hola NB
i've sent the link of this thread to saurabh tiwari - it will definitely increase TRP of this thread, if not the show :))

i share your concerns, and i had voiced it with my RR missing woman's perspective thread. Of course, everyone misunderstood that I mean RR creative needs a female writer, not my point at all.

anyway, i watch for masala and romance. Paro's character is neither rural nor urban, neither firebrand nor docile. She is an average of all feelings and averages don't do well in daily soaps. you need extremes to stand out from the crowd.

I am also beginning to ask if Sanaya should do more character study of Paro. She must feel what we are feeling, right? If she is not asking her director the same questions we are, then all I can say is she might be taking her popularity for granted. When you work in the midst of strong performances, you have to be very protective, very diligent and very alert about the impact your character has on screen. This is of course the most unpopular conclusion, but I can't help feel it that at times, Sanaya takes Paro's role for granted

Paro does not hold the show, or the viewers.

Rudra gives me a headache, Paro is incosistent- to me.

So one's emphasis can be reduced and the others increased. No harm in doing that, is there?

Im sorry i dont ever recollect paro's character getting the focus, ever. Unless I have been watching another show.

Yes I'm with Ekta. Content is King. Actors dont make or break a show. the whole aura of stardom works on the big screen because magic can happen for 2-3 hours. You cant sustain a show just on the basis of stardom for years and years together.

i dont find the show boring, but highly inconsistent and lop-sided especially in the last month. there are some really good actors in the show, but most under-utilized.

I have watched a few episodes, yes. Say for about a month, and I am sure it's my problem, but I speak for my family as well. The show is the garden-variety Nautanki PH show with weak female lead, and annoying male lead. Which started off as interesting, has become this bland mess. My opinion entirely. I am sure there are people who love the show. Just not my thing.

Hey I totally agree with you..!
RR is definitely one of the best show...but as you said ...its story from a man's point of view..and unfortunately doesn't work with conventional Indian audience.
and Paro's character does really become a prop sometimes..!

but in the process of raising TRPs we might loose the the brilliant storyline, scriptwriting, etc.

somewhere someone has to adjust..! finding balance is what needed..

Hola SJ! I know about your thread. I was vary of opening this thread today, but decided to stick my neck out.

I hope Sanaya shares the same questions as we do. she is smart, lets hope she figures this one out soon.

Or she is fine with it as she has her personal reasons for choosing this role, we would never know.

Well, there is a balanced screen space right now, they are getting equal share of the limelight..and that's fair. How much more emphasis does one character require.. why is this not enough to bring out the essence...is Rudra getting more ..nope...and still he is very well defined and comes across beautifully.
And possibly ...coz the initial part was all Paro..her dreams of a man, her meetings, her prayers, her household dreams, her marriage...she definitely had tons of scenes while Rudy barely made appearance. Rudra kicked in after the baraat encounter in real terms.

Eveline you and I are talking completely different things. while Im talking about character development you are talking about an actor's screen time.

So lets just agree to disagree.

@ Bold- SJ- You would be hounded now- but I am inclined to agree with this! She has already said that she doesn't GET Paro and I am sorry to say- it SHOWS! I dont know if thats because of the story board - it could be- and well as an actress she might be doing whatever she's been told to do and maybe without questioning- and at the end of the day it might be just another role to her??
And the effort that is put in Rudra's character- both by the story and the actor- SHOWS! And overdramatic- and NOT overbearing- it can be sometimes- but I think most of the audience - whatever little there is- is sticking to the show because of that!

Its okay.😊
I like the show in parts, showed great promise in beginning, but recently I have just not been able to make sense of anything.
