What an episode. The choices. The hands. But what decide the hands you take. Of course dharma or knowledge. Anami tells in Kurushetra himsa happened or violence happened. In that violence Mahadani Karna was killed, virtuous Bhishma was killed, great guru drona was killed, the gadha warrior Duryodhan was killed and Ghatokkach was killed. Pandavas got the kingdom which was colored with the blood of their own. I was very happy Anami didnt mention Abhimanyu and Dusshashan. Because her idea of peace stems from the half knowledge she has about the war. It was good that Poonam reminded her what Pandithayan has told, if you are right dont bow, if you are wrong dont fight. But the problem is what if you are half right and half wrong. What if the choice is based on half knowledge. The dangerous choice of half knowledge. The Chakravyuha that killed the great warrior Abhimanyu the 16 year old. Anami has not reached the point where she recognizes this.
Now what is Anami's half knowledge about Kurushetra. The half knowledge is that the people didnt become animals in that battle field. Himsa really didnt happen in that battlefield. The himsa that happened in that battlefield was to get the justice for the himsa happened in the infamous hall of dice. The himsa where a woman was made a pawn in the game of dice, where she was dragged by her hair and brought to the sabha comprising full of men. A woman who was mensurating at that time, who was not in the clothes appropriate to be worn to the sabha was bought there enraging her modesty. Where Mahadani Karna called her a prostitute, a noble woman who was wedded to five men as per vedic rituals was called a prostitute by Mahadani Karna. A pativratha was asked to sit on his thigh by gadhadhari duryodhan. The virtouos Pitamaha and great guru Drona stood silent when the women pleaded to them for mercy, pleaded to them to protect her honor, pleaded with them not to allow her disrobing. They were silent putting the stamp of disrobing a woman in public as the right thing. The woman refused to budge and called Krishna. Narayan came, came showing the dharma to the world that what happened to her was adharma. The woman demanded the blood of dussashan who touched her hair and dragged her. And Mahadani Karna, Virtous Pitamaha, great guru drona and gadhadhari Duryodhana were there to defend him. To get the justice the war had to be fought, the blood had to be shed. Because the criminal was protected by the system. To fight for dharma, to fight for justice was the knowledge Krishna gave to Arjuna in the form of Bhagavad Gita. The himsa of Kurushetra happened to establish justice.
And when did men became animals. When a 16 year old threatened the system. 7 people surrounded the teenager and killed him in the most brutal manner possible. If you speak the language of humans to such animals how will they understand, hence Pandavas were forced to speak their language.
Ahimsa is good as long as other person know you have the ability to do himsa. You have the ability to defend. If not you will be razed to ground. L There is no peace without war. Sometimes to get peace, war has to be fought. Else we should have allowed Kargil intrusion and stay quiet. We didnt right, we fought and ensured the intruders were killed or sent back. Or should the NSG Commandos have kept quiet when 10 armed men were firing at innocent citizens in Mumbai. Was Ahimsa applicable there. So the choice of himsa and ahimsa is based on where you stand. Sometimes to defend yourself, your family, your country himsa has to be done. To get justice himsa has to be done. Else let us give grand welcome to the rapists who raped and killed Nirbhaya instead of death sentence.
Anami has a long way to go to understand Mahabharatha in true sense. Sudha will enable her. Sudha breaks the eggs in the nest. nest had 3 eggs. I am not sure what those 3 eggs meant. Is it Baldev, Satrupa and Anami or Anami, Tanya, Adhiraj. Let me leave that open now. But the fact is what Sudha told. The bird keeps the eggs in the nest, when it rains, when it is clouded the bird is afraid and the children of bird will also be afraid. But the hawk, hawk is not afraid of the clouds, rains or thunder, it flies above it. So does she mean she has raised her son as Hawk. Maybe.
But what is important here is that Anami is the egg in that nest raised by Pandithayan. If she remains in nest Sudha will break it, to soar in the sky, to see like a hawk she needs Satrupa's wisdom. She cannot be the Abhimanyu of Chakravyuha, she has to be the Arjuna who is capable of breaking the Chakravyuha. Same goes for Adhiraj. He is also like a egg in the nest. Though better than Anami he is still emotional, connected to his mother. Right and wrong affects him. he doesnt want Anami to know he had taken her hair sample by stealth. He feels righteous people will feel bad if fraud happens to them. Because he is like that. He feels bad his father used the information he gave to get stakes on royal steel. He doesnt want a coward father, he doesnt want a scheming father also. He also wants something in between. But all said and done he will also need his father to soar in the sky and see the world through hawk's eye.
Sudha she needs to know hawk also has to come to earth once in a while, it also need a branch once in a while. But if she dont keep the tree that can give the branch then hawk will also die tired flying. You need both earth and sky. From earth sky looks different and from sky earth looks different. To know the truth you have to experience both the world. You have to fly as a bird is not born to be in the nest. But you need a nest so that new life can come on this earth.
Last but not least the hands, the choice was kept for LM people also when Vikram told his decision and indirectly asked LM people to abide by it. Who will chose Vikram's hand, who will leave Vikram's hand. Most important what will Vikram see as this man's head works more than his heart.
