Appa, has informed me that he is very much with the show
so it is going on.

I encougages participants, supporters and others to visit sa re gam pa rounds/results thread.

I also request that they just not say slogans yet offer advice/moral support....I saw that earler on with Appa and SUr group lets keep it up...

Pujini, pleasebe available 4 questions, same with Sur, and Appa(who never got around the 1st time)...

I would appreciate if mentors would give time to answer questions that are posted in that thread to get interaction going. Same goes to supporters, and participants..

I want the thread tobe informative, intellectual, and humorous as well...

most importantly interesting and think as a group here we should get involved and notbe mere bystanders ok

Now the next round.... The next round theme is S D Burman. So get started. Do post here itself the songs that you give to the participants. But better would be if each mentor post all their choice in a single post. That way we don't have to hunt for them.

Since this is an SD Burman round, I take the liberty of being a little verbose. I love that old man and his tunes. Also, since others have been promoting their gharanas until they are hoarse, let me do a bit of promotion too.

"Tadbeer se bigdi hui taqdeer bana le" is the song with which SD Burman is said to have "arrived". It's a racy club song in which SD made Geeta Roy sing in a totally new style. According to Dev Anand, this song from the movie "Baazi" made cinema goers throng the theatres just to see Geeta Bali singing the song. This is the song I have chosen for Pradarshak and she has given her best to the song. "Dekhne mein bhola hai" is from the movie "Bombai ka Babu" which is replete with gems composed by SDB. Picturised on a dazzling Suchitra Sen, this song is a playful, naughty song with the flavour of Punjabi folk. I present this song sung by T, who has managed to capture all the playfulness of Asha Bhonsle's voice and even added her own terrific "seasoning"! Jeevan ke safar mein raahi is from the movie "Munimji". While the movie is nothing to write home about, the music is absolutely superb. I chose this song for Viper because it seems to fit with his personality. Now for the dessert after the main course. "Yeh tanhaai haai re haai" from "Tere ghar ke saamne" is one of those rare diamonds composed by SDBurman which has been picturised on a carefree Nutan. I could entrust this song only to Swastika (Urmi) and no one else in my team. It is such a high pitched song that it is difficult to retain sweetness in the voice! Urmi has done it and how! Her classical training has helped her in getting the "sur" absolutely right.

The show has to go on ..... It appears that dedlines are just lines in sand - this is discipline and commitment at the highest levels I have ever seen. We have to get serious, it is too loose right now - need to tighten up - I find this very amazing !

I was away and have just returned. Have read the whole mess that has happened.

Appa please post this rounds songs then we can later on sort out the problem too.

If for some reason Appa is unable to come to the forum my request to the participants is that they post the download links. When he comes back we can then handle rest of the issues too.
