Now that the selections of the winners will be done by viewers it looks like it is going to be a tough fight. everyone (at least on this forum) has his/her own favorites and they will be backing them. I would like to mention my favorite singer too ..

According to me Sharib is the guy to win the event. All those things the mentors are talking about - rooh, sur, gayaki, emotion are presnt in ample amount in Sharib. Also, i feel al least 2 of the songs he has sung have been sung better than the original singer - "Laagi Tumse man Ki lagan" and "Aashik Banaya aapne". He has shown that he can sing high pitch the best among all the male singers in the competition (Tadap Tadap). The only performance of his which i felt was not up to the mark was his rendition of "Chaiyya Chaiyya". Apart from that he has been very good. Also none of the others have chosen songs of high calibre which demonstrate his range in singing.

His competition would come from Debojit who is also very good. Rajiv and Vineet are not that good, I feel . Especially Rajiv, who falters on sur many times and is overhyped . Hemachandra is very pukka on sur, but most of the songs he choses dont have that much of a range.

I have another request to ask from anyone who is reading this and plans to vote for their favorite singers. Please base your vote only on the merit of their singing and not on any other attributes. I have heard comments like this singer is "ghamandi" or that singer's comments about her/his parents/wife were were touching etc, etc. The fact remains that we just get to see on TV whatever ZeeTV shows us and we are in no position to make a judgement about the character of an individual singer based on that. Please remember that basically Gajendra Singh can make any singer look humble or "ghamandi" just by the way of his editing the program !

In any case , it should not matter to us what kind of a person the singer is in real life. What we can make a judgemnet on is the person's singing and lets base our favorites on just that .

This is my humble opinion ......

excellent post chimichanga... I am in agreement with you.
I rate Sharib to be a top contender. I still cannot get over how Rajeev can be judged to be better than Nanu, Dilshad, or Abhijeet.

I am yet to get out of the shock how this besura guy toppled Debojit!!!

Partially ofcourse because of partial Kumar (lachak) Sanu too...

Shame on you!

I have also seen some of your other posts, where, without understanding, you started yapping about castes, maharashtrians, mumbaites etc. etc.

As music lovers, all of us order you to desist from such parochial non-sensical comments, going forward. Else, we will ask the moderators to take appropriate action on you and your posts. Remember that!

I agree, that statement was really funny or rather ridiculous. How can being a Muslim affect singing contest judgment..It looks that kamathrekha is orthodox or biased and not khayyamji.

Well said chimchanga. This is the first time someone has posted a nice piece on Sharib. I like him very much. He is the best when it comes to singing high pitch songs (tadap tadap, lagi tumse, chhaiyya chhaiya, allah ke bande, aasihq banaya). I think, Vineet & Hema can sing well in higher notes too. Debo is good in melodious songs (ae subah, rimjhim gire etc) though sometimes the feel is missing in his songs. I never liked Irfan except for Roothke humse kahin. His voice is very plain. Rajeev has a powerful voice but doesn't deserve a place in final (Abhijit is much better than him). I hope either Vishwas or Abhijit comes thru Bramhastra.

MAY THE BEST WIN!

When I first heard the original song, I couldn't tell if it was a human voice or an animal howling. Later I looked at the videos to confirm it was the latter😆.
However Sharib seems to an intense singer and may not be as versatile as it would be required to win the contest in the finals

I wonder if Himesh reshemiya is getting the sympathy votes ... cuz i just cant see people voting for his group just because vineet is there. Im not taking anything away from vineet he is a very good singer, 100 times better than Rajeev, but honestly people shouldnt be votting just because his group has less people and you feel smpathy for him. Evvery one know who Himesh will brong baack if he gets the chance ;)

Good observation👏 What makes you think the ratings are not manipulated by Zee TV to stage a equal opportunity for all gharanas? I am skeptical about so many people voting for that Clown.
