But no...every time a legit and important issue is raised, it eventually gets brushed under the carpet.

I remember last year I had opened up a topic in this section, blasting VJ and his team because this website (and it's stupid ads) had ruined my laptop to the point that I lost everything from it. All my pictures, 4 years of work from high school, music (for which I pay, from i tunes)...you name it. So what happened then? VJ commented, found faults in my laptop's anti-virus system, and locked my topic. Luckily, I did retreive all my stuff from my old laptop, but for a very expensive price.

A member thinks the 9/11 tragedy is a joke and wishes that some members had died on that day. But what happens? I open up a topic on it to let others know about it and asking for some fair action to be taken, the member shamelessly defends (or should I say...justifies) herself, a moderator intervenes, closes the topic, and ends up giving me a 40% WL increase, along with the member who was unfairly targetted. Has the idiotic member who made the derogatory comment been banned yet? Nope! She, by the way, is still on this website instead of being banned and is ROLF'ing her way to insanity.

Back in 2008 or 2009, a moderator leaked a member's personal information her on I-F so everyone could see. Now, I don't know about anyone else...but someone who stoops that low definitely does not come off as being a normal person in my eyes. Yes, the issue was taken care of...but after SO long. Almost all of I-F had to be involved in it, a big showdown between two parties, and then the moderator faced consequences. That moderator is a regular member on I-F now (under a different username), so everyone please be careful! You sure as hell don't want to piss her off.

VJ...how about for once you stop trying to make I-F more and more like FB and Shaadi.com? Let's focus on things that...I don't know...matter?! Who cares what position Geet or IPKKND or any other random telly show is on? What is this chaskameter crap that shakes all of I-F? Certainly, if you have time for all that, then I'm sure you and your team can make an effort to do something about this.

Yupp Vijay, I was called a terrorist and 9/11 was mocked of, and consequently my warning level was increased only because I brought the matter to light. If you ever check your scraps (the ones that read other than "you are great") or if you even check back on your pms, then you'd know how I had pm'ed you regarding the matter yet nothing was done. 😛

The moderator which leaked personal information happened almost 2 yrs back and today the DT system still remains the same with loopholes. Twelve and thirteen year olds become moderators and they are provided access to our IP addresses and sensitive data.

But nooo...chaska meter, like button, dislike button will take IF to glory of course!!!

Thanks koolchick on this much needed topic. When I 1st heard On MID business I was like whats the big deal, but when I saw people getting PMS, and then personally getting them, I was like this is horribe, but what shook me up when the MID came out in person and openly attacked is when I thought enough is enough. Though it was embarassing when it happened in Public at least there ws a chance on it being traced or banned. But in PM there isn't.
So I agree that we need newbies to post, because when they PM vile things we can't trace them. I have ignored them , but that is not a solution, and is in a way harassment to members.

Thanks Koolio for this topic and Sheldon for the awesome suggestion!

I definitely agree that something needs to be done about this MID problem because those PM's are just beyond disgusting. I don't understand why a member who's never posted before and, obviously has no intention of posting again, needs to have the PM service be available to them?

I could care less whether Geet is the #1 show or whether TRP's are included in the chaska meter or if Karan Singh Grover is #1 on the star ratings. But I DO care if MID's harass me and my family and friends for no reason whatsoever.

Good you made the thread Koolchick and Great suggestion Sheldon...
Its high time now... Something needs to be done abt these abusive PM's... Why are newbies with 0 posts allowed to even send PM's... They are just abusing this loophole in India Forums... They know that with 0 posts they cannot be tracked and that has led to total misuse of the PM service...
Some system has to be set so that newbies can send PM's after only a specific number of posts are made... Now the sole purpose of them making the ID's is to abuse members and it is pretty obvious that they are MID's... They are regular members who have issues with people criticizing their favorites or they could be someone who is banned from here or they could be someone who left the forum on their own after some fight... It could be any one... Their sole purpose is to abuse using disgusting language...
Hopefully this time Vijay will take action and change some things here...

If all it takes is for the Newbies to have at least a few posts, before they send PMs, it should be easy to implement!

I hope the admins of this site do take prompt action on this. The PMs do constitute cyber bullying, and if it can be prevented, it should be done asap.

As for the disgusting PMs ( it is shocking to read a few that has been posted here), it is so easy sitting behind an anonymity that internet provides, to write vile things, which I am sure they wouldn't even dream of saying out loud! I wish people learn to fight their (virtual) battles in open and not use someone else ( or their MID) as a means to say abusive things.

It is so easy to burn and hate ( as evident in the world around) than to say " I am sorry, but I disagree with you. You have your opinion and I have mine!". The art of debate has sadly been denigrated to abuses and bullying!

I think that rule will only make the situation worse, because most probably members would make a new ID and then to send PM's they would spam the forum to get those 10 posts, which means more unnecessary work for the DEV team -__-
