@Janvhi di Was waiting for your analysis, di! Yes, Kaikesi is trying to avert destruction, not because of realization, but because of selfishness. But even if she had realized her mistake, the destruction could not be stopped. And, can you explain me what the Kumbhdaan is.

@Sruthi di Shanta again! Waiting to see how Shanta comes in the picture.

Ravan coming for the Shraddh of Dasharath is kinda similar to the story I had posted here long back. It was about Ravan being the priest for the Shiva puja Ram did, and he brought Sita there, but only for the puja. And, he gave Ram the blessing of being victorious. So cool, na!

Vibhishan, in one last attempt, tries to convince his brother to support Dharma. And Kumbhkaran lets him stand on his palm to talk with him. The place where Vibhishan stands, the center of the palm, is the point for the solar plexus in accupressure. The solar plexus is our primitive mind, and it controls our identity and ego. When Vibhishan stepped and put pressure on it, Kumbhakaran's solar plexus started working. Along with Vibhishan's words, it told him that his first identity is of a human being and God's child, and that his main duty is to abide our Father's law, Dharma. Kumbhkaran broke, but for just a minute. Because the solar plexus also controls our willpower, so while Kumbhakaran's detrmination doubled, he only had some realization of his identity. So, with his will overpowering his truth, he refuses Vibhishan's proposal, and supports his brother Ravan.

Today, Vibhishan faces both Sugreev and Angad in the battlefield. This phase of the Kumbhakaran vs. Vanar Sena war can be compared to the material phase of the human life. And in our material life, everything falls under two categories- happiness and sorrow or Sugriv and Angad respectively. Everyone perceives these two differently. For some people it might be sitting under the warm sun, for other it might be dancing in the rain. Some people don't like the scorching sun and others don't like the dreariness of the rain. But, no matter what people think they are, they are chips from the same block- Maya. If one comes, the other follows right after. Just like that, some people think Sugriv and Angad are cowards, others think they are brave. But no matter what, in any circumstances, they have always supported each other. In the battlefield, if one enters, the other follows. But, sorrow is never welcomed as grandly as happiness. Like that, Kumbhkaran just kicks Sugriv, but he was about to step on Angad. Before he can do that, though, something stops him...

The theme of this episode is ignoring. Kumbhakaran ignored everyone, including his younger brother, when they told him to return from the battlefield, for they didn't want to hurt a pious man. And the Vanars ignored Kumbhakaran's insults and taunts, and answered all of them with their bravery. The truth that came forth in this episode is that we always ignore those things that we do not want to follow. Kumbhkaran did not want to return from the battlefield because he wanted to make his brother proud, even if he resorted to Adharma. And the monkeys ignored Kumbhakaran's taunts because they wanted to win this war, for Ram and Sita. Ignoring bad things is the key, you should always see the good in every situation and in everyone. This leads to your rise, and you become divine. But, if you ignore the good things, then you lead yourself to your fall.

After Sugriv and Angad, today, Hanuman, Lakshman, and Ram face Kumbhakaran in the last war of his life. This second half of the Vanar Sena vs. Kumbhakaran can be compared to our spiritual life. First, Hanuman faces Kumbhakaran, and after seeing Hanuman's strength and power, he understands that he was in an illusion that vanars were cowards, and that there is something special about them and their leader. This can be likened to the first call, an experience, a person and his words, or a sign, that is accepted by your conscience (Hanuman). Then Kumbhakaran faces Lakshman, who shoots three arrows at Kumbhkaran- the arrows of Maya, suffering, and vices that people face while doing penance or meditation. But, Kumbhakaran faces them all bravely, and none of them are able to harm him. Then, Kumbhakaran throws a Trishul to destroy all three obstacles, but Hanuman or his conscience stops him, for these three are necessary to test people and their bhakti. When his meditation ends, his Kundalini awakens, like a snake, and traavels along the nadis to meet at your head. At this crucial moment, you get a glimpse of the Lord, and he stikes you with three more arrows- the arrows of Bhakti, repetence, and enlightenment. Kumbhakaran becomes one with God, leaving with tears of love and happiness and a faint smile on his face.

Kumbhakaran's realization was not only unique, his death was also very different. Ram first cuts off Kumbhakaran's left and right hand, and then paralyzes his leg, and Kumbhakaran dies. The right and left arm are commonly viewed as symbolizing good and sinister. So, we can say that Ram first killed the bad in Kumbhakaran, his vices and his thinking that kul means everything. Then, Ramji takes Kumbhakaran's good actions and deeds, and keeps them in account for his next birth, where he will be rewarded for them. After removing all actions, what is left? Kumbhkaran's soul, which doesn't see right or wrong, it only sees God. And finally, Shri Ram eliminates the bandhan that keeps Kumbhakaran bonded to the material world- Dharma. And with that, Kumbhakaran is free, and his soul rises, while his body falls.

The theme of this episode is hidden truths. When Kumbhakaran sees Ram, he remembers the hidden truth about his birth and Ram and Sita's, and submits to destiny's ways. He pretends to want to kill Ram so that he can get mukti by his hands, and his plan works. And at the end, Ram gets to know that Kumbhakaran was pretending, and that he is actually devoted to Him. What I learned from this episode is that hiding the truth leads to as much destruction as saying a lie. If Kumbhkaran had told the truth, Ram would have still killed him because it was needed, people get what they do. But, destiny has its own ways- it can make even a person who has never told a lie in his whole life to say a lie and commit an Adharmic deed for the sake of Dharma.

Yesterday while watching the episode, your words about KKesi and Shanta were flashing in my mind 😳... I was like today's Shruthi di's fav episode 😆😳

Both Ram and Ravan were born when a woman lured a Rishi, as KKesi told na yesterday

Since KKesi 's motive was wrong, Ravan was born who caused great destruction...
Since Shanta's motive was good, Ram was born to free the world from that destruction

Am I right ??

What a path crossing episode. Once again my heart murmured Shanta. It was as if today each word of what Kaikasi spoke to Ravan was Shanta speaking. And somewhere what Ravan said to Kaikasi, I expect Ram to tell Shanta, though not like this, but in a different way. In his own serene, quiet way that he is the king of Ayodhya and sending Sita to forest is his decision and no one can change it.

So why path crossing. Today there was 2 path crossing. One between Mandodari and Kaikasi and this path crossing leads to the second path crossing of Shanta and Kaikasi.

What is the path crossing of Mandodari and Kaikasi. Both have lost their sons. When Mandodari loses her son, Kaikasi is unaffected. Mandodari asks her multiple times to speak to Ravan and stop the war. But it doesn't happen. She is in her own Mahatwakamsha doesn't listen to what Mandodari tells. Now she loses her son Kumbhakaran. It is at that point she realizes what he has is Ravan only and for Mandodari Meghnadh. It is the first time she sees the effect of her actions giving results that she does not want. It is then she realizes in her need to establish the supremacy of Asura Kul she is losing the kul itself and to protect it she has to make decision. She takes the decision as Rajmatha. But Ravan overrules telling he is the king. Today Kaikasi's dialogues were beautiful. It was straight away telling her motive of marrying Vishravas. She wanted to expand Asura kul, she wanted to defeat the Devas. So a princess from Asura kul pretended to give away all her riches and married a Brahmin. Once her purpose of marrying him was completed by getting 4 kids, she left him and came back to her kul. Then she spent time in expanding the kul by making her son king of all the 3 worlds. She taught him to conquer the external world using fear, but he was never taught of conquering the inner world using love. Now the fear with each Ravan ruled the 3 world, the same fear has come back to Lanka. She wanted to stop it, but she couldn't stop it.

Cut to Shanta, she did the pretense of leaving all her princess luxury with a motive. To give sons to her kingdom. Only difference she didn't come back to her kingdom. She never came back we have to see. If Kaikasi came back and settled in her maayka, Shanta never came back to her maayka. Both are extreme cases. Shanta kept on keeping the pretense that she is happily married to Rishisringa. She is happy in that parnakudi. But the reality is Shanta is living a very lonely life as a Rishi's wife. But unlike Kaikasi who had the freedom to express, the hypocrite society of Ayodhya ties Shanta to the pretense of happiness, just like it had tied Kausalya to the pretense of happiness and also Kaikeyi and Sumitra also to the pretense of happiness.

What Ram is going to do is he is going to take away the pretense of happiness. When he banishes Sita, he is going to publicly show the pain the tradition of Ayodhya has inflicted on him. Vishnu who loves to mock at people who pretend by bringing their pretense to the forefront, is going to create the most beautiful Moh Maya in Sita Banishment. Where people doesn't know what to tell their king, who has left the queen who is pregnant to the forest, but at the same time refuses to marry second time, instead wherever wife is needed keeps her golden statue. Every time the golden statue is kept the heart of Ayodhya will bleed the pain they are inflicting on their king. Kausalya, Kaikeyi and Sumitra will bleed on the pain they have inflcited on their daughter as well as the daughters of Ayodhya. Laxman and Bharath will bleed when they see their Bhabi taking the pain they have inflicted on their wives during Ram's vanvass. Shanta will bleed seeing the effect of her action depriving her brother a proper family life. In short Ravan destroys Lanka physically which is actually a much easier destruction as it is death Ravan inflicts on people. But Ram kills Ayodhya emotionally day in day out depriving them mental peace living a lonely life. Ravan dies physically at the end. Ram kills himself emotionally first before he starts killing Ayodhya. What a beautiful Vishnu Maya.

@aditi you are partially right. But see you cannot fault Kaikasi's motive. Devas killed her father. So to defeat them she decided to marry a rishi and beget a son. Put yourself as a daughter in Kaikasi's place. Revenge, or justice as I perceive it that is what Kaikasi did and she is not ashamed of it.She proclaims it. What was Shanta's motive. To give sons to the kingdom. Both woman had motives, no love which is needed for a marriage. And luring a man into the trap with a motive whatever be it, it is bad. Only difference is Vishnu's sevak ended the Mahatawkamsha of Kaikasi and Vishnu himself ended the pretense of Ayodhya.
Ram and Ravan were enemies. But together they came on this earth to show something, to teach something. Ravan died a physical death, Ram died an emotional death. Their paths always crossed. Ravan died in the end, destroying his kingdom and praja, Ram died first to reform his praja.
Ram and Ravan are the 2 sides of the same coin. Ram is freewill, Ravan is selfish. Both suffered in their own way.
The pretense society like to take the name of Ram, but would want to do the deeds of Ravan in the name of Ram. Because Ram didn't had Purusharth, Ravan had that. It is difficult for hypocrite society to understand the purusharth Ram held. They prefer Ravan's Purusharth.
