In terms of some people saying that the show may be axed because of lower rating, I doubt this for many reasons.

But mainly because It's doing well internationally eg. very well in the UK. Also, it has received nothing but praise from various websites and international viewers (I'm talking about the show as a whole and not the tracks etc..)

International acceptance is usually what money makers are looking for and I'm fully aware that Trp's are not high but the show has received nothing but positive reviews and thus they won't pull the plug so easily.

It's a similar love for a show and a certain female character that made me waste a lot of time making petitions and post. Precious time that I could have spent with the person I lost.

Today I realize shows are just a business for the makers, a business that unfortunately uses our emotions. The same Gul Khan has gone ahead and taking a leap in another show despite threats protests and bashing. Same is the case of this PH who have taken a leap in their long running show.

Moral of the story is, where there is a will there is a way. When the makers decide they want to stretch or continue or improve, they do.

Since this is a business the makers need to take care of the TRPs. All efforts and advise will go unheard, unless their business sense does not tell them what to do.

So, though uncalled for, I would suggest leave it to the PH and don't worry about the TRPs. f you have a happy family who are healthy and beside you, nothing is more precious and happier than that.

If Saurabh Tiwari can respect women, the same women who watch his show, he will work on the script and give some respect to Paro and some story.

Let the astute businessmen figure out this grave error they are making in dealing with a female character.

My only concern is Sanaya. I had a lot of expectations from this role for her. It was my wish to see her win awards. But Paro is one of the characters, who has not been given the depth I wished to see.

But Sanaya is a great actress. Someday she will survive one more show which is misusing her talent.

Adieu because it is not likely that I will comment much in IF.

Because it took a very harsh reality to tell me, that there is so much to worry and about in life

Take care

I'm sorry for your loss. I dont want to debate anything else you have said as it is easier to point fingers at others, something even I can start doing. But you seem to have lost a loved one. So this is not the time for that.

I hope you find the strength and courage to overcome the tough times.

SP and Colors are two very different channels.

As of yet, the Trp's are not that low but we are worried because it deserves higher trps.

We just got to be patient and let the cv's handle this one :)

yeah 1 year contract seems worrisome , but i still feel unless they do something drastically bad , seeing the UK US popularity the show might not go off air

I am not what you will call a trp garner... I am also an international viewer who catches it on internet!!!! BUT- I doubt if anybody really know how the TRP audience reacts and what they want... Its all a matter of speculation!
The other ST show which was equally dominated by the male lead had rocking TRPs until they tried to make the female lead a classic example of know it all... So I don't think we can broadly say that just because it is male oriented, it is failing...

One thing that I would like to point out is that RR never had a great TRPs... So the real issue is that TRP never picked up!!!! So like Sush pointed out earlier, it is more of a marketing failure.. I think it could never bring more share of viewers to the show... The loyal audience sticked to it which is good. So we cannot say that it is the story or any character that is the problem... if that was the case, the viewers would have switched...

I do agree that paro fails to strike a cord with the female audience... One week she was hating him and the next week she is so much in love that she wants him to marry her... One friend who missed the show for couple weeks came back later and asked- "what the heck? when did this happen? what changed?" The fact that she found out Rudra was not her enemy was not enough to convince my friend that she should be demanding marriage from Rudra!!! The way paro reacted to the hate marriage was equally bad! Forgive me for comparing, but in the other ST show when the TRPs climbed post marriage (a similar hatke hate marriage) the female lead was much more spunky and showed a backbone but changed to a doormat type later and that's when the TRPs failed... Like Jyoti06 always mentions in her posts, the equal tug of war between the leads is what catches the attention of a neutral viewer mostly... They want both the leads to be equally strong...

And personally I do not find Rudra's presence overbearing at all... This is my first show with Ashish Sharma! And I am totally loving him!!!! He is doing great justice to the character and at present it is his character that makes the story endearing!!!!! I do agree that they overplayed his breakdowns a bit and even I was hoping/praying that they will not show him crying again!!!!

Bottom line- I don't I think one character/actor brings TRPs... It is the overall package that attracts people... I think they need to air more attractive promos (not the kind that would attract 100K HITS on IF but not move anything in the real world) and bring more viewers in and then make story more interesting to keep them hooked!!!

see buddy , i think the thing is any show is an combined effort of 3 stakeholders , creative team , makers , channel
each of these guys have different projects going on , so it is simply that like us viewers they will give attention to the one they believe have maximum potential to make them money
here in this business because 3 people are involved , they want each other's attention to their project
this is where trp comes in , i think it is just like a thumb rule to measure viewership thats all
but the issue is with this trp buzz makers and creative team if they loss trust then it is worrisome because as i said they also have other projects , so there is a risk of sidelining a potential blockbuster due to this trp jazz
otherwise i think it is overrated
9 to 10 is a very good slot , KBC , big boss or any big show always airs at this time , cos you get some definite one time viewers ,who tune in to check the show , because that time in a vaerage indian house the tv is on , considering the slot and this is a new show i think the trps are low , but not low enough to take the show off air
i agree with the 1yr contract issue

good Take on the TRP.I have a different view.I tend to compare RR with BI.I have to say it.My family watches BI and switches off when RR starts airing.
their take is almost the same as yours.
RR is a story that is more historical borderline ancient.most ladies in my family cannot relate to Paro. who just cries and acts all submissive.where as in BI the FL is so strong almost as strong and the ML and stands up to him,at times more brainier than the ML.they are able to relate to Aaliya. She was there in the investigation of someone along with her husband.stood side by side with him.helped his family.rose above the conventional bahu by locking horns with her Mother-in-law in a nice respectful way.and she even dresses in a modern way.everything is relatable. If you look at their TRP,it is steadily increasing.Their female character sketching is done with modern woman in mind.

I have said this before,Paro being an innocent babe is not done at all.even my fisher woman is smarter than she is.There is no way anyone in 2014 can relate to Paro.
Yes the wedding was a nightmare.she did say just one word, aise nahin.
most people will suicide than get married against their will.

Even my husband who watches with me occasionally, when he has nothing better to do in life, says what is this girl doing?she is always crying.can't she say something or do something, rather than taking this crap?I thought he will be happy with male domination, but it isn't so.see even my man cannot stand this kind of abuse or romance or conshumshun.whatever we want to call this thing that they are showing.see only when you can relate to the character will you actually enjoy the show.

Paro is very inconsistent, sleeps on the floor.makes tea for her hubby, looks in the eye.and cries and faints at the drop of a hat.can you tell me whether she has done anything else??at all?or am I missing something?everyone said she is strong.I haven't seen it yet.she is strong in front of everyone else, but her husband.Takes all the crap thrown at her face and the eye sax or whatever and she is happy.she says one dialogue every four episodes.and cries the rest of the time.
I cannot even understand how she fell in love with him in the first place.I felt that the makers are actually hurrying everything.it is that they have an year to finish this serial since the TRP is not working so they are going in an express speed.Even Mohini has more screen space than Paro. Mohini's character is clearer than Paro. Mohini's thoughts are more important than Paro's.
To cover up the inconsistent character sketching, they dress her up nicely and give her the best ornaments and still her face is sada dhukhi.
For me Rudra has always been the focal point of the show, drooling or whatever you call that. But even he has lost his charm. He married her and clearly told her he is going to abuse her to the core and then sings songs and then makes her cry again.
even if years goes by, a man like Rudra will always be abusive.no matter how much he will fall in love with his wife.he will be abusive, any small mistake from her part,he will throw her out in the rain.and will not move a moustache hair.I come to this forum more than I watch the serial.I read LUs more than watching the episode. The FFs,OS,TS is more interesting than the actual episode.
Feel free to agree or disagree.
and NB Thank you very much for letting me vent away.I hope I haven't hurt your feelings in any way.

Lets look at your opinion and start...the importance of FL...ok agreed...whats the problem...we have a FL..is she getting enough screen space?? Yes. Is she there in almost all scenes...absolutely. If we look at it, she gets more screen space and time than the ML...yes, that's true.
The problem here is (and plz its just an opinion) is the character strong enough?? Do we identify we with her, do we understand her, does she speak to us, does she makes sense to us, is she one of us, like us, if not, does she inspire us, make us want to be like her...the answer to all these questions is a big solid...NO.
Lets look at TRP garnering audiences, they are the housewives, stay at home moms, educated working women, school and college going girls and rarely the intellectuals...these are the female slots that watch...all fall under these categories...and does Paro connect with any of these groups...you will get your answer.
SImple Logic..if you want a female oriented show...make the female character..strong. Give her the power to make the audience laugh with her, cry with her, make them feel that her problems are their own, the female lead has to engage and involve all females ...that's where the success lies...
Ok...now lets look at love stories then...coz it is a love story...and a love story needs two very strong characters...a Khushi needs an ASR, ...a Jodha needs an Akbar, (don't watch many shows, but u can substitute any names here, the message remains the same). Rudra ..is he strong..yes. Is he engaging...yes. Multi layered, fascinating...again yes. Now lets take Paro...and ask the same questions...and consider the answers.
Paro here is too insipid, too watered down and too unreal a character to make connect in any form, be it a social melodrama or love story. Are you, me like her??? Are people around us like her?? Are your mom, my mom, aunts, cousins, colleagues, neighbours..any woman around you even remotely like her...Nope. Do u or they want to be like her?? Does she entertain, does she inspire?? Then how in the world can the people connect..Is this a fairy tale?? A period or costume drama...nope. Left to her devices, all we will see is smelling salts, frowns, tears and butterflies...period. Forget educated women of today, pick an uneducated girl working at your place, will she connect with Paro?? (They are more practical than u and me, their hand to mouth situation makes them more logical and tougher than we give them credit for). You have your answer.
Coming to practicalities...RR faces really tough opposition at that time slot. Some good shows are providing tough competition it has to contend with. And to top it all, it seems to be working on zero promos...its been a week I think since a new promo was aired. While I see promos of shows new and old all the time on the channel. Plus it has a kind of rural backdrop and not all are interested.
Frankly, me and most of the people I know, enjoy Rudra. Overbearing nd causing head aches as u call him...well at least he has an impact. At least he leaves a mark, he is noticed. If u take away Rudra from this show...we have no power, no punch, no intensity and passion, no flaws, no negativity or postitivity, no human logic, or common man connect. Will Paro alone, her character, pull this show??
And one last argument ...Devo ke Dev Mahadev, one of the leading shows, has had three FL changes, the show flourishes. Saubhagyawati Bhav...horrible, abusive show...worked wonders...reason a very strong anti hero male character (and only he is remembered). Mahabharat ...going great even before the FL was introduced. A strong, eye catching, attendion gripping, character is all it takes...male or female sometimes is immaterial.
