I also observed that as soon as singers from his group started getting eliminated his grarana ratings went up.😉

i am not sure about Joyeeta- i think ujjaini, vineeta and sanchali might be there...among boys it might be paresh, Vishwaas and aishwarya.

Just joined the forum today.. My favourites for the show:

Girls: Ujjaini, Himani.. Nihira has a god-gifted voice but I think cannot sing all kind of songs..

Guys: Sharib, Debojit.. Hemachandra has same issues as Nihira..

My favourites for Brahmastra round are:

Girls: Ujjaini, Joyita, Sanchali

Guys: Dilshad, Vishwaas, Irfan

Nobody disputes Rajiv sings well, but he goes off-key most times and that is not the criteria for the finals. If you're going with the "rooh" type of singing, then there are many who can sing from the rooh and in 'sur' that have not reached the finals, why should they be left behind? On the day he was given the green card, Debojit sang from his soul as well as in perfect tune, but because AS made a comment (very cunningly before judgement) that Rajeev sang from the rooh which is the catchword when Kumar Sanu sings for them, Rajeev got it, believe me if Daler Mahendi was on that judgement panel that day, he would not have selected Rajeev because he was singing off tune.

So true. I wish they could bring some parity on the way the contestants are judged. Apart from the sur, the rooh et al , a lot depends on the contestants' luck by way of the judges present that day. I really hope something is done for the Agni Pariksha to avoid any unfairness to the contestants.

At the same time, on the positive side, I feel all the contestants who have reached so far are truly lucky as the top music directors have heard them and either have already given them or are soon going to give them great opportunities for playback singing, irrespective of how they fare in the finals.

I agree that Rajiv does not deserve to be in the finals because he is not as talented as others. However you simply cannot overlook the fact that on that particular day, he was better than the others. Considering the fact that none of them sang with perfect sur, it is difficult to make a judgement.
But you simply cannot say that Adesh is lucky and most decisions go his way. Except for the Rajiv decision, there is no decision that was unjust. He is a great mentor and he has deserving students.
