Thats your opinion and I respect that. I didnt raise question on Ashish's acting at all. On the contrary I raised the overload of Rudra's emotional state time and again in the show. I havent been able to empathise with his character recently. Some of his scenes truly gave me a headache.

Too much of something is never good.

Nice discussion everyone.

Well, you all can dismiss my opinion by calling me a stalker 😊as I don't watch this show (or any other show as I have a 'no TV on weekdays' rule at home). But I enjoy the discussions on this forum and contribute when the topics aregeneric.

I agree with the POV that TRP audience connects with the female lead and that is where maybe this show lacks connect (as per the popular opinion). I also want to add that TRP audience has much less patience than internet viewers. The truth, or atleast my version of truth,is that the TRP audience are just like the online fans except without a forum to discuss. So, if things are not clear on one viewing, they lose interest and move on. Unlike the internet audience who gain more insight from discussions / analysis andalso stick to a showfor the friendships formed over forums, nice FFs, VMs etc..

Also, TV viewing in Indiais also family time - so people cook or serve dinners, eat it, talk about their day while the show is running in the background. So, pacing is important. People here crib that most of the other shows are slow - but maybe that's intentional so that people can look at screens once in 2 min and still understand what's going on 😛. Maybe, Ekta was smart to introduce dramatic music when something important happened - that ensured that viewer's attention was captured just in time.

That's just my opinion- I am not an expert on TRPs, nor a regular viewer of TV shows. Good luck to RR.

Bang bang on @ ruchisahay. You have hit the nail at the perfect SPOT. My mom & my aunts in Delhi ( who are serial lovers ) complained to me that they don't understand ' what the hell is happening ' . They are the kinds ( & so is most of the TRP janta ) who watch the shows or shifting the channels etc & for them shows like saas bahu types in which there is nothing much to understand , those are the ones that appeal to them. The beauty of RR is Rudra, dark & intense Paro all white & innocent but if RR was to go Ektaa Kapoor way then what I think would happen is... TRP junta would still not be able to connect with it because it's been on for sometime & they still would have this feeling that it's too complicated & RR's audience like us would quit so it's better it stays this way ,& become the best show ever for ppl like us who never watch crap

This!

I dont expect to relate to characters in a TV show. Nor does the TRP audience expect it. My mom loves Yeh Rishta, not because she relates to Akshara's character but because it offers her consistent regular entertainment.

The problem with RR is not the non-relatable characters, it is the inconsistent characters. You dont know what to feel for any of them because each of them dont react to the same situation in the same way. Ideally id have expected Paro to have given the silent treatment to Rudra after marriage, but instead she was crying, fainting & smiling. Where is the consistency?

Its why the marriage track has failed to get the ratings- paro's presence in the important sequence was next to nothing. As I said replace Paro with Maithali, would anyone have even noticed?

rr is doing well is USA and UK but not in India... Paroz side has been forgotten...even she has a horrific past...but that has not been explained well...balance is the key...promotions are necessary...but to get loyal audience, audience should be able to connect to leads...they have such a awesome actress for the female lead...they should make the best of it...
every person in this forum is concerned abt trpz...we fans do care for this show...cvz and the channel should do something...because this show has new to offer...parvati bhaisa and rudra bana are hatke...

As Diya said enough has been discussed about lack of POV of a woman/Paro on the show so I am staying away from it.😃

DDfan2012, you raised an interesting point about Thp. I follow that show on and off and am a non-trp viewer. The show suffers the reverse of what plagues RR. Paakhi is picture perfect and mostly in control of the story flow. I tuned out because I wanted to see Anshuman's POV and after reading the WU I do tune it occasionally as the actor does a very good job with subtlety. Having said all that the promo grabbed me for not what was shown 😉but because how did the equation change after 6 months when Anshuman never had feelings for Paakhi?

The bottom line is this, the basic premise held good for 6 months so at any point I could jump when I felt like. Even a TRP viewer who is faithful to their show will flip channels to watch other shows.. and that is why there is always a movement in the TRP charts. My question, if one is not a Sanaya or Ashish fan and just tuning in randomly once a week will the show grab you to tune back? For ex: you watched last Wednesday after the intense Shaadi scene and you tuned in yesterday to Kuch Kuch hota hai what would be your reaction? As much as the fast tracks are a blessing I think somewhere it is detrimental for an unbiased viewer to feel connected with Paro or Rudra.

I agree the trp audience connects more to the story if its shown from a women's perspective. But here no emotions of Paro are being shown nor has her character shown any growth.
The story was promoted as being the journey of a girl who falls in love with someone who doesn't acknowledge the relationship and yet we hardly see what Paro is feeling. I have sort of accepted the fact that the show is indeed about the male lead.
Though I am really surprised at the drop considering that the wedding was such a high point amd yet it managed to make no difference. I'm not looking forward to see the ratings now that the ipl has started!

Oddly RR has never experienced big jumps or falls in ratings. So i dont think IPL will pull the numbers down. RR has a very loyal set of audience. but the show hasn't been able to pull new viewers in. Therein lies the problem.

👏 Much needed post , totally agree with u

Indian audience mainly connects with the shows , that has story basically about FL , or a story according to FL perspective , so they can connect e easily cuz majority of TRP audience r females , in our show there is a overdose of RUDRA , I like him and without him love story is incomplete but cvs failed to create a perfect balance bw leads characters , that was exactly happened last week , force marriage 2. Full episode about RUDRA and his grief , I don't mind but almost no reaction from PARO that's not fair , they didn't show her emotions and thoughts about force marriage perfectly , yup she wanted to marry him but not like that

i sort of disagree here NB , i think the local audience are losing the connect and not taking the show in their first priority of watched shows
rest completely agree
@vallu
i agree in UK and USA the rating are good , UK and US there a an advantage due to old shows of the actors and online exposure 100000+ total that is the viewership ,IF itself might have some 20000 readers
India the number as alleast 20- to 30 times
cant ignore that DABH is till the chart topperin UK and US with double the viewership , i dont watch the show or like it but the makers seem to do something right , which i think is the character development
