in that this guy called akash posted this link. i completely agree with what he said. i think we shud vote for talent when given the chance.
why dont u chek it and perhaps v can all give our support???

Here goes my opinion for the two days show:

Friday's Performances and show:

Performance of the contestants was definitely better than the previous episodes.. good improvement by many contestants.. Musarrat, Harpreet and Junaid performed really well 👏 Loved Musarrat's Aap ki Kashish.. He didnot imitate and sung it in his own style.. Junaid and Harpreet were also close to him.. Saaberi's performance was good.. Poonam was perfect technically, but sounded Nasal.. Mauli was worst.. Soniye song is one which has lot of soul in it.. She missed out the pain in the song and sung it like an item number and sung it in totally different style.. ID's dance on the spot, VS's encouragement for the contestants were somethings which i enjoyed..

A very emotional episode too at the end with Bipin talking about Himesh and his career.. Brought in tears for many on the sets and also those who were watching it 😭

Give it - 8/10

Saturday's Performance and Show:

Good Performance by Poonam and Musarrat.. Harpreet, Junaid and Saaberi performed really well.. I loved Harpreet's performance as RR said - "Hawa aur ghataa ke saath saath main bhi jhoom raha thaa" even i was moved by the song.. Very soulful.. Again Mauli, Anita and Brijesh were bad.. Brijesh's was worst.. In this episode Mauli should have been eliminated but got saved by HR after she sang Maiyya Maiyya.. Dunno if they are going to make her sing only Maiyya Maiyya till the end 😕 I agree with Vishal - Gaane ko rathna nahin chahiye, gaana chahiye.. Probably she needs more practice.. The Mauli part seemed totally scripted for the sake of TRP

Give it - 6.5/10 and this is only for performers like Harpreet, Saaberi and Junaid..

Overall good show got to hear some good performances.. I have started liking Harpreet 😳😳 He really touched my heart with his song 😳

Himesh's harping on genre is getting on my nerves. Agreed he has a point. But in a competition when other contestatns are trying and succeeding at multiple genres, one contestant sticking to a single genre is at a disadvantage. In Mauli's case she is repeating one song to save her from elimination. whenever she messes up she repeats maiya to show she is has "potential".

The point is if she had tried multiple songs in a single genre I could still have considered. Why didn't she try ek pal hai jeena from Kaho na pyaar hai or something. Though I try to be fair with Himesh he is missing the point totally this time.

Sanchita also tried mutliple item songs/Sunidhi originals, but we all know her potential, she did a great job with slower numbers(KANK etc). Similiarly Sameer was lablled a tapori singer, but he made us cry with Tujhse naaraz. Even those kids had greater range than Mauli. Genre singing is all very well, but not if you make a fool of yourself in other ways.

I think Himesh this time made a lot of sense.

He made a very valid point on saturday that everyone can sing all kinds of songs but it is certain voices meant for certain type of songs. He gave an example like you cannot make K L Saigal sound like Kishore Kumar or Kishore Kumar like KL Saigal. As soon as the other sings the same song it will sound totally different, the mood , the momentum everything. Dont you think this statement actually has a lot of weight and makes perfect sense?

Mauli has become the Maiyya maiyya -one time wonder girl, but had she sang a rhythm song , may be not item number but a song with more beats and tempo , she would have featured much better. So what does that mean? her voice is suited for a certain type of songs.

Take Sunidhi and Shreya for example. Both are excellent singers, but Shreya's voice suits the lilting melodies more. She brings out the soul in them. Now take Sunidhi's voice, it has the punch for the power packed songs.Imagine Shreya singing beedi jalai le and Sunidhi singing piyu bole. would the songs still have sounded like they were meant to?

That is why we have so many playback singers. Each catering to a certain requirement. There are plenty of them. So when they select now, it should be based on what their forte is.

I am not saying that they should not try out variations.In a competition there will always be themes and one has to perform based on themes. But even in love songs, happy songs, sad songs,or for any of the MD's there are fast beat songs also, as well as soft slow melody.Choose wisely based on forte and it is the actual song selection that does the trick.

I guess Vishal also was trying to make the same point.

haha that was a silly analogy. would have worked if KK and kl saigal were some item guys and then one could be rightly worried about getting slotted too narrowly. boss, if someone could even sing a fraction of what those guys could, they'd cover a lot of the range in hindi film music.

cant have someone just specialize in one song, forget about even a narrow genre, forget about even coming close to the range of KK and kl saigal. throw in rafi, and that's all of hindi film music, pretty much. not just item genre material.

good to talk about roti, biryani and hit albums, but last i noticed one needs at least a couple of tracks in an album. jab dekho. mayya mayya😆

oh, and another thing. i think abhijeet had a point. with MDs like these judging the show, who needs to sing anything other than mayya mayya? bas mayya mayya gawa lo din bhar kuch ladkiyon se and we get the winner. 😉

also, HR seems to be projecting what a guy like musarat will sound after all the pitch correction and sound effects are put in the studio. boss, i didnt know this was about finding a singer to fit your technology. 😛 also if we had to take your word for what will sound good in the studio, then why bother with these live performances.

i think these MDs need to start judging with their ears open, not with their eyes all popped out. 😉 and what was up with roshan and khayyam? have they also turned into dummies now? that girl anita gave a nice tight one with her question whether they meant what they had told her previous day about her being a great singer. exposed the shallowness and hypocrisy in the entire proceedings.

i liked episodes dis week....quite enlightening to say d least...

You are right. It was so unfair eliminating Anita, just because she is from Ekalavya gharana. Like in history, this Ekalavya also got unfair treatment. This mentoring thing this is really turning to be a ********. They are just bulling, even the guest judges are like puppets. Only Ashaji spoke her mind, so she had to face these manipulative mentors.
