CHAPTER 26: FIRING THE INNOCENT

"NEVER TAKE YOUR DECISIONS IN A HURRY. TRY TO LISTEN TO PERSON INFRONT OF YOU AND THEN MAKE YOUR JUDGEMENT."

Kalpi went to meet Prem after the office hours. Prem was very confidant that Kalpi would agree to his proposal but to his surprise she straightaway said "No." Prem and Neetu were taken aback while Kalpi walked away from there. Feeling dejected the mother-son duo drove off from there. Kalpi took the copy of the project file and thus sat up whole night and prepared a new presentation. She was very much aware of the evil minds of Kapoors. Thus she opted to make a new and better presentation. Here the Kapoors were thinking of ways to get the housing project. Sahil asked whether Pakhi was back from work. Neetu told them that she was back and was busy in some presentation. Prem asked if the presentation was for the housing project. Thus it kicked the evil minds of all the three. Neetu sneaked inside Pakhi's room and took out the project file.

Next day was a very important day for Raghav. It was his first compition deal with the Kapoors. The meeting began with Kapoors delivering their presentation first. As he began his presentation Raghav, Pakhi and Maya were shocked completely. Sammy looked at Kalpi and thought "Toh isne detail Prem ko de di. Soch bhi nahi sakta tha ki Kalpana aisa karegi." While Kalpi was totally aware for Prem's intentions "Pata tha mujhe. Yeh Prem kabhi nahi sudhar sakta. Accha hua jo maine nayi presentation bana li." Prem ended the presentation and Maya called for a break. Pakhi tried to explain but raghav didn't give a ear to it. Kalpi tried to stop Raghav but Sammy accused her for leaking the office details to Prem "Kyun Kalpana, kyun sunega Raghav tumhari baat. Wow Kalpana kabhi nahi soch sakta tha kit um aisa karogi. Raghav, isme Pakhi ki koi galati nahi hai. Prem ko details Kalpana ne di thi. Maine suni thi vo phone conversation." Raghav was shocked. He looked at Kalpi and she tried to explain "Sir main kal Prem se mili thi par..." Raghav did not want to hear any more and thus said "Main tumhe abhi aur isi waqt naukri se nikalta hoon Ms. Jadav. You are fired. Ganimat samjho ki tumhari maa ki vajah se tum police karvaahi se bach gayi. Main tumhe sirf bhagodi samajhta tha. Lekin tum chalak bhi ho, namakharaam bhi ho aur mauka dast bhi ho. Yeh nahi janta tha." Saying so they all left the cabin leaving behind a teary Kalpi "Mujh par lagaye gaye ilzaam kitne sahi hai yeh aapko bohot jald pata lag jayega." While going out Maya thought "Kya Kalpi ne sach mein aisa kiya hai? Usey dekh ke toh aisa nahi lagta ki usne aisa kuch kiya hoga..." She went to the cafeteria. Here Raghav was busy thinking about his outburst on Kalpi. He could not actually make out what made him lose his cool "Maine Kalpi pe itne gussa kyun kiya? Kya sirf details Prem ko dene ki vajah se...? Lekin Kalpi aisa nahi kar sakti. Lekin vo Prem se milne hi kyun gayi?? Nahi jaati toh accha tha. Kuch samajh nahi aa raha kya ho raha hai mujhe. Kya karun ab presentation ka?" just then his phone rang and it was Pakhi. He did not bother to pick it up and thus disconnected it. Pakhi came to Raghav and looked at his direction. Prem and Sahil give them a thumbs down. Sammy comes to asks Raghav's decision. Raghav decides to stay back "Main apni haar se bhaagta nahi. Come lets go." All three go inside the conference room.

Kamla gets a call from Neetu informing her about Kalpi getting fired. Kamla asks Vitthal to come along as their daughter need help "Chal Vitthal. Humari Kalpi ko humari zaroorat hai." Both go to the meeting place. Here Raghav is sitting in the conference room and thinkin "Main Kapoors se nahi haar sakta. Jis din main unse haar gaya vo din meri zindagi ka aakhri din hoga." The meeting continues and one by one each company gives its presentation. None of them is upto the mark and Prem becomes happy thinking that they would get the project. Maya gets up and says "Now we are left with only Singhania Constructions." Sammy gets up to tell something to Maya but Raghav asks him to keep quite and sit "Kyun mujhe aisa lag raha hai ki Prem ko yeh project nahi milega." Just then Kalpi entered and asked permission to give the presentation on behalf of Singhania Constructions "Sorry Maya mam. Main Raghav Singhania Construction ke taraf se ek presentation dena chahati hoon." Raghav could sense the determination in her voice "Yeh abhi tak yahan hai? Itna sab sunne ke baad bhi vo yahin hai toh koi toh vajah hogi na." Sammy got up from his seat and held Kalpi by her arms to drag her out "Tum Singhania Constructions mein kaam nahi karti ho ab isiliye presentation dene ka koi haq nahi hai tumhe." He was just about to pull her by arms when Raghav's strong voice stopped him "Sammy!!" Raghav could never tolerate anyone manhandling Kalpi and thus he motioned her to start her presentation. She was happy and apologized for the delay. Raghav was taking in her confidence "Yeh mere liye presentation dene aayi hai. Nahi. Lade bina haar nahi manunga. Dekhte hain Kalpi kya present karti. Kuch na hone se toh yeh hi sahi hai." Only if he knew that from now on he will be relying on Kalpi for each and every presentation.

Here Kamla and Vitthal reach the meeting place and come near the conference room. They watch Kalpi giving the presentation and feel relieved. Kalpi starts her presentation and keeps the name of the project as "Mamta." Kalpi starts her presentation and everyone looks at her in awe. There defferent expression on different faces. Sammy had the look of happiness that he was proved wrong and their reputation was saved. Pakhi was happy that Kalpi managed to make a new presentation and even proved herself innocent. Prem and Sahil had the look of losers who by now very well knew that they would not get the presentation and not even in future because of Kalpi. Maya was happy that Kalpi was innocent and the presentation would now go to the Singhania Construction.But one person sat there with mixed emotions. Raghav was happy that they would get the presentation while Kapoors will lose it but he was very much guilty for his outburst sometime ago "Maine yeh kya kar diya. Ek baar uski baat toh sunni chahiye thi na mujhe. Maine usey kuch bolne ka mauka tak nahi diya aur kitna kuch kehe diya ussey. Maine toh usey naukri se bhi nikal diya ab main kya karun. Main khud toh jaake baat karne se raha..kaisey manau usey." He sat there thinking about Kalpi while she was busy delivering the presentation.

The presentation came to an end and everybody gave a big round of applause to Kalpi. The board decided whom to give the presentation. Maya stood up and announced the winner "Thank you guys. Aap sab ne accha kiya but end mein winner toh ek hi hai. So board ne yeh project Singhania Constructions ko dene ka faisla kkia hai. Unki presentation sabse acchi thi." Kapoors left the place in defeat. Everyone got up and congratulated Raghavwhile his eyes were fixed on the one person who saved his preoject. Sammy came and congratulated him and said "Yaar Kalpana ne toh kamal kar diya. Aisi presentation na toh maine kabhi dekhi hai aur na suni hai. Aur agar Kalpana ne yeh presentation banayi hai toh Prem ko usne koi bhi details nahi di. Mujhse bohot badi galati ho gayi yaar main jaakar ussey sorry keheta hoon. Uspe ilzaam laga ke maine bilkul bhi thik nahi kiya." Raghav looked at him and said "Sammy, Ms. Jadav se jaake kehe de ki unki naukri abhi bhi barka raar hai." Sammy shook his head thinking about his friend's big ego which is not allowing him to apologise even. He aggred to him "Thik hai mai jaake Kalapa se kehe deta hoon ki uski naukri kahin nahi jaa rahi hai." Raghav left the room glancing towards Kalpi. Pakhi wnet upto Kalpi and gave her a tight hug "Wow Kalpi kya presentation di hai tune. Tune bacha liya yaar." Kalpi smiled saying it was her duty to get the presentation. Pakhi smiled and said "Haan Kalpi. Aaj ek hi pal mein kitna kuch badal gaya. Hum bade ho gaye. Ab mujhe bhi apna farz poora karna hoga. Mere bhai ne jo kia uska jawab unhe dena hoga." She left the place and went home. Sammy came to Kalpi and said "I am sorry Kalpana. Mujhe tumpe ilzaam lagane se pehele tumse baat karni chahiye thi. Apna doubt clear karna chahiye tha." Kalpi cut him short and said "Its ok sir. I understand." Sammy smiled and told her "Kal subah 9:00 sharp. Der mat karna. Tumhari naukri abhi bhi tumhari hai. Fark sirf itna hai ki pichli baar tumhe yeh naukri apni aai ki vajah se mili thi aur iss baar tumne apni naukri khud kamayi hai." He left the place leaving behind a smiling Kalpi who was busy cursing Raghav in her mind "Chalo jo hota hai acche ke liye hi hota hai. Lekin iss khadus ke kitne bhav hai. Jab naukri se muhe khud nikala toh vapas bhi toh khud hi rakhna tha na. Akdu, khadoos, egoistic insaan. Jee toh karta hai ki inki personality pe ek presentation bana ke poori duniya ko dikha doon. Gussa toh jaise naak pe chada reheat hai. Nahi nahi balki gussa toh Kalpana Jadav ko dekh kar naak pe char jata hai. Vaise main kyun itna soch rahi hoon iss aadmi ke baarey mein. Chod Kalpi iss aadmi ka kuch nahi ho sakta." She took her bag and left the place. Only if they knew what effect these two had on each other. On one hand Raghav was confused with his new found feelings and emotions while on the other hand Kalpi was only thinking about Raghav and going mad over him for having a big ego. Who knows when these unknown feelings and egoistic madness turns into something much stronger than only love and attraction.
