If one goes by the statistics, a person belonging to the social strata tha Asad is from would actually not only write in English but would also word it in English. No matter what religion the person follows. But even that wasn't shown...so what's the problem?

I kind of find it funny that people don't have much problem with English here but certainly are not happy with Hindi (at least some are)

Asad is a Indian-Muslim, so it's really not uncommon for him to write in hindi. Just because one is a muslim doesn't mean they have to write in Arabic, if you live in a Muslim country then yes it's common, so I guess people in Pakistan would write in Arabic because that's what they have been taught, but India isn't a Islamic country and Asad has been taught to write in Hindi so he will write in what he's comfortable in.

Edited

Also a small fact many muslims don't actually know how to write in Arabic - case in point .. ME.

I can't read or write in Hindi or Urdu!...Well I can read very basic Urdu because the script is Arabic.

So, I think that Asad should have just wrote the chitti in English because both of them are educated and it would make sense! If the chitti was in English they could have had Hindi subtitles for that part and everyone would be happy! 😆

P.S. I probably get more frustrated than most of you guys since I can't read/write in Hindi or Urdu and these scenes come up and the character doesn't read the letter out loud (some Ekta shows) and I gotta wait until everything makes sense. Life's a struggle for me 😆

First of all, Gul made this show with a muslim backdrop but that doesn't mean that she does EVERYTHING that goes with muslim/islam. She clearly stated in her interviews that the characters being muslim has very minimum to do with the show. She is not making a show on a religion but on characters and a plot.

They live in INDIA where most of the people regardless of their religion read and write hindi. I'm sure even Gul most likely writes in hindi. Also, unlike many people's belief's there are muslims that can speak urdu but can't write it. It's not that big of a deal.

And you said that people that don't reside in India don't know hindi but this show was made for people that live in India. Gul doesn't care about non-indians because that doesn't give her TRPs. Majority of the shows portray things that the indian audience would want to see.
I'm not saying that Gul and the crew doesn't appreciate the audience abroad but that's just not what they try to target.

I don't get why this has been made such a big deal. It's not like they didn't do their homework...it was just a NOTE. If it was a wedding invitation then I would understand.

And No. This show is not on the top just because of its romantic scenes but it's on the top because of the actors, characters, plot, direction and production.

I think what Kriti meant was that the show is targeted to ALL of India and the majority can't read Urdu.

I don't think its such a big deal.I am an Indian Muslim ,we speak Urdu in our home but i cannot write in it ,as I studied in a christian convent ,but I am very fluent in Hindi.

Being A Muslim doesn't mean that one should read and write in Urdu only.

what a big deal yarr
this show is about Muslim family, and nothing else
not about religion, not about language
aur wasay bhi kis nay kaha k Muslim honay k liya Urdu ka ana zarori hai
what about Middle east, Europe, America wahan kia muslims nahi hotay
yah wahan k lonon ko bhi urdu likhna yah pharna ata hai???

but agree ager urdu main likha hota tu zida acha lagta,
nahi bhi hai tu kia
ignore kardo dost
