Absolutely right Lalbullet..

I think that this kind of thing shud actually be done by those music directors--who are experts in their field..pointing out where the contestants went wrong, or appreciating/acknowledging a good variation..etc. One wud think thats why they are sitting there each time, to give their valuable opinions for the contestants and the viewers to hear the same..😕

dhruvie .. i read ur previous reviews/comments and they were really good ... so never underestimate urself..
ppl like u are required to make this initiative a success...
ditto for doremefa and others

hello all... first time i'm posting here, so my two cents.. totally agree with what dhruvie05 says. that's the sort of thing i would expect from a show like saregamapa. sad that hindi saregamapa does not do it. this is precisely what the marathi saregamapa judges (two regulars - devki pandit and avdhoot gupte and one guest - different each week and always an expert in music incl. singers like suresh wadekar, hariharan n other well known names from the classical field) do.

with whatever smattering of marathi i know, it's sheer joy to watch the show... with the judges critically appraising every performance, pointing out the mistakes and appreciating the good points, always doing it politely and with dignity. the best part is, there's zero drama (guess some ppl may find it boring, as it's more serious). one gets to learn so much, it's almost like taking music lessons twice a week... and what i don't understand in terms of the language, well, the music more than makes up for it! sangeet ki bhaasha apne aap suron mein bhigo hi deti hai...

ps - also, apologies if i've deviated too much from the main topic. just wanted to point out that the same show can be done differently.

wow, i wish hindi saregamapa would be like this. in fact it was like that before challenge 2005: that's when they became more of a reality show than a talent show, and not surprisingly, that's when this show became a lot more popular. i have been watching this show since 1997, but my friends only started watching it in 2005.

Yes, i have watched the Z Marathi episodes. On sat ID just said "Tumhe Lower notes sudhar nehi honge", but he never told how. Whereas in Marathi SRGMP the judge told them how to do the reeyaz to improve lower notes. Expecially by choosing different scales and how to practice every "sur" in what pattern. They are true to their judgement and they really focus on selecting the best. No hype - as a matter of fact Devaki Tai is very particular about judgement and telling the mistakes right away so that the contestant can improve.

Here our mentors are busy with their own showmanship and egos.
