Hola peeps...
I hope you all are doing well. Even am fine *I know you all must be curious of my well being too (wink)*
I'll analyze whatever I have watched this week. I ges I have missed an episode in between.
What am happy about is the pairing of two distinct individuals and their contrast.
It begins with Ram Ravan and ends with Vibhishan Kumbhakarn.
One word: Terrific.
Ram Ravan face off just took away everything. Splendid. I liked the placement. Ravan on chariot and Ram on ground. So symbolic!!!!
Ravan is one airhead. Thinks something, does something, short term planning but hopes to hit it big. One big nut I swear. His strategies are good. I remember mentioning this before also. Ravan is a clever and a mean strategist. His plans do work but the biggest hindrance is "ME". Seamlessly, his strategy of punishing his sister's culprits zeroes on to his personal revenge of his insult in the swayamvar. Sita's stature, composure and the victorious realm threatens him. Her dedication towards Ram scares him deep inside. He shows off just like an air head. He believes himself to be the winner of every world. But he forgets one thing, fear tempts you to put up a mask always. Its an err of a weak human to hide his/her vulnerabilities. That is what Ravan is doing. Even the thought that Ram's messenger is coming Ravan gears up his defence everywhere. Wow!!! That was enough to give away his " fear".
Ram at other end is just like Sita. He demarcates clearly what is wrong what is right. For him the only aim is to destroy the evil and let the righteous win. That might be Bali's death or now Lanka mission. He has nothing to fear coz he knows he is right.
The beauty comes at the placement. Ravan on top. Ram at bottom.
What is success? There are 2 definitions. One is climbing the ladder where other people are the steps and you reach the top "Alone". Other is to move forward and take people with you. Make a chain and share success.
The chariot was nothing else than the ladder. Ravan has killed innocent ppl, destroyed many lives, used many people and reached at the top. And there he stands with hands on his waist. A clear indication of ego and half knowledge.
Even Ram has travelled in chariot but the difference lies in the posture. Ram would lean a bit. His hand resting on the vehicle. His eyes lowered with love and humility.
Ravan on the other hand has an evil spark.
Ram's kind words and serenity again threaten Ravan. He finally understands that he can never win Sita. Why not become Ram. Yahi baki tha. I whistled at the thought.
Even the deceased demons knew Ram was extraordinary and it will take all the powers of Ravan to become Ram. But uss bail buddhi ko kaun samjhaye? Ravan has no brain only ego. So he accepts everything and becomes Ram. A special mention Ashish was flawless with the eyes. Superbly portrayed.
I missed the episode later. But one thing I was sure of that Sita would recognize the true face and as I expected eyes would do magic, I suppose they did. Its an eternal truth, eyes can never deceive coz they hide but also show the deepest of the deep secrets of your personality. So the next tym you meet a stranger, try to read their eyes.
I admit Kumbhakarn was the surprise package for me. And the pairing with Vibhishan made it note delightful.
He agrees to enter the war for the sake of "bhratradharm". I guess this is the reason I like vibhishan more than him and Lakshman more than Meghnad.
I loved his lectures to Ravan and Kaikasi. Especially kaikasi. It was long due.
Kumbhakarn is for the sake of his brother and Vibhishan for righteousness. Kumbhakarn's lecture to Vibhishan was annoying.
It takes special guts to support the right and go against your blood. Lanka may call him traitor but my heart bleeds for Vibhishan. The man who chose greater good above his selfish needs and love. He rejected his family to let truth triumph.
Once again the way it was. Kumbhakarn soaring high in the sky and Vibhishan on the ground. Even though the giant fellow was a dharmatma he didn't have the guts to proclaim the right and wrong.
A point comes when nothing can stop the inevitable. Lakshman makes a failed attempt to kill the giant. Hanuman comes as a savior every time. I loved the use of trishul and shivansh using his strength to destroy it. Superb. Vibhishan is impressed.
Kumbhakarn sees the real Ram. He is reminded of the curse. Makes every excuse to be killed st the hands of Ram.
He loses his hands. I loved his dialogue that how today he wanted to bow in reverence but he has no hands. It was poignant and meaningful. His emotions did reach Ram. Many things transpired between the Almighty and his devotee. Joining hands is just the way of showing it to the world but the true devotion lies in your heart. You bow down or not is not important. A point that I always argue upon with everyone. I never visit temples but when I do am asked to bow down, join hands, do saashtang. I do none. I simply state at the idol before me. If am angry my heart complains, if am sad my heart complains, if am happy my heart thanks. This doesn't mean am an atheist. The dialogue was truly special. Your faith can never be measured in terms of how many times do you join your hands and bow down. Your faith is immeasurable and boundless. Its important that the energies travel between the two entities than being a talking stock for the others.
I loved mandodari and her Father's scene. Mandodari still feels Ravan can be stopped. But her father has brain. Only destruction can stop him. After all if destruction doesn't happen, evolution will never take place.
