In this situation I think the problem is the regard that everyone has for Radha Bua that makes them all mum on the situation....and while it irritates me and bugs me....I can kinda understand why the characters behave the way they did.....in Ishaan's case I think he feels helpless cuz he doesn't know what to say to Radha Bua and he doesn't know what to say to Suhana.....however I still did not like the fact that he didn't even go after her immediately after she left the room.....Inder and Rajni were the ones to immediately go after her seeing how hurt she was and how she left with tears in her eyes....how could that not move him enough to go after her atleast even if he couldn't have stood up for her in the moment?? That bugs me....

As for the real issue of Radha Bua and Deepak, I just felt TERRIBLE for Deepak today.....seriously my heart went out to the guy....how must it feel.....a mother who can't even bear to TOUCH him.....a mother who doesn't even remember his BIRTHDAY.....a mother who refuses to even WISH him on his b'day....a mother who refuses to just eat a piece of cake from his hand....I can't even begin to fathom.....Radha Bua may have suffered a terrible trauma but today all my sympathies lay with Deepak.....NO ONE deserves to be treated in that manner by their OWN mother....this is probably far worse than any kind of torture also a person can inflict on their own child.....I just can't see how this is justified and what explanation Radha Bua can give for not even ACKNOWLEDGING her child's BIRTHDAY?? Fine she doesn't want to look at his face cuz it reminds her of her rapist....but what of everything else?? Her son's LAUGHTER also pinches her?? What the hell kind of mother IS this?? Seriously I could not sympathize.....the ONLY and that too SLIGHT softening we saw from RB today was when she smiled a bit softly and fingered the medals that Deepak had won that Badi Maa was showing her....and that's it.....after that it went from bad to worse....poor Deepak.....this is too terrible.

And Suhana....I can't see from any angle how she was at fault....yeah she lands herself in trouble many times thanks to her penchant for being irresponsible, inconsiderate but what she was trying to do today was just a simple sweet gesture to brighten up someone's b'day....ALL she tried to do was make RB eat a piece of cake and what she got for that was unbelievable.....very interestingly shot scene though the way the camera panned to first show Suhana's smile freezing in place to be slowly overcome with surprised confusion and then gradual anger as she stared at everyone in turn....mostly at her husband who couldn't meet her eyes and wouldn't say anything and that's how her anger grew as she then turned to glare at everyone accusingly.....also interesting was the way Radha Bua stared at her own hand in shock over what she had just done before running out.....

Amazing episode overall with fantastic acting by everyone....but the person I felt the worst was for Deepak....somehow his pain feels the worse right now.

anu, this is exactly what i wanted to say,so thnx for saving me the energy to write it..lol..
quiet people like ishaan are often thought of as spineless...believe me they are not..i cn say it so confidently coz am in a relationship wid one such individual..yes,its frustrating to the core when he dsnt stand up for u in matters like this..for the simple reason tht he is not arguementative...its irritating and the question DOES come fwd as to how can u just stand there and not do anything when sum1 insults ur partner..and even i have put this question to sugato when he dsnt react to sum1 saying sumthn or insulting me...these guys prefer to take the backseat in situations like these coz they dnt like arguements..they will keep quiet there and come console u later in private..bt at tht moment, they prefer u fight ur own battles..i have also heard "u want me to fight for u?thn u will complain tht am a chauvinist, not letting u speak for urself" at one situation..the end result is tht everyone thnks kitna seedha aadmi hai...iski wife/girlfriend to isey dominate karti hogi...
bt it DSNT mean tht they dnt take their own decisions..u can see it in the show as well, ishaan hasnt yet gotten rid of his scooter..nor has he chaged his personality outrageously to suit suhana..forget suhana, hasnt every member of the family memtioned at one time or the other abt how ishaan does what he wants to do,finally..and he will not..they can be the most stubborn people in the world, and its more difficult to deal wid coz they do it in their quiet, dignified manner..giving u very sensible explainations similar to how ishaan dealt wid not going to the party widout his scooter...

Hmmm .... very eloquently put 👏

Though I wouldn't jump up and say that Ishaan has no backbone (as he does stand up for the things he believes in), I wasn't terribly thrilled with the fact that Inder and others had to tell him to go and console Suhana. Even though he was helpless to speak up when RB slapped Suhana (as she is a mother figure for him), the least he could've done was walk out of the room with Suhana thus showing her his support. Sometimes silence is more powerful than words.

THAT was the thing that bothered me the most.

Amen! That's what I've been saying for the past so many days. While I can truly truly, and I really mean truly empathize with RB, I do not like her way of issuing the cruelest form of judgment against her own son.

And I also agree with someone who said that it must be a directorial glitch to see the Kashyap family's helplessness in the matter. Somehow it contradicts the set of values they believe in.
