The other song "Dheere Dheere Machal, aye dil e bekaraar, koi aata hai" by Suman Kalyanpur is another of my favourite.

The lyrics "Uske daaman ki kushboo haawaaon mein hai, unke kadmoon ki aahat phizaaon mein hai, mujhko karne karne de, shola shringar koi aata hai"

and "Rootkar pehle jee bhar sathaoongi main, jab manayenge woh, maan jaaongi main" just say the whole story in words. So much of love in the words that it needs no expressions besides the lyrics itself.

Wasn't that Lata? Oh the lyrics are magic. I loved "Rooth kar jee bhar..." too!

MMMM... and another completely drenched in romance song is the "Saara Pyaar tumhara, maine baand liya hai Aanchal mein, Tere naye roop ki nayi aada hum dekha karenge pal pal mein", picturised again on Sharmila Tagore and Utaam kumar, as they imagine the arrival of their child and plan their life around it... its another of the timeless classics.

Hey Jeetendra was great in Caravan. I liked all the songs in that. In fact he wasn't a bad dancer you know.

One person said it was Lata another said it was Suman Kalyanpur.

What about "yaadon ki baraat nikli hai aa dil ke dwaarein" by Tariq and Vijay Arora? I find it quite poignant when the two of them embrace at the end of the song while poor Dharmendra looks on incognito. This song has brought out sibling love really well.

Years ago, I am told that when my uncle saw this movie, he immediately started phoning all his brothers one by one saying that he missed them.

It has to be Lata. Suman's voice gives way in the high notes.

Vijay Arora had too much grease paint and Tariq had garish dress sense. But the movie somehow is very cute and nice.
