One more interesting point is - during recording, only after track is composed the singers are asked to sing so that way a singers needs to keep an eye on the track so that he does not sing off the track.. Or can it be adjusted after the recording?? 😕

But just these two places
Listen to him when he sings Teri Deeewani at 1.37 where he starts Teri Deewani before the track is played and at 1.55 to 1.57 where his voice was screeching..

Anu ...
i heard the song over and over again ...
i am not saying that i know the best... but i have myself sung in various competitions... and that too on track... its like u can adjust ur words as per the beats...
u can start early or even end late but that should be such that u dont miss a beat..
i strongly disagree that he misses any beats all throughout the song...
infact the offbeat rendition is something ..in which we are given more points... as it shows ur control over the rhythm

It was just my opinion labullet, i felt that way.. Even im not best in judging the songs, esp when it comes to track.. Well, we all know he is one of the best singers we are going to have in the future.. So, im sure - when it comes to recording these small mistakes will definitely not be shown in the song and he has bright future 😊

Raja is very good at modifying songs and make them sound better than the original. When sang too fast, he was doing the same, maybe not with the best results. But listen to him sing and then hear back the original songs and you will see how much he changes the songs for the better. Only someone with very good knowledge in classical music can do.

He is simply the best I have heard, and I have been following Saregampa for about 7 years now...

I dont know how many of you feel the same..

Anu, at 1:37 as u mentioned abt him starting his "Teri Deewani" early on, I did not notice any such thing..he sang it right on the taal..

at 1:57 where he delayed saying the word "deewani" is deliberate, its perfectly okay and allowed to do that, infact many singers do that..Raja himself has done that kind of delay in "Allah ke bande" where he sings "toota toota" at one place..its normally started after half a beat, but at one time he sings it on two beats and says the words more slower than normal there, its done deliberately..it doesnt mean he had started the word early..u can see what I'm talking abt at 07:14 in this video..

About the screeching that u mentioned, I think it was more of a voice break at the high note..but that was not at all bad or didnt go off-tune..

I do agree with u about ending the line abruptly though..he normally never does that, I noticed it for the first time with Raja in this song only..especially in the beginning of the song..infact I have often noticed this "ending the line abruptly" thing with Poonam..she does that a lot, although I like her singing a lot, this is one thing I don't like abt her..

U r right..this has indeed been an interesting discussion 😊

yes ending the line abruptly thing is very true with poonam in most of her songs..
raja invariably gives a fade off feel to all his lines .. but he didntdo the same in the alaap of teri deewani..
well... he did the required fading off... in the last lines.. when it almost sounded like a musical instrument being played..(note the last line)
so i think that abrupt ending of the alaap lines.. was deliberate ....
but i too would have preferred the smoothness in the end notes of alaap.
