i'm somewhere in between the two...i understand that it's a show but also know the effect it can leave on young minds...
personally, i would be dishing back as much if not more than asad
i have problem with zoya taking it because she grew up in new york. that's not in character. no matter how much you love the guy
with khushi from ipk i kinda took that because she grew up in a very very traditional and conservative family. where husbands are considered god sometimes more than god 😕
that's NOT zoya..
that all being said, i will continue with the show solely for the entertainment purpose..😃

Yes, I agree. Asad has done a lot for Zoya. But the fact that he apologizes and repeats the same mistake again, the way he emotionally tortures her, the way he doesn't even BOTHER to listen to her, the way he can easily see cause tears in her eyes.. overrides any thing nice he's done for her.

If I loved somebody, I'd make excuses, true. But, when he doesn't mend his ways, how much should I kill my self respect just to stand up for him?

And yes, women have many rights in the world. But the media is still hell bent on portraying them as the victims. And we are! Women, just because of their lack of physical strength, are victims in some cases. But in this one, it's about the emotional trauma he keeps putting her through which she keeps accepting! That's what's getting to me.

Absolutely correct. Couldn't agree more .👍🏼

Sensible post. I completely agree with you. I had written somewhere else that Gul Khan's heroes seem to be chronic abusers - emotional, psychological and physical and its frightening how the women forgive them so easily!

And her men never really go down the redemption path other than maybe a sorry or two. There is no guilt, no self loathing for the way they treat their women. Arnav was a sterling example and now Asad is as bad!

And the worst is that all it takes is a smile and a few words of love and the woman is back to be tortured and abused once again :-(

The scary part is that television and movies do impact audiences and shape and influence impressionable minds. Why do you think they are used for directing public opinion?

I remember a serial called Shaktiman that came in for a lot of criticism cos a small child jumped out of the window trying to fly like Shaktiman. So reel life, unfortunately does impact real life.. and there enough young women who will believe that as long as the guy is good looking and offers a few words of love every now and then, its ok to get manhandled and abused.

In fact with some convoluted logic may just find the manhandling macho and attractive,, sic...

This is the 21st century, I am sure we can find storylines that are not so retrograde or at least which do not show women eager to put up any and everything in the name of love.

Its insulting to women to assume that their brains, sense of self worth and self preservation goes for a hike when they fall in love! SO much for Star's "NAYI SOCH'! :-))

Slap bang on! Exactly what I mean. With a audience so vast, she should show a progressive thinking society. I mean, Zoya's character was wonderful at the start. She told Asad to his face not to judge her by her clothes, she came for a mission and she made sure he kept telling her sorry (though at that time I didn't think he needed to in all honesty..😆)

Now all she does is stop, watch him shout at her, shed a few tears, then prove him wrong. Once she's proved him wrong, his eyes become watery, he tells her a sorry and all is well again. Then something else happens and BAM he screams at her again and the whole cycle continues!

Eventually, fiction or not.. girls will think it's alright to be treated like this..!! Regarding IPK.. that was one reason why I never used to watch the show. Arnav mistreating Khushi and not even going into proper redemption, was something I rolled my eyes at. And now guess what, same thing's happening here. Sometimes, a mere 'sorry' isn't enough to heal the wounds you've caused people.

this is the problem with gul...not just now..ever since geet started ...she has made it a habit of making female leads a scapegoat ,its always the female leads has to suffer ,get humiliated and one fine day the male leads tell sorry and everything is over...

but in reality this never happens...no one can easily forgive though they are willing to...it makes them recall the things that they have undergone ...

QH is a muslim show...i wonder sometimes why she show so much of negativity ...did she forget even she is a muslim...do characters like tanveer really exist ? is she a human first of all?
did she forget she is pregnant?why is she behind asad when the person responsible for it is getting married to someone...don't tell me its bcz of money...money can't bye everything in life

what is gul showing?..she is women and showing all this ...set fire, self kill, and many more...
ppl of all age watch the show...don't she think she is giving false msg to the viewers

i can only say"she will never change...now and forever"

oh my wooorrdd!!!! i love you right now! i wrote an exam this morning, on morally correct decisions and when i came home i though of Qubool Hai (as always). i'm majoring in Women and Gender Studies and thought to myself that i would want to make a post regarding this. but you did, so thank you!😆

i feel the exact same as you. why are women always expected to forgive and let go so easily, and now everybody is going to feel so bad because Asad shed a few tears and expect zoya to just it go. i think that is unfair. but any way, thanks for an amazing post 👏

Every show has to have a vamp.. so I'm not really bothered with Tanveer. And sometimes, Muslim or not, some people are really evil. But I agree, the way she's been portraying women has been awful in the past shows. I'm sure of Khushi being mistreated..I never used to keep up with much with Geet. Even after Khushi was forcefully married to ASR I stopped completely. Because he frigging made her sleep outside near the pool!!! I would NOT forgive a guy for that if he merely came and said 'sorry'! And even if I did forgive him, I'd probably still never want to see his face again!

So you're right. Even when things like these do happen in reality. It takes a lot for someone to actually forget it. I mean, hasn't Asad heard the saying 'the tongue is the sharpest weapon in your body.' He should learn to frigging well control it! because 'sorry' and a coffee/date does not make up for the scars he's caused for a lifetime!

I agree to an extent, but the thing is whether one is from New York or India a woman in love is a very forgiving one. That's why women continue to live with cheaters, alcoholics and abusers because they would have loved them in the beginning and think that they will change. HOPE. That is the biggest thing and I am sure Zoya hopes that Asad will love her just like she loves him. I agree Asad is being a prick. But only through these suspicions is he getting to know about Zoya otherwise he doesn't know anything about her life. I think that lack of knowledge is what makes him vicious with Zoya. Otherwise he does things to help her. And he does apologise readily. There are men out there who even after making a mistake will not apologise. He did help Zoya find her father, gave her a work permit, proposed to her in the airport, and accepted that everything is true in front of aapi. So we are all not perfect we have our flaws and asad's biggest flaw is that he is looking for reasons to find fault with zoya so that he can convinice himself to not love her more than he already does. But he doesn't know that they are made for each other.

So many things to say. But, will get to the straight point: Women are more brave, strong. They spread love…
