If I may jump in... I am newer than most to this serial, and would be fibbing to say in was Gunjan and her causes that attracted me to it, but I believe that this cause was probably the most worthy (imo, having taken the time to watch old epis) that the show and she had taken up, but at the same time think that it is an absolutely brilliant move by cvs that Gunjan has been made to return home!
As mentioned previously in this post this issue does seem to be an insurmountable cause for one person to take up, and although she has returned home in apparent defeat, I don't believe that Gunjan will not rest on her laurels and forget about this matter and will continue fighting for this cause, even if it is from Banaras
BUT...and please I mean no offence at all to Gunjan and her fans, she has never been limited in achieving her goals, and honestly it seemed (imo) unrealistic. That being said, I think this set back speaks to both the severity of this issue, but is also serving as a character defining moment. I watched yesterday's epi this morning, and feel that it has served the purpose to make Gunjan relatable again, and not the superwoman she is portrayed as, and in that can bring those fans who may have felt alienated by her and her causes back.
My only dissatisfaction is that it was this cause that had to suffer. Of all them, and there have been some nonsensical ones of late, I think this one that everyone would like to see to come to a successful conclusion, whether it had been Gunjan, Mayan, or even the entire Garg clan, who helped resolve in the end. Indeed I hope that Gujnjan is still able to effect some change for this village, but I can also see what s trying to be done as well by seemingly halting the track as well.
I know that I have rambled on, and realize that the original intent of the post was the cause itself, not the characters, but I hope you don't mind me sharing my views.
