Social media sensation and reality show star Uorfi Javed recently shared a deeply personal chapter from her past—her battle with body dysmorphic disorder. In a conversation with Anshula Kapoor on her YouTube channel Bunkk with Uorfi, Uorfi opened up about how the condition once affected her both physically and emotionally.
Body dysmorphic disorder, often referred to as BDD, is a mental health condition where individuals obsess over perceived flaws in their appearance. For Uorfi, this began around three to four years ago, when the pressure to look a certain way drove her into unhealthy habits.
“I had stopped eating because I wanted to be skinny,” she revealed during the interview. “Surviving on just 3 to 4 pieces of chicken a day.” She added that during this time, she avoided proper workouts and instead relied only on running to maintain her appearance.

I was always cranky, I was always annoyed. If anyone spoke to me, I would be like ‘Why are you talking to me?’” she said, reflecting on how deeply the disorder impacted her day-to-day life.
Today, Uorfi says she has started to heal. She shared that she now follows a regular fitness routine, which includes lifting weights, and makes more mindful choices when it comes to her meals. “But recently, I have started going to the gym. I have started lifting weights. I have started eating well. Now I don’t care about being skinny.”
