Through The Monsoon: Part 32

"Miss Farooqui, doctor ko please kehdo kay inhe hosh aagaya hai," Tanveer heard Asad's voice ring into her ears as she regained consciousness and tried to open her eyes. She squinted as she tried to adjust to the brightness, finally noticing that Asad was sitting on a chair next to her bed, staring at her intently. Dilshaad and Najma stood behind him, looking at each other worriedly.

"Tum theek toh ho?" Asad asked seriously, and Tanveer breathed a sigh of relief before nodding in response. Asad seemed to be showering her with his usual concern, this could only mean that he hadn't figured anything out.

"Good, good, you really gave Zoya and I a scare back there," Asad continued, after a small moment of awkward silence. Tanveer tried to control herself from scowling as she heard Zoya's name. All this had happened because of that wretched girl anyway.

"Jammy yeh Zoya bhi na, why did she have to keep her bathroom floor so wet? If she had tried to be neater, none of this would have happened. Nothing would have happened even when I dropped the live wire on the floor, if only she had kept the bathroom dry," Tanveer complained, easily pinning the blame on Zoya. She watched Asad's lower jaw tighten in anger and she controlled her lips from tugging into a smile. Asad was ridiculously easy to sway.

"Woh sab toh theek hai, par mujhe ek baat samajh mein nahi aa raha. What were you doing holding a live wire in Zoya's bathroom anyway?" Asad asked, his forehead creasing into a deep frown. Tanveer swallowed nervously and racked her brains for an excuse. She'd accidentally said too much earlier. She opened her mouth to explain herself when an unfamiliar voice cut her off.

"Miss Tanveer, how are you feeling now? Dekhiye, you had gotten quite a bad electric shock, you are lucky to have survived. We were all convinced that you wouldn't regain consciousness. Khair, aapka baccha..." the doctor began to say, and Tanveer coughed loudly to stop the doctor from continuing. Boy that was close.

"Tanveer, tum pregnant ho?" Zoya asked in shock, as she walked in and stood next to the doctor. Tanveer tried not to glare at Zoya. Way to spoil her cover up. She could practically feel Asad staring at her, and she knew she had to answer.

"Nahi nahi! Yeh kaise behuda ilzam hai Zoya," Tanveer snapped at Zoya, gritting her teeth in a bid to control her anger. She turned her head to Asad and was about to continue her string of complaints about Zoya when Asad lifted his hand up and faced his palm at her, telling her to stop.

"Kitne jhoot bologi Tanveer?" Asad asked in a painfully low growl, his eyes suddenly clouding over with a sheen of anger. Tanveer cowered as she felt his glare scald her skin, breathing in and out loudly out of fear. She tried to say something to defend herself but all that came out was a pathetic incoherent sputter.

Asad pulled out his phone from his pocket and scrolled through it, and after a while the crisp sound of Najma's voice rang from his phone, telling Tanveer to pass Asad something. There was some scuffling sounds thereafter, probably of the phone changing hands. A little while later, Tanveer heard her own voice, and she cringed inwardly.

"Bewakoof Najma ko shayad pata nahi ke Asad se milne ka bahana de ke kitna bada ehsaan kiya hai mujhpe. Now if only Zoya would get the hell out of her room so I can carry out my brilliant plan. After that Zoya can enjoy her time by herself in jannat while I enjoy myself with her Mr Khan as his wife,"

A collective gasp was heard from Dilshaad, Najma, Zoya and even the doctor who happened to be standing there. Asad stuffed his phone back into his pocket before standing up and towering over Tanveer menacingly.

"When you returned me my phone, my video recording was switched on for some reason. After switching it off, I was about to delete the video, but then I thought of watching it, even I don't know why. I guess it was just fated that I find out what your intentions were. I was about to go to Zoya's room and warn her when she came into mine instead, to tell me her bathroom was leaking. We went to her bathroom to find you there, aur muqaddar ka khel dekho! You've ended up like this and Zoya is here with me, safe and sound," Asad explained, walking over to Zoya and slipping his hand into hers, before lifting their joined hands and raising it to his lips, dropping a kiss on Zoya's knuckles.

"Fine, you win this time. But trust me, I'll take my revenge. Tum logo ko chodoogi nahi," Tanveer retorted openly and hysterically, finding no point in hiding her true colours anymore. She tried to sit up to make her point stronger, but she found that she simply couldn't. She even tried to lift her arms but nothing seemed to work.

"Doctor! Yeh mujhe kya hogaya hai?! Why can't I move my body??" Tanveer shrieked in panic, to which the doctor frowned and then quickly came forward. She did some checks before sighing loudly and shaking her head.

"Jiska darr tha wahi hua. Miss Tanveer, you're paralyzed from the neck down," the doctor announced, as she picked up Tanveer's chart and flipped through it, making the necessary notes in it. Another collective gasp was heard.

"Aur mera baccha...?" Tanveer squealed, tears stinging her eyes. Her frustration grew when she realized she couldn't even wipe her own tears, her lifeless body unable to help her in any way. The tears trailed down to her pillow, damping it.

"Wahi toh main kehne aayi thi. I'm sorry Miss Tanveer, we couldn't save your child," the doctor concluded, placing her chart back into the slot near the foot of the bed before patting Tanveer's shoulder sympathetically and walking off. Tanveer bit back her screams, realizing that she couldn't even feel the doctor's consolation pat on her shoulder. Tanveer watched Zoya melt as she walked forward to comfort her, and Tanveer felt suddenly grateful for even that much show of concern. But Asad tightened his hold on Zoya's hand, stopping her from reaching Tanveer.

"Don't bother Miss Farooqui, iske muqaddar mein akelapan hi likha hai. She has no respect for those who care for her, choosing the path of deceit instead. Then she doesn't deserve this care either," Asad said, pulling Zoya back towards him and holding her against his body. Zoya rested her head on his shoulder, choking back tears.

"ARGH! You guys disgust me. Main tum sab ko maar daloogi!" Tanveer screamed in frustration, irritated with this show of togetherness. It wasn't her fault that they were all so easy to manipulate. They should blame their own stupidity for this, not her.

"Finally, I was just waiting for you to say something along those lines. This will go perfectly with the other confession you made on my phone. Inspector..." Asad called out calmly to the group of police waiting patiently outside the ward like he'd asked them to. He hugged Zoya closer to him as Dilshaad and Najma approached them, hugging the couple from either side. It was all going to be alright now.

XXX

I know it's a little cheesy, but dude that's the proper way muqaddar ka khel should be haha where good reigns over evil. It's so stupid if muqaddar keeps supporting evil right zz.

It was written beautifully.šŸ‘šŸ˜Š
and @ bold, it actually is called "muqaddar ka khel" actually. The game of destiny is not what they are depicting in the show.

I just loved this part so so much. i'm so glad Asad heard & acted accordingly & wisely. hopefully there'll be a clear confession in upcoming parts.
lots of love,
Nim.

Finally, at least here mukadar played fair.. Warna I was sick and tired of this mukadar playing all non sensical khels aka games with innocent and brainless people like Zoya farooqui.. *Running away from your own wedding to investigate about some billi and then marrying a bacha like ayaan is complete nuisance* I don't know where all her intelligence has vanished all of a sudden. Billi you deserve much more then this. At first I felt sad to here she was paralysed but when she again said she'll ruin them I was like bitch you'll never change.. And, like Tanveer said in the yesterdays episode- Nagin the zeher bale katam ho jaye but wo dasna nhi chodti.. So true when it comes to tanveer.
Continue soon.
