well when dilshads dad was describing rashid to shireen and asking her to get dilshaad ready shireen was lost as to how shell manage dilshad so she dint hear he is a doctor so dilshad thinks he is some person...and she wanted a husband to be of her level hope that answers your query

CHAPTER 4 A 1987
rashid has come to see dilshad...earlier Dilshad thought if i go down like this everyone will question me so she first went to her dadi Dilshad"Dadi i have covered my face traditionally and that two with two dupattas i am not habitual of this and have put many pins to keep it in place so please tell everyone not to lift my veil and disturb the setup".Dadi was very happy she felt finally this girl has left her dream of becoming a pscyojest thank you Allah. Mean while Rashid had arrived and as soon as he had heard the line dovtor he was sure hell marry this girl.Rashid had also found Dilshads parents to be quite humble and you wont say broadminded but atleast they werent narrow minded either. hmmm

Well dadi brought dilshad down rashid was surprised to see the veil he thought to himself"i thought studing broaden your perspective surely she not wear a veil while seeing her patients but then how will she see the patients will she make a service window ...par service window toh kitchen counter mai hoti hai... arrey doctor hai par arrey Rashid concenterate. Well so long for wishing females to be more independent Rashid miya.He shouted stop and finally Dilshad smiled that her plan was successful she gave a bhootwala smile Rashid"Well hello Dr. Dilshad I am Dr. Rashid.Dilshad was stunned and was opening and closing her mouth like a goldfishWell yes dint anyone tell you i am a doctor and...Dishad suddenly felt stupid and excused herself she came back after teeth minutes after making herself more presentable. Over the next few hours they discussed their pasts, their thoughts, their aspirations, their hopes, their passion for medicine .Dilshad came to know that her future husband was not a MCP although he wasnt a feminist either but Dilshad knew this was the 20 centuary and although Radhid supported her doing her MD after marriage and working till she wants he still was a male and boy males let it be from kashmir to kanyakumari or from America to Japan expected their wives to cook and Dilshad although was no meek lady had accepted the fact ,she was thankful atleast her husband would help her if not help atleast allow her to hire a servant.Rashid told Dilshad that he wouldhe finished his Md and would join The Fr. Cardonan hospital it was the best private hospital and had its branches in Nepal Bangladesh Vietnam and if God's grace in next ten years would spread to Nyc and other big countries too .The MD of the hospital was Mr James Hall and his wife had died and his children and migrated to the US and never looked back.Dilshad and Rashid got married after 2 months in the year and they shifted to delhi while Rashid started working under Mr James Dilshad did her Md in gynecology although Dilshad wanted to pursue psychology but Rashid told her it was a very demanding profession and she wont jave time for her family and his family and in the future...Dishad wasa bit sad but life did not give to everything so she compromised and well she thought she was a lady not a girl anymore she had some farz as a bahu,wife,daughter too and she was very happy atleast she got a understanding husband .
