well said..

I personally am thoroughly enjoying the journey of these two complex characters.. more importantly Rudra has won me over completely finally a character who has the courage to accept his past and irrespective of the pain he knew it would cause him as well as the women he has come to love not only did he reveal the truth but he explained the circumstances and instead of forcing her to react he is letting her come to terms with his painful past on her own.. there is a fear nibbling away at his mind and heart as he gradually observes the women who only recently looked at him with all the faith and love in the world to have to bow her eyes as to not reveal the turmoil within her..

I'm never expected Paro to accept this easily and her reaction was understandable she needs time to process everything after all the dream world she had created has in one blow shattered before her eyes.. but I have faith they will rebuild their bond and it will be far stronger because their foundation of their relationship will be trust.. she will comprehend at one point it takes courage to accept such a truth especially when you stand to lose everything positive in your life..

Rudra was fantastic his eyes portrayed his hope that she would understand she would accept him... along with pain at having to cause her turmoil.. his yearning she would look him in the eyes she would show him what was going on in her heart.. but then Paro was true to her character as well.. she may need time but she cares and still refuses to stand by and watch him in pain.. eagerly looking forward to how this this handled this was bound to happen I'm just glad Rudra was the one to portray his past..!!

Lovely Post Anu.
Rudra and Paro are eternal soulmates eventhough they are completely opposite to each other, they are indeed poles apart. Starting from their background, upbringing, way of thinking, way of loving, way of handling and expressing the love, every single thing is different from each other.

Rudra has always been very ruthless, his rustic nature and the tough exterior self makes him look so merciless and fearless for the people surrounding him. People who are very close to him, and who claims to love him, they all have a kind of mindset that Rudra pratap ranawat fears nobody, and he will never owe any mercy or any kind of emotional attachment to anybody. Thats what his outer image has been since he was that badtameez kid in his clasroom who had looked into his teacher's eyes and had recieved a lifetime spot on his forehead as a punishment. The spot which reminds him of all his agony, the bully, the mistreatement, the despairness, the isolation that had eaten up his childhood and converted him to the jallad he represents in the form of the major army officer.

Now, from where i see, Rudra as much as tough he is externally, similarly emotionally and by heart he is a very soft and vulnerable man, a man who could pardon a girl who constantly questioned his chastity as an army officer, his dedication and patriotism, his brutal honesty and fight for justice, yes he is the very same man, who infact is called an animal for mistreating his prime witness/suspect, but still there is a hero inside him, who probably kind of deserved the worship he got from the very same girl after she recognized the beauty and humanity of him, the purity of his soul and mind, the ability to dismiss any evil that harms the humanity, that was the hero whom Paro recognized in her course of love/hate relationship with her captor, she realized that how this very same jallad probably deserved a salute for saving her, stopping the brutal smmugling of poor women's lives going on since 17 years, and yes washing away all her inner demons, be it her parents death, or her first husband's death, or be it her bets friend's death.

The love story was going on in a fairy talish way, the princess misunderstands the beast, disses him and at the end realises that he is indeed the prince and moves onto worship him. But this prince was not a jallad for sure, but not even a reincartion of god who could be worshipped. The hero, who always painted himself to be very ugly from heart and dark, who deserved no love, respect and not even sympathy for the battered childhood, who needed a sexual affair for 8 long years so that the pain and helplessness in his life hides in those ugly nights behind the curtains of that bed, or the arms of that woman and the next morning he can again get up and walk like a human being, talk like a human being, face life like a fearless creature who had no emotions, neither love,. nor hatred, neither happiness, nor sadness. That was what Rudra was.

But as we say, if God takes so much from you, then he also blesses you like no other. Rudra was one of those rarest children of god, who got both the curse and the blessing. Blessing because finally and slowly, he had discovered someone, as beautiful and lethal which revived the fear inside him, as delicate and angelic which brought back the vulnerablity and the hidden desires of love and affection in him. As giving and sacrificial which made him so selfless and unconditional in his feelings that he does not even realize the extent of his reach for her. Thats what he has felt for Paro, nothing less than love, nothing more than worship but something that bridges the gap between love and worship.

After watching Friday's episode, my heart broke for him, not once but everytime i watched his scenes. He behaved like a human , he desired like a human then, and he even understood that how he has started to give someone so much from him that the doors of getting a reward is probably closed, but still he gave, he does not even know why, but he wanted to give Paro, his honesty, his 15 years, his ugliness, only with a mini hope that may be she will be the one who will go against all odds, and still help him to get rid off that brutality, that ugly world which he had lived through. How much it hurts when you are constantly loved and worshipped by someone, indeed the woman , the only woman you feel like dying for, and then a storm comes, you yourself bring it so that you do not cause her injustice but in the process fall from her eyes, lose the respect she probably had for you, suddenly the worship in her eyes comes off as bloody poisonous tears that tears off Rudra's heart, the love from her words just come off as feeling of betrayal in the form of her silence, her showing back to him comes off as the whole world once again getting transformed into the ugliness and brutality he had lived thru.

Rudra has always been very selfdestructive, sometimes in his subconsicious mind, he gives someone so much that always ends up at breaking his heart, and this time, his love has proven to be so much selfdestructive and at the very time so much honest and pure. Yes he is guilty of the work not because he regrets the life with laila, but because he is caus eof Paro's tears, his heart breaks not because he could not give paro the god she wanted but because he just ensured her that it was very wrong to treat him as a god.

Anu, i know i have written so much about Rudra, and i can even write some more paras, but i am extremely feeling hurt and sorry for him, had always felt like that, the day when he was giving paro and idea about nandini forced into prostitution and paro cursing him to be all alone in life, the day when he sees his mom's photograph with tejawat and shatters, and now again the day he has seen his angel crying, and just losing the confidence in him, that made him so helpless, despair and blank.

Of course he needs to realize and admit his feelings but will be even more difficult for him now...Will be so interesting to watch how Paro's silence and pain affects Rudra and what it makes him do...am probably in the minority but I felt Rudra's pain more than Paro's...

Yes, my heart breaks for him for the exact same reason...for a person to be made to feel that they are not worthy of love...that is what a little child's heart started to believe when his mother left him...because he was a bad/naughty kid...and now as he's grown older and still considers himself to be a man not good enough to be loved...incidents like these just reinforce his belief that he is too horrible and damaged a human being to be LOVED...and that is why Paro has to give him that faith that she will accept him...scars and all.

GOSH Anu- thats such a FAB post 👏 Just loved the points in bold- which is almost the whole of your post!
I was just watching the episode again (while I shld have been working) and along with that I watched the whole of last weeks episodes as well! Now even the cuteness overload seems to fit in retrospect! Rudra Dev's cynicism and weariness had taken a total backseat wrt to Paro and he had started to see her as a white/pure soul, especially after the laddoo track- finally had strated to respect the love she shows so openly for him and had sort of started accepting it without his usual cynicism and distrust! He was showing his inner unsoiled soul to her in the past few days!

Seriously- it has also been a brave thing to show the hero so SCARED- the scenes where laila taunts him that he has not told Paro about them- the FEAR in his eyes!! I have not seen a situation in my limited viewing of soaps so far where the HERO has been so conflicted and fearful about opening of sordid details of his past! There is NOW that ONE person whose opinion REALLY matters to him- That itself would have been scary thing for him and he could have in his usual way tried to gruffly shrug it away- BUT he chose NOT TO as he would not have been able to live with himself then!! And now the the worst seems to be happening in front of his eyes!

And Paro *sigh*- she's not the kinds to throw things, take out her hurt, her pain physically or verbally! Rudra would be so glad to see a collar pakadne waali Paro right now- rather than this withdrawn one! Also she is no match for Laila's shenanigans in her vulnerable state especially now that shes not letting Rudra also to come near her! I wish Dilsher comes into the picture and senses that something is very wrong here! Would he not have any inkling about the 'amourous' details of Rudr Dev's past 8 yrs?? He lived with him all along- otr maybe he was too drunk? But he has given Laila some suspicious looks as well?

Anyways- I am very sad - but also very glad that the emotions have made a come back in RR- the raw ingredient that shapes it is back!! Bas if they focus even 70 % on this and the rest 30 % on the slapstick of dramaic twists and turns provided by laila and mohini combo- I'll be a happy camper!

Chalo- adios- jeg skal sove nu (i'll sleep now) 😊 kal miltein hain!

Thanks, Shalini!

I totally agree with your point about them being gutsy in showing a hero's FEARS so starkly...yes that moment when Laila hits a nerve and makes him realize he does indeed fear Paro's reaction to the truth...

Yes, RR has returned to form with some very RAW emotional scenes this past week...it's been uncomfortable and a bit depressing to watch but after a while you start to see what was needed for the story...I'm hoping this all is evolved well in the coming weeks and the story reaches it's potential.

I also would like to see Dilsher come back into the picture...this is a crucial time where both R and P need a sounding board and Dilsher would be right for this...

Lovely post, it somehow made me see things differently, I never had anything against Rudra, first this was part of his past, and secondly because he never promised Paro anything, he told her that he is unable of anything and if she keeps sticking to him she will get burnt, she was the one who believed in this relationship and wanted it to work and was ready to bear anything as she thinks she knows him very well, so far she has been understanding to each part of his past (the parts she knew about) now this is a new part, so I personally expect her to be as much understanding as before because this is the only way she can prove her love is true

What your post made me see is that actually Paro is very innocent, the way she was brought up and even her inner nature is that of a woman who trusts, who loves, who is full of good intentions, actually to be honest I was irritated with Paro lately and even thought of her as being stupid because I couldn't understand how could she let Laila under the same roof knowing that the latter is in love with her husband, let's suppose that she forgave her for trying to kill her in the first time and that she gave her the benefit of doubt of not trying it again etc, but the mere fact that Laila is in love with Rudra should have awakened her woman's instincts, so this was my bone of contention about Paro, now I still wonder is this woman so innocent, so forgiving, trusting even a woman who loves her husband!!! I mean even being brought up in a village you would still have possessiveness and doubts when it comes to the man whom you love most even if you trust him

Now coming to what happened, I mean Paro knowing the truth about Rudra, I can understand that it's not an easy thing for her to know that the man of her life had another woman in his life for 8years, maybe as you also said she is yet to understand that he is a flawed man and not as perfect as she might have imagined him to be but I still expect her to understand this and not disappoint him afterall she was the one who declared unconditional love and was ready to stand by his side and accept all his flaws when he himself told her not to, so for me this is the biggest test of love for Paro, I'm not taking Rudra's side, I just know that Rudra is insecure already and has the burden of his past that he couldn't get rid of yet so another disappointment will destroy him

I know Laila will try her best to confuse Paro and make her give up on Rudra, she can use many tricks, the 8years of her life she gave to Rudra, the fact that she is the one who has more rights on Rudra since they had a relationship that from Paro's eyes only married people should have, so she might think that Laila has more rights than her over Rudra, also that since Rudra could stick to Laila for 8years maybe he has feelings for her - she can doubt that-even if Rudra himself told her he never loved Laila, but since Laila is getting all touchy with Rudra she can confuse Paro, also I couldn't understand why Rudra didn't push Laila right away when she hugged him or was it that he was so confused thinking about what Paro is thinking, that he didn't react to Laila

The last point which will add to the complexities of this situation is the fact that Paro herself promised to leave Rudra in return of his life, that itself is somthing that would have shattered him anyways

So yes I agree that this is a very complicated situation and it should be handled with a lot of care, just like you I would also like to see how Rudra and Paro would react spontaneously away from Laila's schemes, I mean with only the fact that he told Paro the truth and how they will move on from there

@AreYaar What a brilliantly written viewpoint!
You are so right about Rudra.
Laila may crawl all over him right now, he is not affected by it. He has his gaze fixed on Paro and her reaction to his baring of his soul to her.

Paro cannot be expected to grasp all that has transpired in one snap, and this is the reason that Laila is trying her best to cash in on the situation.

Paro and Rudra you have written so beautifully
So I will add about laila
Every body deals with issues differently , some reform , some revolt
laila she is lonely , damaged and a go getter
She is not scared to dirty her hands in the process
As independent as laila might seem her life is centred around this one guy , who she thought she could follow , who she thought was as lonely that she can move into his space whenever she wants
Thought she has a place in his mind
Thought his nature was what he was
Suddenly.one day she sees a new emotion in him , something she thought he is incapable of , but end of the day it's him , who is so used to being alone and who is so dark that any other girl with a dream like expectation from her husband can never stand him for long
She will eventually give up , she can fasten it by being there herself
By putting it front of his wife, his old self

Laila's main problem is that she was ready to serve Rudra but with a CONDITION that he does not ever allow another woman in his life. She never desired for the right in his life, unless she saw him doing unbelievable stuffs for the girl whom he pretended to hate on and hid his concerns, protection for her under the mask of being her captor.
It was laila who had caught him in his act, since then, she took a complete 360 degree turn i guess.

yes, in a way it is good that she is back in his life, atleast her antics have given his thought process a push, he is thinking about paro as deserving to know about his past, enough to reveal that what place paro holds in his life. Moreover, this time laila has dug her own grave too, obviously she wont get the jallad Rudra back, and even if she gets, she thinks its easy to get into in his life ? NO.

True megha
Laila entered into the relationship with the assumption , this the maximum any body could get close to him
She believed him when he said he doesn't agree with the institution if marriage
For 8 years she was able to follow him , keep hI'm close ,
Now what is her barrier , paro
If you see her dialogues she has completely underestimated paro her confidence is more from she will be able to deal with paro or make her leave rather than make rusra fall in love
Which makes it a one to one between paro and laila
And as anu pointed out indirectly laila is making it a test of acceptance and knowing her husband for paro
It is a different question , should paro give the test at all does her husband deserve that, I am not going there
So let's see
