Media will pay attention to something only which public follows.. not the other way round... Until public is connected, they will not even care who wins... The judges and panel have been selecting winners for so so long... how much media attention have they got??? Nothing as compared to the shows last couple of years...

yes there is a business aspect to the show format.. but at the end of it, it still promotes talent, and with stronger base.. and that is what matters!

Excellent topic jaya and very good points raised everyone👏👏

Gauri - the world will be best if they are the winners.. no doubt about that.... but to me, more than winning the competition, the launch platform is important... and the current format of the show is a more effective launch platform 😃

from what I understand, point here is not that if talent is being identified or not, but the point here is , if this kind of competetion be judged by public / viewer / participants relatives. In that case, I dont think it should be judged by public / viewer / participants relatives. and they should not have any say in deciding results.👍🏼

The point here is - whether the talent gets their due recognition and is the platform being effective in moving them forward... and hence choose a decision making format that suits this objective best.. and to me, its a combination of judges and public voting that can attain it smoothly 👍🏼

ofcourse it doesnt end here and thats why need the recognition and prize too to help them to start off the struggle on a positive note.to me if iam more deserving i will be dissappointed if i wont get the prize that i desrve 😕😕.....and its human nature..importent to boost your confidence that you need in early stage of struggle.

First we need to decide the objective here -- do we want to find the talent or do we want the best participant/real talent to win the competetion ??? 😆

jaya ji, I completely agree with you that recent format of SRGMP of any musical competetion - reality shows, are helping to identify participants more to aam janata through the media. BUT that doesnt mean a competetion can be judged by them.😆

just for popularity as I said, all media exposure can be done.....but not to decide winner/ real talent of a competetion , that wont be fair at all for anyone!!! yes anyone!!😆

A lot of #1s over past many years have failed to make it big... inspite of being extremely talented... why? because the format of the show never gave them the connection with people? they never got the attention from public, media and most importantly the biggies of the music industry that was all important to them? Yes they won the competition - what happened after that?? Isn't that a lot lot lot more dissapointing!!

If I am deserving and talented - I will not aim just at winning the compeition.. I will aim at making it big... Competition may be just a part of it, but not the ultimate destination... confidence will be boosted a lot more if my talent is recognized... and I get the break... Winning the competition may just be the small resting station but certainly not the destination... I will be lot lot more dissapointed if I win and no one even cares.. This has happened a lot in the past in the same show and we certainly dont want to repeat those again

i was not following the arguements properly..i get about half an hour per visit to the forum..most of the time is spent correcting my typing errors😆....i usually blindly post what ever comes to my head...

But why do u think the media and aam junta are giving them all the attention? Because they are are part of the show - the decision making process gives them that ownership feeling... Take it away from them and they wont even care... Past years of SRGMP are proof to that...

And as you agreed - the current process helps to identify the talent lot easier.. and giving them a better launching platform...

That to me, is the all important objective of the talent hunt show 😊

After some time nobody will be really going to be interested in SMSing the choice. (easy way of making money for the channel !) and let the experienced Judges choose the right candidate so that colour of skin, looks, regionality .Has any South Indian won any of these competitions whether it is Zee or Sony contests?( and btw iam not south indian 😆 )Good talent should be chosen. Look at the people who were chosen in Zee's SaReGaMaPa by talented Judges -Kunal Ganjawalla, Shreya Ghosal.

In Saregama Hemachandra should have won... and less said the better about the winners of Fame Gurukul.
please stop this eye wash and conduct truly good and healthy competitions.
