Catwalk? Lol.😆

I'm a Muslim and I've never seen such a thing happen at any of the weddings I've been to.

It's not happening at my wedding, that's for sure!😆

Its not my view...there was a scene in today's episode where the wedding planner told Asad and Zoya to walk in a filmy type way across the room...it was very "catwalk"ish...hence the term that I used in my post. Christian weddings have certain elements I don't care for either such as the line "a woman now has to submit to the husband"...like hello? its 2013...I don't think so 😊
...but then you just take it as tradition and go with the flow...its not like you or the groom actually believe in it...and if he does, definitely don't marry him 😆

Remember this show is written for entertainment purposes without any rhyme or reason or thought placed on what is common practice among Muslims. I have not even seen these people host a dolki - a party where the girls friends invite her over for singing and dancing or a mayoon where there is a ceremony with henna (not like a mendhi). The writers have no interest in these practices.

A muslim wedding is nice and simple. It consists of a nikaah where the bride is asked first, then only if she says yes, the groom is asked. Then there's the walimah (reception). The mehndi, sangeet, and haldi is all culture based. As for a catwalk, there is none, yes the bride and groom do walk down the aisle, to the stage, on the nikaah/walimah day but that's about it.

First of all, No Worries...this is not a post about religion and mini skirts... 😆

just wondering, I know have limited knowledge of Muslim traditions but when does a bride and groom actually do a catwalk during a Muslim wedding?? Lol.

Just a fun post...no intense discussion here 😆

What they are showing are not exactly how things happen amongst muslims. In this show only the names of the characters are muslim like and they speak in urdu. Other than that there is nothing Islamic as such about this show. Characters in this show are basically non-practising muslims.
So, just forget about mini skirt, catwalk, intermingling, etc., etc. Just watch show like other shows and forget about names, or culture or anything for that matter.
