One verse from Ayodhya Kand , where Manthara is persuading Kaikeyi that she should stop Rama's naming as crown prince, she says :

pratyaasannakrameNaapi bharatastaiva bhaamini |
raajyakramo viprakR^ishhTastayostaavatkaniiyasoH || 2-8-7

"Oh Kaikeyi! In line with even the proximity of birth; the claim to the throne of Bharata alone can be pressed, that of Lakshmana and Satrughna who are younger is out of question."

Exit Question: All the 4 brothers, werent the born on the same day? mayb on different time? If you say that BLS were born on the same day, ie that Rama was born how many days before them?
