Hey guys!
I see posts of Rachana and Kabir only, how about we have a post about Gunjan, and the social cause she is fighting for! :)
What we are seeing is whats actually happening in the Villages in our country, unfortunately. I really wish, people from the cities could come together in support of the village girls, and do something for them! Most of the villagers' thinking are back dated, because there hasn't been anyone whom they trust or believe to help change their thinking and 'man-made traditions' Men are given utmost power to do as they please, and just to save 'face' the women folk, force girls to obey. Here I am talking about marriage of young girls.
As for the loo issue, that is a very big one, as well! With the help of finance, loos at their homes, can be made possible to build. But no one is coming forward to do that. There is no point at all, to go to the government and expect them to help. We the people, should come together to make a difference.
We are living in the 21st century for crying out loud!! but people in villages, unfortunately, are still living in the 18-19th century, with their thinking and practices.. just a shame, for us Indian, overall..
If the right kind of people are given the importance and power, then the large rate of crime, too can be helped brought in control. Just by protesting, we can't expect anything to be accomplished, but infact, we need to do something about the issues. Men, women both!
Gunjan is still a character, however, the guts, dedication and passion she has towards making and bringing a difference among the villagers, is what we all should have! If only the efforts to bring the change could continue, I'm sure lots have thoughts, wishes and desires to bring such a change, however, due to lack of proper resources, guidance and support, many fall out from this.
Sigh, hope really hope, this helps in opening more eyes of the people, around in our country, and also in the world.. Only together, we can make a difference and bring a change... United we stand, Divided we fall.. the choice is in our hands.. Jai Hind!
