Paro will have to see if she can look at Rudra as a human being now, flaws and all, and still love him.
A test of love. I am sure they will pass... ❤️

Thank you...and I completely agree with the bolded bit.

I personally am thoroughly enjoying the journey of these two complex characters.. more importantly Rudra has won me over completely finally a character who has the courage to accept his past and irrespective of the pain he knew it would cause him as well as the women he has come to love not only did he reveal the truth but he explained the circumstances and instead of forcing her to react he is letting her come to terms with his painful past on her own.. there is a fear nibbling away at his mind and heart as he gradually observes the women who only recently looked at him with all the faith and love in the world to have to bow her eyes as to not reveal the turmoil within her..

I'm never expected Paro to accept this easily and her reaction was understandable she needs time to process everything after all the dream world she had created has in one blow shattered before her eyes.. but I have faith they will rebuild their bond and it will be far stronger because their foundation of their relationship will be trust.. she will comprehend at one point it takes courage to accept such a truth especially when you stand to lose everything positive in your life..

Rudra was fantastic his eyes portrayed his hope that she would understand she would accept him... along with pain at having to cause her turmoil.. his yearning she would look him in the eyes she would show him what was going on in her heart.. but then Paro was true to her character as well.. she may need time but she cares and still refuses to stand by and watch him in pain.. eagerly looking forward to how this this handled this was bound to happen I'm just glad Rudra was the one to portray his past..!!

Thanks! And a lovely post from you here as well👏...especially the bolded bits...very well said...a fall from grace is hard and it takes courage to set yourself up for it without laying the blame anywhere but on your own shoulders...taking ownership for everything that happened in your past and not painting yourself a victim...that is where Rudra has earned my admiration too.

Rudra and Paro are eternal soulmates eventhough they are completely opposite to each other, they are indeed poles apart. Starting from their background, upbringing, way of thinking, way of loving, way of handling and expressing the love, every single thing is different from each other.

Rudra has always been very ruthless, his rustic nature and the tough exterior self makes him look so merciless and fearless for the people surrounding him. People who are very close to him, and who claims to love him, they all have a kind of mindset that Rudra pratap ranawat fears nobody, and he will never owe any mercy or any kind of emotional attachment to anybody. Thats what his outer image has been since he was that badtameez kid in his clasroom who had looked into his teacher's eyes and had recieved a lifetime spot on his forehead as a punishment. The spot which reminds him of all his agony, the bully, the mistreatement, the despairness, the isolation that had eaten up his childhood and converted him to the jallad he represents in the form of the major army officer.

Now, from where i see, Rudra as much as tough he is externally, similarly emotionally and by heart he is a very soft and vulnerable man, a man who could pardon a girl who constantly questioned his chastity as an army officer, his dedication and patriotism, his brutal honesty and fight for justice, yes he is the very same man, who infact is called an animal for mistreating his prime witness/suspect, but still there is a hero inside him, who probably kind of deserved the worship he got from the very same girl after she recognized the beauty and humanity of him, the purity of his soul and mind, the ability to dismiss any evil that harms the humanity, that was the hero whom Paro recognized in her course of love/hate relationship with her captor, she realized that how this very same jallad probably deserved a salute for saving her, stopping the brutal smmugling of poor women's lives going on since 17 years, and yes washing away all her inner demons, be it her parents death, or her first husband's death, or be it her bets friend's death.

The love story was going on in a fairy talish way, the princess misunderstands the beast, disses him and at the end realises that he is indeed the prince and moves onto worship him. But this prince was not a jallad for sure, but not even a reincartion of god who could be worshipped. The hero, who always painted himself to be very ugly from heart and dark, who deserved no love, respect and not even sympathy for the battered childhood, who needed a sexual affair for 8 long years so that the pain and helplessness in his life hides in those ugly nights behind the curtains of that bed, or the arms of that woman and the next morning he can again get up and walk like a human being, talk like a human being, face life like a fearless creature who had no emotions, neither love,. nor hatred, neither happiness, nor sadness. That was what Rudra was.

But as we say, if God takes so much from you, then he also blesses you like no other. Rudra was one of those rarest children of god, who got both the curse and the blessing. Blessing because finally and slowly, he had discovered someone, as beautiful and lethal which revived the fear inside him, as delicate and angelic which brought back the vulnerablity and the hidden desires of love and affection in him. As giving and sacrificial which made him so selfless and unconditional in his feelings that he does not even realize the extent of his reach for her. Thats what he has felt for Paro, nothing less than love, nothing more than worship but something that bridges the gap between love and worship.

After watching Friday's episode, my heart broke for him, not once but everytime i watched his scenes. He behaved like a human , he desired like a human then, and he even understood that how he has started to give someone so much from him that the doors of getting a reward is probably closed, but still he gave, he does not even know why, but he wanted to give Paro, his honesty, his 15 years, his ugliness, only with a mini hope that may be she will be the one who will go against all odds, and still help him to get rid off that brutality, that ugly world which he had lived through. How much it hurts when you are constantly loved and worshipped by someone, indeed the woman , the only woman you feel like dying for, and then a storm comes, you yourself bring it so that you do not cause her injustice but in the process fall from her eyes, lose the respect she probably had for you, suddenly the worship in her eyes comes off as bloody poisonous tears that tears off Rudra's heart, the love from her words just come off as feeling of betrayal in the form of her silence, her showing back to him comes off as the whole world once again getting transformed into the ugliness and brutality he had lived thru.

Rudra has always been very selfdestructive, sometimes in his subconsicious mind, he gives someone so much that always ends up at breaking his heart, and this time, his love has proven to be so much selfdestructive and at the very time so much honest and pure. Yes he is guilty of the work not because he regrets the life with laila, but because he is cause of Paro's tears, his heart breaks not because he could not give paro the god she wanted but because he just ensured her that it was very wrong to treat him as a god.

Anu, i know i have written so much about Rudra, and i can even write some more paras, but i am extremely feeling hurt and sorry for him, had always felt like that, the day when he was giving paro and idea about nandini forced into prostitution and paro cursing him to be all alone in life, the day when he sees his mom's photograph with tejawat and shatters, and now again the day he has seen his angel crying, and just losing the confidence in him, that made him so helpless, despair and blank.

Such a lovely post, Megha👏👏👏 An absolute pleasure to read it! Loved your detailed analysis on Rudra as a personality, his demons...my fav. though has to be your description of his love for Paro...the bridge b/w love and worship...so beautifully said.

You are so right about Rudra.
Laila may crawl all over him right now, he is not affected by it. He has his gaze fixed on Paro and her reaction to his baring of his soul to her.

Paro cannot be expected to grasp all that has transpired in one snap, and this is the reason that Laila is trying her best to cash in on the situation.

Thank you so much :-) Yes, Rudra is not affected by Laila's antics...all of his attention is consumed by Paro and needing a reaction from her over him having revealed the darkest part of his soul to her...Paro ofcourse being the innocent she is will need time to grasp/process this...and Laila will ofcourse mess with her...so time will tell how they overcome this.

Now what is her barrier , paro
If you see her dialogues she has completely underestimated paro her confidence is more from she will be able to deal with paro or make her leave rather than make rusra fall in love
Which makes it a one to one between paro and laila
And as anu pointed out indirectly laila is making it a test of acceptance and knowing her husband for paro
It is a different question , should paro give the test at all does her husband deserve that, I am not going there
So let's see

Why not? Let's rewind back to Paro's Teri Deewani speech...a speech filled with so much conviction ...and one statement that she repeated time and again...that she is meant to always be with Rudra only...that Parvati humesha se Rudra ki hi thi...she projected a sort of enlightenment inside her as if she was finally made aware of the greatest truth ever...that she can never be seperated from Rudra...that they are meant to be...these are all proclamations made by Paro herself...she has been the one constantly asking him to accept her...he never asked her to pass any tests to prove herself...even now he's not asking her to pass any tests...it is Paro who has made great claims about her unconditional love for Rudra so it is inevitable that this will be viewed as a test of those very claims she's made...

Because MAKING claims is the EASY part...sticking to those claims, those convictions when faced with stormy weather is the challenging part...

hmm i didnt want to go there because the answer , a lot depends upon who is answering it ( whether paro or rudra the answer will be extremely different )
how i see it laila will try and prove to paro that her husband is in a relationship with laila , like i have been saying paro doesnt know rudra , she jumped to answers before knowing the question , so if she falls for this and of course her prayer , i wont blame her
because it is a fact that the relationship is based on something very surreal , it is not that deep as paro assumed it to be
if she rises above it , i will cheer for her

i will elaborate
lets look at this from both rudra and paro's POV
rudra's POV : it is a relationship that is his clearly his past , and he confessed about it to paro himself , didnt even let the truth come out in any other way ... so clean
paro's POV: laila is has been a part of rudra's live for 8 yrs and he has not connected to her at any level it can be interpreted in long term as he is not capable of love like he told her

But your point was about whether Paro should pass any test for her husband...and that is why I said why not...because she is the one who claimed great love to begin with when time and again Rudra said she does not know him...Yes, NOW Paro is feeling she may not know him like she did...now she is having doubts...and her being able to overcome those doubts and renew her faith is the test she is facing...and it is a test that was inevitable...of her own making since she CHOSE this man as her husband.

Rudra has categorically told Paro that everything ended b/w him and Laila the day he left Jaipur and she was the one who followed him here...so it is now up to Paro to believe him or to believe Laila...it is up to Paro to understand what it means for Rudra to have told her this of his own admission rather than lying about it or sugarcoating it.

This relationship is surreal maybe from Paro's end since she submitted to it due to her divine revelations etc...but from Rudra's end it was always raw, intense and protective...it is up to Paro to reconcile to these parts of him if she still wants to believe that they are indeed meant to be...your beliefs can be shaken for a bit...but if they are totally shattered, then your whole life becomes a lie...I would like to see some insights into Paro's thought process...is she just disappointed in Rudra or has she lost total faith in all her divine beliefs about them being meant to be.

AY, nice post.
again the story is at a good stage where potential can be extracted by using characters n their emotions.

Paro: this is a test of her faith. Her toffee khilaungi, dhamkaungi, will release him from darkness claims come to the foreground. Her first tryst with the darkness inside him.. There were many threads in the big reveal for Paro the character to be explored.
1)He has had a past friends for benefits association with a woman, which is too much to take for Paro ,very rightly.
2)She came face-to-face with his heartless state for the first time, she had called him a jallad but never really believed him to be devoid of emotions.
3)of course big picture is his fall from pedestal.
4)He has defied her simple idyllic funda n separated love n need. And then she must be thinking as to what is love for him, so on n so -forth. basically a stark contrast to her pristine principles, beliefs, etc.

Rudra: This should ideally set the ball rolling for him in terms of introspection- why, what and how much Paro means to him. He knows he cares for her, the cynic in him gets swayed when hit by her pristine love.. but he hasn't really delved deeper into the emotions she evokes in him n address them.

Laila: Despite all her flimsy vampishness characterization, I still expect the writers to give a mature closure for laila-rudra liaison. If for rudra, it was about his survival instincts to forge a benaam rishta with her, similarly for laila also, there must have been a reason to get into it n be satisfied with whatever little he gave her.. no complaints, no demands..

which is broken by this revelation , not cos rudra is wrong , but her faith that he is her shiv has been proved wrong
Rudra said she does not know him...Yes, NOW Paro is feeling she may not know him like she did...now she is having doubts...and her being able to overcome those doubts and renew her faith is the test she is facing...and it is a test that was inevitable...of her own making since she CHOSE this man as her husband.
agreed , but again reason were wrong and not deep , she didnt know the man to choose him

Rudra has categorically told Paro that everything ended b/w him and Laila the day he left Jaipur and she was the one who followed him here...so it is now up to Paro to believe him or to believe Laila...it is up to Paro to understand what it means for Rudra to have told her this of his own admission rather than lying about it or sugarcoating it.
he also told her that she doesnt know him , she didnt buy it , she uses her reasoning , that i dont find bad , just at times her reasoning is way above me

okay here i disagree , i dont think rudra knows paro as well , yes it can be said that he never clained ti love her , therefore he never made a attempt
i think his one issues is fear of abandonment , that is from his complex that he feels he is not a good person, that people will leave him , he considered himself responsible for his mother leaving him all through his childhood...partially he is right , his love couldnt stop her
(because he still doesnt know the reason )
paro in her delusion always made the god comparison ,she treated him like he is some god , her excessive care is something that the guy is comforted or overwhelmed (in a nice way ) with paro's gestures and constant comparison and god like status

so to answer in one word are they in love - no can this lead to love yes
my responses inred
so to answer your question , should paro give the test , depends upon paro now , not her previous claims , because it was her delusion , not valid now

@ttt1: I'm sorry I don't understand your reasoning...you are absolving Paro from all ownership of her mistakes simply cuz her beliefs were proven wrong? No it's not as simple as that...she may have been misguided but that does not in any way nullify all the claims she DID make...that slate does not get to be wiped clean simply cuz she's reeling from a blow to her beliefs...

I don't think they are going to so dynamically change Paro's characterization...her belief system is at the core of her characterization...and this turn of events is a test of her beliefs...of a possibly MATURITY developing in her beliefs.
