawyer warns netizens of slanderous posts amidst reported 'clamp down'

Almost ten days after the demise of Yu Menglong, reports are coming that actress Song Yiren’s lawyer has warned netizens who are slandering her name in the case. A number of photos circulated around where netizens claimed that even Song Yiren was part of that party that Yu Menglong attended with friends. There are names of other alleged agency owners, directors and actors there as well. Song Yiren is a Chinese – Canadian actress working in the industry for past few years. She has done some globally popular shows. As per social media, her lawyer has now threatened legal action.

While this can be contentious, some netizens have claimed that they are literally banned from posting about him. They said that it looks like people have lost interest in his matter but that is not the case. A day after the death of Yu Menglong, netizens claimed that highly-influential people could be behind what was a planned murder for hidden reason. Some of them are related to society’s top brass. They feel that they have enough resources to manipulate the media. Shanghai Police has issued a statement saying that those spreading rumours about Yu Menglong’s death with fabricated evidences will face legal charges. They said this is deplorable and is causing additional trauma to the victim and his kin.

The name of filmmaker Cheng Qingsong is also being shared by some handle. He is supposed to be a close friend of Fan Bingbing, the Chinese diva. The name of some other managers, actors, actresses too are being dragged in. Netizens are just demanding a free and fair investigation with cops being transparent on how they deduced it was an accidental fall. Yu Menglong’s case has brought memories of mysterious deaths of other two Chinese actors. People even staged a protest outside the Chinese consulate in Los Angeles.
