I dunno whether Rama spared him or not, but Akampana was the first one to flee to Lanka and report to Ravan on the massacre of Khar, Dushan & all the other Rakshashas. That is what made Ravan somewhat wary of confronting him directly. Also, afaik, Akampana was no relative of Ravan: here, they describe him as Sumali's son.

Ravan would probably have let it go, except that Shurpi came after that and aroused Ravan's anger. Probably b'cos of Akampana's advice on how destructive Rama was, Ravan decided to take the Mareech route to abduct Sita in Rama's absence.

I thought that Dandaka was named after Danda - one of the descendants of Ikshvaku who was cursed

The cooking - I just didn't get how what Rama painstakingly cooked ended up as some brown water w/ a taste so weird that Sita couldn't suppress her initial disgust at its taste, b4 being amused at their cooking 😆

the game is on, sita haran and sugriv's retreat is eminent now. ab kuch interesting hone wala hain, btw, ravan ke vinaash ki prakriya ke aarambh hone kaa bhi samay shighra aane wala hain.

Shri Ram's pooja of Shiv ling was good. It contrasted well with how Raavan did a similar pooja a few days back. I liked the entire rehash of Shri Ram's story until now. With the new Kaand starting, this helps close Aranya Kaand nicely.

I don't understand why Raavan needs Akampana to tell him Shri Ram's history. In Valmiki Ramayan, Surpi herself knows who Ram is because, well, he basically tells her his life history starting from Dasharath's wish for a son and the Ashwameda yagna he conducted.
However, I did love how Akampana described Shri Ram's parakram until then.. There is a speciality in Ramayan.. Shri Ram's enemies usually end up praising/talking of his skills and abilities in glorifying words.. Be it Vaali, Maarich, Surpanakha etc.,.. It was nice to see it on screen.

Again, Shri Ram does not go into villages. Today they showed a full scale village with dance and drums in the middle of Dandakaranya😕

Vaali 2 second detective giri and conclusion that Sugriv was the one who trapped him in the cave was too quick. There was such a sudden change and Vaali is already out of the cave. The writers either write a scene in the speed of bullock carts or bullet trains.. There is nothing inbetween.

Raavan reached to the conclusion of abducting Sita very quickly. The expressions of actors in Lanka was very well done. I liked how Mandodari reacted and how Meghanand did.

Surpi's ;nose looks like Penelope from Penelope😆 They have changed the way it looked yesterday probably to highlight the cut nose. And Surpi is our typical serial vamp.. Her rant that she wants to see Ram 'suffer' after Sita's haran was in typical vamp style

SKR's tendency to show villages in the middle of Dandakaranya is so odd and geographically inaccurate. Dandakaranya was a dense jungle in which no human beings besides Ram, Lakshman and Sita lived. A few sages lived here and there, but many people had long ago fled the area due to the atrocity of Khar and Dushan.

If they could enter the villages and socialize, then what was the need to call it Vanvas? does that means both Asuras and human were co existed n dandak and Ram in filtered Asuras and gave that place to Humans?
