I love the song. I just wish Bharat Bhushan had some better expressions. I mean, Madhubala was in front of him and he could only keep his dead pan expression 😛

Wow Priya..... in this song the best part was the starting. Bharat Bhushan writing out the song lyrics and is not getting his second line. Madhubala, hiding from the gunda's, comes from behind and says "Hum Zamaane Ko.... " That was very cute....

Do Ghadi Woh Jo Paas Baithe was a mast mast composition. Who was it? It has Madan Mohan written all over it. Is it Madan sahab?

Yes Madan Mohan.........

Thats right Bhaskar. She was just so beautiful, and it appeared on the black and white picture as if she had very little or no make up on. What a beauty and what a song.

Was she cuckoo. I will find out. I think I have the VCD of the movie. Will definitely check it out tonight, when I get home 😃

There was a song of Shammi Kapoor, picturised with a girl called Ameeta, with Shammi Kapoor trying to romance her, on a small wooden bridge with some village belles in the background.

"Chupne wale saamne aa, chup chup ke mera jee na jala, suraj se kiran, badal se pawan, kab tak chupoogi yeh toh bata"

Yes it was a wonderful song. In the same movie, there is "kuch dil ne kaha, kuch bhi nahi" picturized on Sharmila Tagore which was beautiful. That movie was really different.

What I liked about this song was that Bharat B wrote the words which he wanted Madhubala to sing and she wrote down the words that he should sing. Yes BB always had deadpan looks. 😊 but was perceived to be the ultimate gentleman lover by many.

Wait...is her name - Cuckoo?

If you are referring to the girl in "jaane kaha mera jigar gaya ji" no she was NOT Cuckoo. Cuckoo was a Helen-clone who came as an extra in many movies. The girl in question did just "Mr & Mrs 55" before she went to Russia.

😆 The shagird songs were very nice again.

From that first song, I love the lyrics of the song.. its funny and cute

The song from Anupama "Ya dil ki suno duniya waloon" showing a quiet Sharmila Tagore walk through the garden, while Dharmendra is singing in a hall, lit with just one spotlight stays for long in the memory. The whole movie is beautiful. Sharmila Tagore's potrayal of a quiet girl, neglected by her father is so touching.

The other song "Dheere Dheere Machal, aye dil e bekaraar, koi aata hai" by Suman Kalyanpur is another of my favourite.

The lyrics "Uske daaman ki kushboo haawaaon mein hai, unke kadmoon ki aahat phizaaon mein hai, mujhko karne karne de, shola shringar koi aata hai"

and "Rootkar pehle jee bhar sathaoongi main, jab manayenge woh, maan jaaongi main" just say the whole story in words. So much of love in the words that it needs no expressions besides the lyrics itself.

Another fav of mine from the same combination with Rajesh Khanna added. It's from the movie Khamoshi.

Woh Shaam Kuch Ajeeb Thhi, Yeh Shaam Bhi Kuch Ajeeb Hai.

Love that song. Infact I like all the songs from this movie. It's tragic in the end but good movie.
