Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming directorial, Nishaanchi, has already sparked curiosity with its new trailer. The film promises a mix of suspense, action, and unexpected twists, keeping audiences guessing about what’s to come.
Interestingly, a real-life detail about Kashyap has also slipped into the script. His family nickname happens to be 'Rinku,' which also happens to be the name of the character played by Vedika Pinto.
A coincidence that amused the crew
On set, this overlap of names often led to amusing situations. Whenever someone called out for 'Rinku' both Anurag Kashyap and Vedika Pinto would respond, creating moments of laughter during intense filming schedules. While the connection is purely coincidental, it added an off-screen charm that the cast and crew won’t forget.
Aaishvary Thackeray steps into the spotlight
The film also marks the acting launch of Aaishvary Thackeray. He plays not one but two characters, making his debut even more challenging. Sharing the screen with him are Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra, each taking on layered parts in the story. The casting brings together both fresh and seasoned talent, raising anticipation for the theatrical release.
Creative team behind the project
Nishaanchi is backed by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under Jar Pictures, with Flip Films also attached. The screenplay is written by Prasoon Mishra, Ranjan Chandel, and Kashyap himself. The collaboration blends Kashyap’s distinctive direction with writing that aims to balance intensity and wit.
The makers describe the film as a mix of shifting loyalties, complicated relationships, and high-stakes confrontations. While the trailer has revealed only glimpses of the storyline, the mood is set for a theatre experience that carries Kashyap’s familiar edge.
With its theatrical release scheduled for September 19, the film will be Kashyap’s latest addition to his long list of experiments with crime dramas, dark humor, and emotional conflict. Audiences will find out if Nishaanchi manages to live up to the buzz once it hits the big screen.
