Hello Everybody,

I am here to announce something very sad. Yalgaar Gharana might not have any female contestants (ummm and Sunitha) after this week.

As you all know that ummm was supposed to go on a vacation on 25th. The initial plan was to have her record all the songs and send it to me. I would have posted the songs every week. But Ummm is suffering from a throat infection for the last few days and the doctors recommended that she observes "MAUNVRAT" for few more days. So she will not be able to sing any more for this contest.

Sunitha had to go to India for a family emergency. Her father is very sick. So, she was forced to pull out of this contest. Let us all pray for a speedy recovery of Sunitha's father.

So right now Yalgaar gharana only has two male contestants (coolest_one, and Solidsnake). So, guys the future of the gharana is on your shoulders.

I think that an imbalance has been created here. So mentors and co-ordinators please suggest what could be done about it.

Well, this does take away a lot of fun from the competition! I hope Umm recovers soon! It would be nice if she could record even during vacation. All she needs is a mike and a computer...Wish Sunitha's father returns to health soon.

However, I would like to make it clear that I will not agree to any contestants being taken out of my gharana to oblige anyone else. If the organisers want to extend the deadline so that a couple of more new contestants join the various gharanas, that is fine with me.

Let me make it very clear that "HUM TOOT SAKTE HAI, JHUK NEHI SAKTE".

I don't even need anyone from your gharana. The people who get used to be in the company of the BESTS cannot compromise and settle for anything. I would rather quit the contest than begging for contestants from other gharana's.

Kindly stop denigrating other contestants by saying that you have got used to the best and won't settle for anything less and so on. Pride comes before a fall, as has been aptly illustrated. Until now I did not hype my contestants simply because I know their singing will fetch them whatever accolades they deserve.

It is you who requested for the imbalance to be corrected and that is why I set the record straight by saying that I will not give up anyone from my gharana though I am ready to let new entrants come in.

The final list of SD Burman songs being sung by my contestants:

First let me clarify that I have never said that the imbalance should be corrected. I have asked for suggestions from the mentors and organisers about what could be done. It was you who has said that you will not give up any contestant from your gharana to oblige anyone.

1. Did I ask for any contestant from your gharana? So why did you mention it. You are taking the whole thing too seriously. Please loosen up.

2. I don't need anyone from your gharana. BOTTOMLINE.

Appaji has said "I think that an imbalance has been created here. So mentors and co-ordinators please suggest what could be done about it". I have said that the current contestants should not be shifted around to correct the balance and Appaji has "kindly" seconded this. So my further suggestions after "serious" thinking are:
1)to extend the contest deadline to May 28
2)more contestants be allowed to participate. If two more contestants can be found, they can go to Appaji's gharana.
3)If there are more than two who are interested, the remaining ones can be distributed among other gharanas.

This might rectify the imbalance.
