Twinkle Khanna celebrates 30 years of Barsaat with Bobby Deol, adds her trademark humour to the nostalgia

Twinkle Khanna took a nostalgic trip down memory lane as her debut film Barsaat completed 30 years since its release. The 1995 romantic drama also marked Bobby Deol’s first film, making it a milestone for both the actors who entered Bollywood together under Rajkumar Santoshi’s direction.

On Monday, Twinkle shared a post on Instagram that featured two old pictures — one candid and one from a romantic sequence — with Bobby. She wrote, “Hard to believe that it’s been thirty years and we are still here doing our thing. @iambobbydeol just sent me this picture from our Barsaat days. I suppose disappearing gracefully was never our style :) #30YearsOfBarsaat.”

Bobby, who came across the post, dropped a few red heart emojis in response, reflecting their continued friendship over the years.

In the first photo, Bobby is seen pulling a funny face while Twinkle poses with a straight expression. The second picture brings back the trademark Bollywood romance of the 90s, capturing the pair in a soft, emotional moment.

Released in 1995, Barsaat introduced both Bobby and Twinkle as promising newcomers, and they even bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Debut that year. While Bobby continued acting and went on to deliver several memorable performances, Twinkle eventually stepped away from films after a few years and reinvented herself as an author and columnist.

Today, she is known for her sharp wit and bestselling books, while Bobby has seen a major career resurgence after Animal, where he played the antagonist opposite Ranbir Kapoor. His performance drew massive praise, establishing him once again among audiences and filmmakers.

Twinkle, on the other hand, recently launched her celebrity talk show Two Much on Amazon Prime Video with Kajol. The show’s first episode featured Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, followed by Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in the second.
