This show caters too much to modern sensibilities. In the beginning, Ram and his brothers barely touched their parents' or guru's feet, but after audience complained, they started showing them more respectful. Kids did not simply hug their parents back in that era. They would touch their feet first in respect, and then hug them.

A wife would touch her husband's feet, younger kids would touch elder siblings' feet, devars and nanads would touch elder bhabhi's feet, etc.

Today, such shows of respect are considered menial and humiliating by so many youngsters, many of whom have no sense of respect towards their elders, thus the show is not showing it.

Janaki di how r u?... But di Lakshman touching Sita feet is important later he will be able to recognize Sita anklets🤔

Ya , Regarding the duo not knowing how to cook is a bit wierd , in the gurukuls there was no chef to cook the food for students , the students were taught to cook and they did all the normal chores in groups.
In vishwamitra vs vashishta sequence , there was this scene where all students of vashishtha cooked food for the army

Also , what else confirms this fact is that when Ram and lakshman went along with vishwamitra , they must have cooked on the way till their stay with him , how could they have let their guru cook for them.

Lakshman said in the previous episode that they used to cook in guru vashishth ashram and Ram used to cook for them. They might be knowing the basics of cooking but not like Sita.

I'm good, how are you? :)

Yes, I agree. Lakshman touching Sita's feet is important to the storyline. He himself says that every morning, he received darshan of Sita Ma's feet, thus being able to recognize her anklets more than any other adornment.

SKR might choose to ignore that part (they'll mostly focus on Ram's pain) or they might give Lakshman that dialogue, making us assume it happened though they never showed it.

Exactly; as per Gurukul rules, it was the duty of students to beg for alms and then cook the grains for their Gurudev. Also when they went with Vishvamitra, they would not have made their Guru cook. They'd have cooked themselves.

In the episode, they made it seem like they did not even know the basics, how much water to use, how much salt to add, etc.

Granted, they probably would not know how to cook royal meals and rich curries, but for that matter, neither would Sita.

Unlike what SKR showed, Sita and her sisters grew up as royalty, and in that era royalty would not have stepped into the kitchen.

Like Ram and his brothers, Sita and her sisters may have learned the basics of cooking to help them survive if necessary, but Sita would not have learned to cook like the palace chefs. It's unrealistic as she was a princess.

So Ram, Lakshman and Sita would all have known the basics of cooking, like boiling rice, making simple daal, etc. In the forests, they probably survived off of roots and fruits the most, as I doubt they had access to rice and lentils, being away from villages and cities.

Unlike what SKR showed, Dandakaranya would not have had a village nestled into it. It was a dense jungle infested with demons. No human beings lived there, except a few sages here and there.

Sumi Dear

I understand your feeling , but Its not about support of just Lakshman , Its about support of correct storyline and support of correct portratyal of each and every character.

Any character getting butchered in a mytho is not acceptable

The Shri Ram, Lakshman, Sita bond was divine in Ramayana. The cvs got it so wrong by ignoring the Ram - Lakshman bind and spoiling the Sita -Lakshman bond😭
