That's just what the formula is. That is what is has always been. Rich girl/poor guy so parents don't approve - there's the hurdle. Couple is different religions - another hurdle. There's a love triangle - yet another hurdle. I could expand the list, but I'm sure you get my point.

In this case, Kunal's amnesia loss is the hurdle with interrupted the smooth-sailing Ishaan-Mauli marriage which you mention.

So this track:
1.) Serves as a hurdle to the MauHaan marriage
2.) Is a redemption track for Kunal. You may feel that redemption is not needed or it's a BS idea, but just because you feel like that, doesn't mean the vast majority does. I would hope the vast majority agrees that yes, Kunal does need to apologize and repent for his mistakes. As all people who have EMAs should - whether in reel life or real life
3.) The last and perhaps most important thing this track does is that it allows Mauli to sort out her feelings post the camp track. Now that she's back in her past, is that what she really wants? Sometimes we think we want something, but then we go back in time and realize everything was better in hindsight.

I personally think this is actually the most logical closure to an EMA show, or any show really. You take all the characters and tie all the lose ends together. It's like a before and after, a journey of growth, a journey of evolving relationships I.e. the name of the serial, Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka. Badalte being the keyword here.

In Kunal's case, he finally sees what he did wrong.

In Mauli's case, she's finally ready to move past that.

coming to my perspective as a normal viewer w/o maunal shipping in my mind...why the hell they introduce this memory loss track...i fail to understand till now...everything was going smooth for everyone be it mauhaan-mishti n pari-kunal...they were all happy in their new lives...yes it was shown that kunal was having feelings for her but knowing the zombie mode he is...he would stay silent...kunal gave mauli the closure she needs...she was happy with her new family...marriage in 8 days...everything was going smooth for maunal in separate ways...why the hell they introduce this memory loss track...6 yrs re-visit track...why the hell this track was needed...everyone is happy in their separate ways...why is the need to go 6 yrs back...EMA...questions and answers...regret...just let it be there and move on in life...till now i am wondering why the need of this track...when everyone is moving on...just get mauhaan married n shift the focus to sandhya household for that 1mnth...she is already giving the necessary drama...send kunal n pari to london n end his track...

why this memory loss track was introduce...now don't tell me that to make mauli realise that kunal cannot be given 2nd chance due to the EMA scar...this cannot be the reason becos even though mauli had feelings for him but the thought has never came across her mind to reconcile with kunal...they share a cordial working relationship and she respect the father he was to pari n also that he is mishti's father...so giving 2nd chance can never be the answer

falling in love with ishaan...there is no need of kunal memory loss to make her fall in love with ishaan...biggest joke...why need kunal memory loss to make her fall in love with ishaan...she is already with him...enjoying his company...marriage in 8 days...get them married and start a love story after marriage...why a need a memory loss drama...everyone was moving on...noone demanded questions...answers...regret n repent of pre-leap when everyone is moving on

So its not a joke. Its not for Mauli falling in love with Ishaan. Its for Mauli falling out of love with Kunal. That's my POV.

I wont say I am any couple fan myself , as I outgrew that when I crossed my teens.
But as a person who connected with Mauli as a character , I do want her to want Ishaan as a life partner rather than Kunal.

I somehow don't get the feeling that she has moved on from Kunal or in love with Ishaan...Mauli is not thinking about him at all, I don't see her thinking about how it would have been her wedding day. She might stop Kunal tomorrow because she is not the woman who will lose her morals, so Mauli will stop because of her values not because she has moved on or is in love with Ishaan...she will stop Kunal for herself...

Mauli has to forgive him to move on, she can't keep her past with herself for rest of her life and when she forgives him in true sense it could go either ways...

Kunal's memory loss is for him to see mauli and ishaan together the way mauli saw kunan. I don't know y u ppl can't see that. Mauli's biggest flaw is /was she could never prioritise her relations. I feel this track is for Kunal to repent how he hurt Mauli and for her to see where she erred. For eg: in today's episode also kunal grumbled that she always wants Mumma n dida with them. Well we know why Mauli said that, but Kunal doesn't as he has gone back in time.

I don't know. As a fan whose opinions have drastically changed as the show progressed I think they can still be together depending on what is written. Mauli remembers being in love with him and the good times but then they get shattered by all the Nandini stuff. Mauli's big resentment is that he stopped loving her and left her for Nandini. All that she sees now is fake to her. She kept asking him whether their love was ever true. So when he claims to love her she is probably seeing lies. She doesn't think he loves her at all. And all that scared stuff is not because he disgusts her and makes her uncomfortable. It's because she is afraid of walking that path again. At least that is my interpretation. We will see in coming days where it all goes. It could go either way.
