Eveline playing your own point back at you- if the male lead is as engaging as some are claiming- then why are the TRPs not increasing?

Im sorry but I have come to the point where I dont empathise with Rudra's pain anymore. Ashish is a fabulous actor, and Im not mixing up his acting with Rudra's charactersisation. I hope thats clear.

The reason the show will fall flat if Rudra is taken out of the mix is simply because the other other characters are weak. But having said that, the TRPs did hold up well whenever ashish has been on his breaks. So yeah.

So far they have focussed too much on Rudra, did it bear any fruits? NO

So whats the harm in giving other characters the much needed focus?

I dont know about others but honestly I'm now even indifferent to Rudra. Some of his scenes recently have been very mediocre (except for marriage one). because there are way too many of them.

A strong, eye catching, attendion gripping, character is all it takes...male or female sometimes is immaterial.

Sorry just bolding this part, because it proves my earlier post. If what you said is indeed the case then Rudra's character alone should have grabbed good ratings. It didnt.

Because it is an incredibly boring show?
Also, as Ekta Kapoor said, there is no star in Television. So no popular face can bring any TRP, unless the content clicks. We strangely overrate Tv star's so-called ability to fetch TRPs.

If I remember right, in the initial days it was all about Paro...totally Paro...the trp's were still the same. They were not high then too. So Paro was not a trp garner either.
And the trps rose then after, coz Rudra's presence brought a tug of war. The marriage fell totally flat ...cause...according to a male friend of mine...Paro ko toh yahi chahiye tha...she got her wish by hook or crook...now wheres the fun???

NB>..this is a vicious circle, if we are playing the blame game here. If Rudra doesn't bring TRPS, neither does the female lead Paro. But yes, Rudra is the stronger, more interesting, attention grabbing character here...and for me and plenty more, he is the reason the show is held together. Paro does not hold the show, or the viewers. And its a love story for god's sake...how can the hero be redundant?? He is as much a part of this as the female is...this is about what connects..right??

Hi, are you watching the show?

Yes I'm with Ekta. Content is King. Actors dont make or break a show. the whole aura of stardom works on the big screen because magic can happen for 2-3 hours. You cant sustain a show just on the basis of stardom for years and years together.

i dont find the show boring, but highly inconsistent and lop-sided especially in the last month. there are some really good actors in the show, but most under-utilized.

I think the issue is the tough time slot!! There are other long-running shows still doing well right now!! Bad for RR !! But if RR stays on air then we too might get good ratings eventually!! Maybe people are waiting for the big events like finding other Birpur girls and Paro getting justice against Tejawat!! It will take time!! There is also election time, right?!! 😕 And cricket?!! 😕

More than anything, what doesn't work for me is the fact that its a tad too overbearing and emotionally draining. Now I don't know about others but I'd rather watch something light and upbeat at the end of a tediously tiring day than a show that calls for even more of my mental energy.

This doesn't mean creatives need to deviate from their original sketch and make the show fun and funny all of a sudden. There would always be a niche audience who appreciate the creative brilliance of a show like this. But it would be futile to expect the mass saas-bahu-cat-fight worshiping audience to swallow a show of this caliber.

And of course as your original post said, if the story was told more from the female perspective, it would have provided more ground for trp audience to connect with the story.
