I thought the part about Avadis abusing Kaikeyi was really poetic justice,😈 even though there is nothing like that in the original. Seeing the precap to part 2, I thought they were going to throw shoes at her, with those black thingies at the feet of the subjects in the front line. The first part - Kaikeyi meeting Manthara - was like something out of a Three Musketeers movie, like its shot in the dungeons.😈😈

One thing didn't make sense - the Avadis demanding of Kaushalya why she hadn't banished Kaikeyi from Ayodhya. Wouldn't they have known that such a decision could only have been taken by Bharat, and the reasonhe didn't do it was that he didn't recognize himself as the ruler, and he knew Rama wouldn't condone something like that done in his name. If Kaushalya had the power to banish Kaikeyi, she'd have had the power to prevent Rama's exile, no?😕

Actually, it's only in the serials that she's shown having remorse. In the original, what she regreted was her schemes coming to naught, as a result of their beneficiary Bharat repudiating them: no mention is made of how she behaved during the exile period. It's only after Rama's return that everything gets forgiven and forgotten. Note also that nothing is mentioned about Manthara subsequent to Shatrughan beating her.

Your point about mob behavior is a good explanation. Well described!
