Too much of something is never good.

@vallu
i agree in UK and USA the rating are good , UK and US there a an advantage due to old shows of the actors and online exposure 100000+ total that is the viewership ,IF itself might have some 20000 readers
India the number as alleast 20- to 30 times
cant ignore that DABH is till the chart topperin UK and US with double the viewership , i dont watch the show or like it but the makers seem to do something right , which i think is the character development

what is there to disagree?

The show has always had ratings of 1.4-1.6. So it shows it has a loyal audience base.

Come on lets give the show some credit. 😊

If it were that bad Im sure 90% of us wouldn't even been watching it in the first place.

From the TRP perspective, before commenting on the show I would like to point out

The time slot is a tough one - because both the Zee and SP shows are doing well, While Colors can never compete with the SP shows as far as TRP is concerned, its real competition is Zee. The Colors 9 pm show lucked out as it was competing against a aging show and where the popular couple had quit. The 9.30 Zee show is still going relatively strong. Obviously the hope is that the Zee show will lose steam but hasn't happened so far.

On the story telling front,
a) The problems with PH has affected the story telling in the show- the loud and inappropriate BG score,
jumps in screenplay and loss of logic.
b) The first two weeks were outstanding but the decision to change it to a family drama has bought about the plateau in the TRPs and the Paro protection program was silly to say the least. I believe had they stuck to thier original track , they would have seen an
improvement in the ratings
c) Agree that Paro 's character has not been developed properly,

However, the current status in the story is a good place to BEGIN AFRESH. But I see the CVs making the same mistakes again, this Rudra suspension and the NGO thing lacks logic and finesse.
Get the seriousness back in the relationship.

Hi, although its a highly competitive slot, a competing show at 9.30 in Life Okay which is a smaller channel has better ratings. In fact their ratings were below RR's until last month.

There is definitely something that RR isnt getting right.

not saying the show is bad , what i saying is for it to gain its trps what ever new audience they want to acquire they should not mess up with the base story or characterization

what i feel there took it as a trade off first get the trps numbers right then get to the story
there fore the romance due to nari morcha and the quick force wedding

so many things so quickly forgot to portray emotion ,hatred wedding to fake wedding too quick for me

here i feel the regular audience will lose the connect

RR is the only show i watch every day on desi tv , IPK before that , i was not keen to tune in last week

every show i have tuned in at some point of time , like a lots of viewers will tune in RR just for a few episodes , that is driven by a lot of factors one to say promos, other show not seemig promising
that also contribute to the trps , 9 30 show na
but it cant rise unless they makes these casual viewersinto loyal viewers

like you said i want to see how will paro react in a situation even if it is different from me , for that i need to understand the characters
to put it simply the formula to succeed as a show is to create your own target group bt making lovable or understandable characters cos this is an every day affair
loyal audience is most critical

i think its wrong to blame the writers at this point.. the show still is unfolding with the love story.
Writers and PH is more aware of the current situation and they can judge the audience better than us, they definitely has more knowledge on what sells and I am sure they will try their best to deliver what they have promised. I feel the writers do not want to deviate from their writing and bow down to TRP audiences, they are still focussed with what they have written And thats a positive sign, because that indicates that the channel has yet not given any sort of warning to the writers, otherwise we could sense it with the storyline and its deviation. The show was and is focussed more on Rudra, and even after low TRPs, if the writers are continuing with it then it definitely means that they have something bigger and better to deliver.

There is a genre in which a particular show fits in. Like over history if you see the shows which are doing well in TRP are family oriented shows be it *+ or Colours. The love shows do well and peak at times and fall back later on. They are never the top shows consistently though these shows are very popular amongst the youth (who personally I feel do not watch it on TV with parents watch it online alone), hence the TRP never is top for these shows despite being popular.

Our show started out with patriotic army background, then moved onto family, then moved onto love. There is no particular genre this show is standing out for! Its all confusing which genre this show is as a viewer.

I think the makers need to take a stand now and make it adapt to a particular genre so as to attract the right set of viewers in terms of TR, which I feel they are doing now hence the quick wedding of PaRud. The show is in the transition period and they are in process of establishing the genre.

In terms of making I watch lots of these top shows and I know for a fact this show tops all these other top rated TRP shows in terms of script, visualization and acting!

This is my personal take. There are lots of happenings around TRPs which are never let know to us nor am I experienced enough like the makers to understand it. This is my outtake looking at it from the outside. The makers know better at the end of the day I suppose!

Damn as always last to the party and so many pages later 😭
Hmm NB my 2 bits although you know it will be more like 5 quid😆

At the cost of repeatedly sounding like a stuck record the lack of a female sensitivity chip in this writing team is a good deal responsible for the dismal ratings in India From what I can gather from the 2 TRP prototypes that live on my street they swear by SP and its prime time 9/9.30 pm serials they want to watch serials from the female perspective but have no issues with a strong male as long as their viewing criteria/standards are valued by the makers I have no idea of the second slot but the first slot just a bit out of curiosity over why it is ruling the roost I could not bear to see beyond 10 minutes not my shot of vodka but after hearing their views I realized that the FL and the ML were strong and respected each others aspiration and dreams The ML is most encouraging of the FL and quite protective .. ok to cut a long story short as I doubt many in the forum would be interested all the ingredients that would satisfy the regular folks with characters and issues that resonated with their own personal lives Take the case of the 11 pm show FL has painful emotional issues related to her health and ML has a rather traumatic past of an ex wife et al but they have managed to balance out and bring out both points of views so wonderfully that you are left rooting for both Even when he is in the wrong you empathize and vice versa

Now with RR they marketed this as her journey probably to reel in the fans and this no can argue for that is what is written as the premise of the show in the forum and then they did something which would be an unethical practice elsewhere but this is Desi TV land they kind of did a bait and switch So you went in with one notion only to find yourself being fed another Now I personally would have had no issues of a Man's journey to finding love if that is what I had been sold in the first place and it would have been my choice and no cause for complaint But I went in to see a love story as advertised and heavily promoted by the makers a different one but never the less a love story where it takes 2 to make it happen

I have said this so many times about Rudra's character sketch so not going to repeat I just want the same attention to detail to her character as well They have not given her an own family name to begin with although someone did mention Kanwar but I doubt it was ever used again as opposed to his Her family memories her parents recollections her best friend Bindi her foster mother her mamisa her grief and sense of treachery at the hands of her father figure Her nightmares all of them have been given the heave ho and guess what the TRP viewers said Jai Ho and moved on My Rajasthani neighbor was the one who predicted the death knell of SI' previous hit show when the ML was shown standing silently whilst the FL was being called characterless ( hate that damn word) and their interest waned off after that and with that the TRP The same applied here whilst they found the ML a good actor it was not enough for them to sustain their interest as they could not connect with the FL They wanted to witness her pain and tears for the amount of grief she has been subject to They did have some thing to say about ML breakdown suffice to say what we perceive here online as sensitive they view it as lack of strength so looks they want their ML strong silent sorts and the FL have the breakdowns And they found the lack of further investigation in the burning of the father as most shocking So looks like the makers missed a big drama inducing TRP there

Ashish is a good method actor and I did enjoy watching him in the initial few weeks then ennui set in I got tired of watching a Male Protagonist with the best dialogues monologues scenes and tracks built around his strength to make us all go aww what a man he be

I got tired Of a Female Antagonist who again seemed to have at her disposal the best zingers and was and is able to get away with culpable homicide Ananya is pretty monotonous now sorry i know she is an otherwise brilliant actor

This is something brilliant that Shabbo wrote in my thread some days back and I quote this last para from her reply Made absolute sense to me

I don't want to talk about clothes n hair n stuff but it irked me every time I came to this forum to see Ashish being praised for his acting and Sanaya for for how beautiful she looked and it just is not right. I dont know how to word it but Sanaya is beautiful and Paro will look beautiful in anything, even the widow's clothes that she should have donned coz Sanaya makes her beautiful, but Paro is many more things than that, which got lost somewhere after she had pointed the gun to her head.

And that is what the makers have lost big time in their lack of empathy with their FL and their failure to exploit the female actor's ability to connect with her viewers deeply They have written her as an adjunct subject to the whims and fancies of whatever they want her to do next a sort of a sacrificial goat You have to be a huge fan of RR to want to put aside any disturbing questions and view it just like Paro and her Just for today belief for anything else will be like asking for the moon - impossible to fulfill

RR still interests me but am not emotionally invested I just find it different for now and will view it as long as my interest holds I will have no sorrow bidding adieu when the time comes I just hope the makers realize that although they have a good product they have not maximized to its potential and have to make Paro the character more of flesh and blood and relatable to the TRP viewers and they also need to promote RR but then again this realization has to come on the part of the PH There should be no twitter trends on the part of the viewers to remind and nudge them of their lack of foresight and planning

ok I think i have said more than enough hope it made sense today my batteries are running on low

DDfan2012, you raised an interesting point about Thp. I follow that show on and off and am a non-trp viewer. The show suffers the reverse of what plagues RR. Paakhi is picture perfect and mostly in control of the story flow. I tuned out because I wanted to see Anshuman's POV and after reading the WU I do tune it occasionally as the actor does a very good job with subtlety. Having said all that the promo grabbed me for not what was shown 😉but because how did the equation change after 6 months when Anshuman never had feelings for Paakhi?

The bottom line is this, the basic premise held good for 6 months so at any point I could jump when I felt like. Even a TRP viewer who is faithful to their show will flip channels to watch other shows.. and that is why there is always a movement in the TRP charts. My question, if one is not a Sanaya or Ashish fan and just tuning in randomly once a week will the show grab you to tune back? For ex: you watched last Wednesday after the intense Shaadi scene and you tuned in yesterday to Kuch Kuch hota hai what would be your reaction? As much as the fast tracks are a blessing I think somewhere it is detrimental for an unbiased viewer to feel connected with Paro or Rudra.

Firstly I am not a TRP-viewer as well. I had watched a few initial episodes of TP but could never find a connect to the FL or ML. Found it too superficial. I am a fan of Sanaya but still watch GD and YHM. My favourite actor is Viraf and yet I have given up on EBI when a murder mystery turned into a comedy of errors. I was even doing a daily analysis of the show. So I dont watch shows cause I am a fan as such.

Well about a week between shaadi and KKHH track, is two days of RR time which is stretched over a week or so.

Now for my sister who is also a non-TRP viewer, a non-forumwaasi, nor a fangirl of any hero or heroine and in her 50s. Her shift has been from QH, to TP to RR. A very smooth transition 😆 i must say.

My mum who is in her late 70s finds RR fascinating and was waiting for Rudra and Paro to find out about the doll.

All I can say I guess my family is just different like RR😃
