^^^^ Showing Duryodhan defeating any of the Pandavas is already hurting the story. Duryodhan was superior to none of them. Later, after the Pandava exile, he was superior in gada yudh, but that was only if both the weapons were maces. Mediocre warriors like Drishtadyumna or Drupada rarely had any issues battling Duryodhan.

Oh- there was one occasion where Karna may got the better of Arjuna- in fact Karna would have probably killed Arjuna. That was when he aimed the Nagastra at Arjuna. Krishna who identified the astra as soon as it left Karna's bow yanked the horses and forced them to bend at their knees. As a result the astra only hit Arjuna's crown / helmet

wow i loved last nights episode..karna's characterization was perfect...plus the reason that was given by karna on why he entered the competition field was also apt...he said that because until now it was a competition between the kuru and pandav princes but when drona over hyped arjun and said that there is no other archer better than his student arjun, karna had a problem with that and wanted to prove it wrong. Aham really did a good job as karna...until now while watching the promos I had a doubt abt whether aham will pull it of well as karna or no...but now I can say that aham did superb as karna 😳

@ mnx12 thank you for opening this thread.
Karna was a great warrior and known for his charity nature, he never said no to anyone.
Hence known as Dana veera sura Karna.

Different Names of Karna:
1)Vasusena - This was his first name, it was because he was born with wealth (i.e earings and natural armour )
2)Radheya - because he is the adopted son of radha ,who nurtured him as her own son
3)Karna - The cutter or peeler of his own cover( Natural armour )
4)Vaikartana - because he had cut his natural armour and earings and gave it to indra
5)Vrisha - because he is ever truthful is speech, enagaged in penances, observant of vows , kind even to foes.

Karna's Family:

Karna was actually son of kunti and suryanarayana, but then as Kunti was not married and afraid of society she put him in a basket and left it in the river. Karna was born with earing and natural armour. Later he was found by Bheshma's charioteer Adiratha and Radha who nurtured him. Later became friend of Duryodhan who supported him when he was not allowed to participate in the competition as he was sut pur, and made him Angaraj, Karna was loyal to his friendship towards Duryodhan through his life.Karna was married to Vrushali and Supriya. He had nine sons; Vrishasena, Vrishaketu, Chitrasena, Satyasena, Sushena, Shatrunjaya, Dvipata, Banasena and Prasena and all of these took part in the Kurukshetra war. Prasena was slain by Satyaki, Shatrunjaya, Vrishasena and Dvipata by Arjuna, Banasena by Bhima, Chitrasena, Satyasena and Sushena by Nakula. Vrishakethu was his only son who survived the war. Karna's eldest wife Vrushali went sati after Karna's death.

Things to be learnt from karna:

A Human Being always have both good as well as bad in him, I strongly believe in learning for every human being who comes in my way, however he may be, see both good and bad qualities in him and learn that it good and this is bad. So I think we all will definitely find many things in Karna to learn.

Karna as a rebel: Karna was rebel at that time, he never wanted to compromise, but fought many problems to get what he want, which he felt was his right.

Karna's struggle shows us that if one fought all the problems which comes in his way without losing hope and with confidence and inner strength he will definitely get what he wants. Inner strength and confidence on your skill is important.

Karna's lie: Karna travelled almost every place to get a guru to learn but none accepted him to be their student, then Karna's lied to parushuram to get guru.

Karna's lie teaches us lie has to come someday and the day it comes out it will create a even bigger problem that you will face if told truth.Sometimes it may even cost your life.Anything started with a lie will never end good.

Karna was a great warrior: in many ways greater than Arjuna. They may have been equal as archers, but physically, Karna was by far the stronger of the two. And even in sticking to one's principles, Karna appeared more steadfast compared with Arjuna. But in Karna's life there was one fatal flaw. He made his friendship and loyalty to Duryodhan higher than anything else, even higher than right and wrong, and even higher than God. While loyalty is a great value in such cases when it overrides a sense of dharma and even the direct calling of the Divine in the form of Shri Krishna, such loyalty leads one to a tragic end.

Karna used all his strength to serve his friend Duryodhan, without even one selfish thought for himself. However, his loyalty was so blind that he would even follow his friend when he was doing something totally wrong, selfish and harmful to others. This shows that loyalty to another person can lead even a great man to a tragic end. Dharma, and the call of God, must always be greater than loyalty to another. Karna knew what he was doing was wrong and paid the price for it.

Karna put loyalty to Duryodhan as his highest loyalty. His tragic story warns us to choose loyalties wisely.

Note: will be added as and when I find something. If you find something with is to be learned for Karna put post it here and let me know I will update it here.

Episodes dedicated to Karn:

1. 18th Nov 2013 Episode 46:
Karna's Guru tells him to request Dronacharya to teach him the art of archery. Karna tells Dronacharya that he wants to learn the art of archery from him. On learning that Karna is a charioteer's child, Dronacharya refuses to teach him the art of archery. Karna asks him what is relationship between caste and eduction education does not belong to anyone it's everyone, but still dronacharya refused , Then Karna challenges him that he will become the greatest archer. Karna lies to Parashurama that he is a Brahmin, to learn the art of archery. He starts learning the art of archery from Parashurama.
Loved the episode for the argument made that education does not belong to anyone it is everyone's.

2. 25th Nov 2013 Episode 51:
Karna enter the competition saying that you announced Arjun as world's best Archer and I'm also part of this world and don't agree with you and calls Arjun to compete with him. After when people gets to know he is sut-pur and says she can't compete with a King, Karns asks what is the link between my ability and my caste, and say that human should be recognised by his ability not caste. Karna's father asks him not to fight and move out of this competition field that is when bheem comments to listen to his father and move out as he knows that sut will not have that ability, complete crowd repeats the same. with lot of disappointment Karna was about to leave the field, Duryodhan announces him to be King.
Loved the episode for the argument made that one should be recongised not by there caste but by ability, and one should never feel insulted about their parents.
