Chapter 3

Taking a deep breath,twinkle rang the door bell. She needed to stay calm. She couldn't practically have a panic attack seconds before she was going to meet her mother in law and her 'babe'.

As she heard the door open,she pushed her thoughts aside and plastered a smile on her face.twinkle looked up to find Ram kaka. He looked so old now,he was the oldest servant of the house.

As soon as he saw twinkle,his face broke out into a wide grin,after all his choti malkin was back.

Soon twinkle was guided inside the house. The house was still the same,the same interior design and everything. No one could make out if it had really been 5 years since that dreadful incident. The only difference was that once the house which was loud on volume was now silent enough that even a pin drop could be heard.

Kaka - "Toh aap wapas aahigayi"

Twinkle - "Kaise hai aap ram kaka"

Kaka - "Main bilkul theekh Hun choti malkin,aap kaisi hai?"

Twinkle - "Mein bhi theekh Hun.waise koi dikahi nahi De raha hai,sab Bahar Gaye hai Kya?"

Kaka - "Nahi choti malkin,sab ghar pe hi hain.bohot saalon se is ghar mein kissine ek doosre se baat nahi ki hai. Ek arsa ho Gaya hai jabse sab ne saath mein khana khaya hoga. Aisa lag raha hai jaise 5 saal pehle chote Saab aur aapke saath baki logo ne bhi yeh ghar chodh diya tha."

Only ram kaka knew how much the family had suffered.they had stopped interacting with each other.The big happy family had been broken.

Kaka - "Mein aapke liye paani laata Hun" and with that he went towards the kitchen.

It took twinkle quite sometime to digest what kaka had told her. She realised that though she had lost her husband,they had lost a son too and the grief wasn't shallow either.

Hearing the voice of kaka greeting someone,Bebe came out of her room to inquire who it was. No one really important had come to the Sarna house in these 5 years or atleast someone who was important to them.

Bebe's heart skipped a beat as soon as she saw her 'nu' standing right Infront of her looking here and there around the house.

"Twinkle" whispered Bebe.she couldn't believe her eyes. She had thought that she won't ever be able to see or meet twinkle again.

While looking around,Twinkle's eyes fell on Bebe. Without wasting anymore time,she ran towards her and embraced her in a hug. How much she had craved to be in her Bebe arms. After all it was Bebe who had supported her throughout her journey in this house.

Bebe and twinkle didn't let go of each other. They couldn't. The fear of losing each other again occupied their minds and they embraced each other tighter. The emptiness of their cries were loud enough to be heard by the whole of Amritsar. So much had changed.

Hearing their cries,Usha stepped out of her room. She stopped in her tracks when she saw her DIL standing in the middle of the hall hugging Bebe,both crying their hearts out.

"Twinkle" screamed Usha which made Bebe and twinkle loosen their grip on each other.

Smiling through her tears,twinkle stepped forward and touched Usha's feet.

Not being able to control herself further,Usha hugged twinkle with all her might. Twinkle was actually the DIL,the heart of the house. The house was nothing without twinkle and Usha had realised this when twinkle had left.

Wiping away her tears,Bebe smiled and walked towards the mother - daughter duo.

Bebe - "Arre bhai,mujhe bhi shamil karlo. Mere bhi bada maan Kar raha hai ki Mein aapni nu ko pyar Karu"

As soon as Bebe said This,Usha and twinkle stepped aside so that Bebe could come in.
All the 3 shared a hug which lasted for a few minutes but felt like eternity.

Twinkle while crying - "I'm really sorry,mujhe aise achanak se iss ghar ko chodkar nahi jaana chahiye tha".

Bebe - "Arre putar tu kyu maafi mang Rahi hai,hum tujhse naraz nahi hai"

Twinkle - "Lekin Bebe..."

Usha - "Lekin wekin kuch nahi twinkle,Bebe bilkul saahi Bol Rahi hai,pls sorry mat bolo"

Twinkle knew she couldn't win from her mother and Bebe so she decided to stay mum.

The 3 women chatted for sometime sipping on their tea and discussing how their life had been in these 5 years.

Twinkle couldn't help but notice how much Bebe and Usha had changed. The once over enthusiastic Bebe was calmer than usual now,she had very light make up on her which was unusual since everyone knew how much Bebe loved putting makeup and both the ladies wore light coloured clothes. That's when she realised that they still couldn't come in terms with Kunj's death.

It wasn't soon when twinkle realised that she sat way past then she had decided too. She was supposed to meet that stranger at 12 and it was 11:30 already.

Twinkle - "Mummyji,bebe ab mujhe chalna chahiye"

Bebe - "Arre putar abhi abhi hi toh you Aayi hai"

Usha - "Haan putar,Khana toh khatijaa"

Twinkle - "Actually mujhe Bohot Zyada late ho raha,mujhe jaana hoga"

As soon as she said this,she saw how both Bebe and Usha's faces fell. She didn't wanna leave either but she didn't have a choice.

Twinkle - "Mummyji,Bebe kyun na Mein aaj ka dinner aap logo ke saath karun?"

And it worked. Usha and Bebe's faces suddenly lit up"

Noticing this,twinkle continued,"In fact Mein soch Rahi thi ke Mein thoda jaldi aake aap logon ke liye Khana bana Leti Hun"

Bebe - "Na na putar tu kyu"

Twinkle - "Oho Bebe,Mein iss ghar ki bahu Hun na,toh please aaj ka Khana Mein banungi,aap log jaante hai na Mein kitni ziddi Hun"

Bebe and Usha knew there was no point of arguing with twinkle any further. She was very stubborn.

The 3 ladies promised each other to meet in the evening and with that twinkle left for the coffee shop.
What she didn't know was the unbrewing Storm that was awaiting her.
